Lester Nearly Goes Perfect As Sox Beat Jays 5-0

Jon Lester, who improved to 5-0, shows his excitement in polishing off his one-hit shutout with his fifth strikeout.
The Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 5-0 as Jon Lester nearly went perfect, tossing a one hitter and getting the complete game shutout. His only hit he gave up was in the 6th inning on a 2 out double, in which he pitched a curve ball, and he probably left it hanging. Lester's final line for then night was 9 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 walked, and getting 5 strikeouts, and earning his 5th win, going 5-0. Anyways, the offense was here this game, collecting 10 hits on the night.

This was just a great game for the Sox and Lester, I really wish Lester could have got that perfect game. Also, thank you to whoever updated the Red Sox sidebar for me. The Red Sox will take on the Blue Jays again today at 1:35 PM and Buchholz will look to earn his 7th win and go 7-0. Also, here's some sad or good news, depending on how you view it, closer/reliever Joel Hanrahan will undergo a surgery and he will be out for the remainder of the season, to recover from this season ending injury and surgery. So this could be a bad thing, considering we got Hanrahan to be our future star closer and now he is out for the season. But it can also be good because it let's Andrew Bailey go back to his old role, the cloer role once he comes back from the 15 day DL. For now, Junichi Tazawa will be in the closer role until Bailey comes back. Anyways, let's hope Buchholz earns his 7th win tonight... LET'S GO RED SOX!
