Bruins Lose to Sens 4-2, Stumble Into Playoffs as 4th Seed

(The Senators were able to clinch the 7th seed and avoid Pittsburg as they win 4-2)

The Bruins were looking to finally clinch the Northeast Division once and for all, and they would have with a win over Ottawa, who were playing to get into the 7th seed and avoid Pittsburg. Both teams had something to play for, it would depend on who wanted it more.

The Bruins came out with too many turnovers in their own zone, but the Bruins also had many chances and they could have easily been up 1-0 when Kaspris Daugavens broke through the Ottawa defense but couldn't raise the backhander shot over the goalie's pads. The Senators would score first off of a rebound that came high off Rask, Condra was able to grab it and get it in the empty net. They would go up 2-0 when Cowen scored on a shot from the blue line that got all the way through and past Rask. The Bruins would get back into it, though. They would tie it up 2-2 after Peverly scored with 4 seconds remaining in the 2nd Period and Seidenburg scored 14 seconds into the third period. But, then Ottawa would get the game winner and would then add an empty netter to win 4-2.

Ok, I mean, I just don't know. We are getting chances, a lot of chances. Our problem is finishing. There were plenty of opportunities that a lot of teams wouldn't miss. Now we have to face a Toronto team in it's first playoff series in 9 years. Hungry for a deep playoff run? Yes, they are. But, if we get back on track I think we can take this series, but we have to play better. If we play like this, it doesn't matter who we verse, we would lose. Game 1 is Wednesday at the Garden.

Celtics Avoid Sweep Beat Knicks 97-90 In OT Thriller

(Terry comes up clutch scoring 9 of his 18 points in Ovetime)

The Celtics got off to a hot start in the 1st as they took a 22-17 lead after one. In the 2nd though they came up hotter scoring 32 points in the 2nd and only allowing 18 and had a 19 point lead heading to half time. But then the 2nd half collapse begins(again). The Knicks went on a huge run and felton hit a 3 at the buzzer to cut the lead to 3 heading to the 4th. The Knicks took there first lead of the game with under 5 minutes but the Celtics would tie it. Paul Pierce head a chance to get a buzzer but missed the jumper and off to OT we go. The "Jet" came up clutch shooting a 3 and clutch shots to seal the deal. The Celtics did a good job defending Anthony limiting him to 10-35 shooting. Also JR Smith was suspended this game for elbowing Terry. Lets look at the stats:

Jeff Green: 26 points and 6 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 4 points and 4 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 13 points and 17 rebounds

Paul Pierce: 29 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists

Avery Bradley: 3 points and shot 1-7

Jason Terry: 18 points and shot 7-10

Rest of Bench: 4 points

So the Celtics live to fight another day. Now the Celtics will be heading back to New York where the Knicks have a chance to end it. IF the Celtics win game 5 I think they have a legit chance at coming back.

 Prediction: Knicks Win 92-85

What Should the Bruins Do Tonight?

Hello,

Ok, so we all know that the Eastern Conference will all be watching us tonight, literally, because we are the only ones playing. Also because our game will determine the final seedings. The Ranger and Caps are the only series determined, so everyone else is relying on our game tonight. So, should the Bruins win or lose this game tonight, or putting it in a better way, what is better for us? If the Bruins lose tonight (in any way) we will be 4th in the East and verse the Maple Leafs. If we win in regulation time we would finish 2nd in the East and verse the Islanders. Now, if we win in Overtime or a Shootout then we would still finish 2nd, but Ottawa would also get a point, making them go past the Islanders and into 7th because they hold the tie-breaker, so the bruins would have to verse Ottawa.

So, the Bruins are either versing the Maple Leafs, the Islanders, or the Senators in the first round. Now this is pretty good news for Bruins fans because I think we could handle any one of those teams. But, if I had to choose one to avoid, it would be Toronto because they haven't made the playoffs in 9 years and they want to go deep. So I think the Bruins should try and win this game.

Bruins Penalty Kill Blows Lead, Lose 3-2 in OT

(Behind two goals from Mike Green, the Bruins lose to the Capitols in overtime)

The Bruins came out with their best start in a while, but it didn't last. Halfway through the first period, Lucic put a shot on net that was probably going wide, but it bounced off of a Capital skate and went in and Lucic was credited with the goal. Then in the second, it's Lucic again carrying the puck through the neutral zone and dropping it behing for Andrew Ference who then fired a quick wrist shot that beat Braden Holtby.

Then we go to the third.

The Bruins penalty kill has been number 1 in the NHL almost the whole season, but when you give the number 1 power play in the NHL too many opportunities, they are going to convert eventually, and that's exactly what happened. With back to back penalties by the Bruins, the Capitals scored a goal in each, both by Mike Green, to tie the score at 2. The Bruins were ending regulation time on the power play. Could they convert and win the game, of course not, and to overtime we go. In overtime, the closest chance we got was when Chris Kelly hit the post, and that was really the closest we got, because not long after that, Chara gets called for hooking and the Caps get another power play, and again they didn't fail to convert and the Bruins fell 3-2. Plus, with Montreal beating Toronto, we are now 4th in the East and facing a must win game if we want to finish 2nd. My next post will talk about if I would rather have us win or lose this game.

Red Sox Beat Astros 8-4

Ortiz's 3 RBIs carry Red Sox past the Astros 8-4
The Red Sox beat the Astros, once again, 8-4, Saturday night. Doubrant didn't get off to the best start in this one, giving up 2 runs in the first innings, walking 3 batters, hitting 1 batter, and throwing a wild pitch, all on 1 hit. So mainly, it was his location that was his trouble, again, but he settled down nice and fine throughout the rest of the game. When he finished his outing at 6.2 innings pitched, he had given up, 4 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, and got 8 strikeouts, another quality start we can say. The bullpen was pretty stellar throughout the night except for Daniel Bard, who walked 2 batters, and gave up a run, back to the old Bard... Anyways, a lot of people did good, including Ortiz who went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and Middlebrooks who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Pedroia also did good going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Andrew Miller came in the 9th to finish the game out and he will save our bullpen work for today.

Anyways, John Lackey will be making his return from the 15 day disabled list and will be starting today when the game starts at 1:35. Hopefully Lackey shows positive signs and does good because I don't think we can handle these injuries anymore with Lackey. Let's get the sweep Red Sox!

Dempster Picks Up First Win As Sox Beat Astros 7-3

Dempster strikes out 10 as Red Sox beat Astros 7-3
The Red Sox beat the Astros, yes again, 7-3 Friday night. The Sox had 17 hits last night, and everyone was just doing great. Pedroia picked up 3 hits and went 3 for 5. Ross picked up 4 hits, and went 4 for 4, with 2 home runs. Ortiz also had a home run, second straight game with a home run. Also, we can't forget about Middlebrooks who hit his 6th home run of the season last night, going back to back with Ross. Anyways, Dempster did pretty good, giving up only 4 hits, 2 earned runs, 3 walks, and getting 10 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. He also picked up his first win of the season last night. The bullpen also did good last night with Mortenson, Tazawa, Uehara, and Wilson relieving the game. Wilson came into the 9th to finish the game up, and he did good getting 3 quick outs and 1 strikeout, and still has an ERA of 0.

So the bats helped the Sox win this game last night. This was Ross's first career 4 hit game in his 12 year career, who is 36. With this win, the Sox, will face the Astros for the 3rd game in a 4 game series. Doubrant is scheduled to pitch in this one.

Celtics Fall To Knicks 90-76 Down 0-3 In Series

The Knicks got hot early and never looked back as they rout the Celtics 90-76. Many turnovers and missed shots cost us. Sigh, what went wrong? Is it that we dont have Rondo no offense and to many turnovers? Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 17 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds

Jeff Green: 21 points and 9 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 17 rebounds

Jason Terry: 14 points

Avery Bradley: 2 points

Bench: 10 points

No team has ever come back from 0-3 down in NBA history but if anyone can do it the Celtics can but lets be honest they probably won't. The Knicks will be looking for revenge from 2011 going for the sweep lets hope the Celtics win at least one game.

Prediction: Celtics win 92-81

Bruins Look Better Against Tampa

(Dougie Hamilton won the Bruins 7th Player Award, to the player who exceded expectations the most)

The Bruins had a lot more emotion in the game than they have recently. They were much more physical with tons of hits, including two fights. One was Andrew Ference and old friend Benoit Pouliot and Milan Lucic fighting Keith Aulie, and yes I am going to say that we won both. Now, as for the scoring, there wasn't too much of it again, but hey it's s start. After a scoreless first period Dennis Seidenburg ripped a slapshot from the blue line, and with almost a double screen in front, he was able to beat Lindback stick side. Our second goal was even better. Campbell shot a pass right through the middle of the offensive zone to Paille on the other side and he was able to put it in the back of the net for a one timer that just squeezed through the small opening that was there. That was a great goal, but that would be it as the Bruins win 2-0. However Montreal also won against Winnipeg so we are still tied with them in points but we have a game in hand so we remain first in the division.

So, even though I would still like to see more offensive production, this win made me feel good seeing the emotion from players. Most notably Lucic, who was a lot more involved than we have seen him lately. Lindback was also partly the reason we were't able to convert on our other chances (cause we had a lot), as he was up to the task. Next up, a Caps team that is a lot better since the last time we versed them.

Red Sox Easily Beat Astros 7-2

Hot-hitting Ortiz leads Red Sox over Astros 7-2
The Red Sox beat the Astros Thursday night, 7-2, in the series opener. With this win, the Sox have now one each of the first games in the series. The Red Sox played great all night tonight. The Red Sox took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning, from help by Carp, Ortiz, and Pedroia. They would score again throughout the game from RBI's by Middlebrooks, Salty, and Ortiz again. Ortiz went 3 for 4 tonight with 2 RBI's. And as for the pitching? Phenomenal. Buchholz did great tossing 7.2 innings giving up 6 hits, 2 runs, walking 2, and getting 10 strikeouts. Miller came in to relief Buchholz in the 8th inning and got the final out. Daniel Bard would make his season debut and return coming in the 9th inning with a 7-2 lead. He would give up a single, get a strikeout, and get all 3 outs that innings to finish the game.

So with this win, Buchholz is the first pitcher to earn 5 wins and all together he is 5-0. He looks great so far this season and I see him earning pitcher of the month for April. Also, Ortiz got his first home run of the season tonight, hitting a solo shot to center field. The Red Sox improve to 15-7 and will verse Houston again tomorrow at 7:10 PM.

Sox finish series with win over A's, 6-5

Oakland Athletics v Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox won 6-5 against the Athletics Wednesday, notice how I didn't say night BECAUSE this game started at 4. Anyways, Lester started this game and well, this start was hard to determine. I mean he gave up 6 hits and 3 runs in 5.2 innings. He also got 5 strikeouts but walked 6 people, which is bad. So maybe he wasn't feeling it tonight, maybe he didn't have control but anyways, I'll give him a quality start, earning his 4th win of the season, and 4-0 record all together. The offense did pretty good, Napoli got his 26th RBI off a double, going 1 for 2. And Stephen Drew, who has been struggling, got a triple and went 1 for 4, with 2 RBI's. The bullpen was once again struggling tonight, mainly Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara. Tazawa gave up a run and Uehara gave up a home run. But Bailey would come into the 9th to preserve the 6-5 lead, and get us the win, earning his 5th save of the season. There was a questionable hit in which, A's Jed Lowrie hit a ball that went off the chalk but was said to be foul. And if you look at where the ball went, it hit the chalk therefore being fair, but the umpires still ruled it a foul.

Anyways, with this win the Red Sox will be at home for 4 more games against the Houston Astros, who are a struggling and bad team. Clay Buchholz will be looking to earn his 5th win of the season tomorrow against the Astros, and if he does win, he will be the first pitcher in the league or AL (if Matt Harvey, Met's pitcher, loses tonight) to earn 5 wins, and will also be 5-0. Anyways, let's get 4 an easy 4 wins Red Sox!

Celtics Fall To Knicks 87-71 Head To Boston Down 2-0

Carmelo had 34 points and led the Knicks past Celtics)

Another day another 2nd half collapse. The Celtics had a 6 point lead going into the half but choked(again) honestly we should be up 2-0 in this series but instead we're down. Lets look at the stats:

Brandon Bass: 6 points and 10 rebounds

Jeff Green: 10 points

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 11 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 6 points

Paul Pierce: 18 points 6 assists and 6 rebounds

Is it time to count out the Celtics? I dont know but going to Boston we HAVE to win BOTH games if we want a chance if the Knicks take even one game, we're done.

Bruins Sloppy Play Costs Them, Lose To Flyers 5-2

Let's see if I can dig into this one.

Believe it or not, the Bruins actually came out of the gate looking good. They had the better of the offensive zone time, got some shots, and more importantly played a lot more physical which is something I think they need to play better. Anyways, despite the bruins good start the Flyers would light the lamp first on a Scott Hartnell wrist shot over the glove side of Anton Khudobin after a David Krejci turnover (the first of many to come). The Bruins would respond pretty quickly, however, when Jaromir Jagr put a shot on net and the rebound was jumped on by new Bruin Wade Reddin for his first goal as a Bruin and third of the season. It was all down hill from there though. The Flyers would regain the lead on a gorgeous goal by Matt Read, one where he got his own rebound and batted the puck out of mid air and into a wide open net. 7 seconds later Chara would throw a puck from the right corner out in front of Khudobin and it would go off his stick, through his legs, and in. That would be the night for Khoudobin as he was replaced by Rask. Sloppy defense led to a breakaway by Claude Giroux and was able to beat Rask which gave the Flyers a 4-1 lead. Krejci would then put a shot top shelf to pull the Bruins back within 2. Then 13 seconds later, to kill any thought of the Bruins coming back, Simon Gagne scored to make it 5-2, and that would be it. The Bruins had 41 shots in this game and two goals, still not scoring. And, oh yeah, Thornton had a fight.

I know the standings say we are second in the East. But I'm using my eyes, and my eyes are not showing me a playoff team.

Napoli Hits Grand Slam As Sox Beat A's 9-6

Napoli has slam, Red Sox beat Athletics
The Red Sox beat the Oakland A's 9-6 last night. The long balls helped the Sox win this one. The first home run for the Sox came in the 4th inning when Middlebrooks hit his 5th of the year, a 3 run homer, into the green monster seats. The second one came when Napoli hit it also to the green monster seats for a grand slam. And after that, the crowd got going, the Red Sox got going, and they never looked backed... Well until the 8th inning when the A's would get 3 runs but Bailey would come in to earn his 4th save of the season. Also, Doubrant did good, you could say a quality start because of the 5 walks he issued out, because if it wasn't for those walks he probably would have only given up 1 or 2 runs. He also got 8 strikeouts on the night.

Anyways, Joel Hanrahan pitched a bullpen session yesterday and he did OK. So I would consider that a good sign considering his return is soon. Also, John Lackey pitched a rehab start in Double A Portland. He will pitch one more rehab start in Triple A Pawtucket before returning to the Sox's rotation. The Red Sox will face the A's today at 6:30 again and will be looking to earn another win. Also, I've decided not to put stats in my posts anymore, I am just going to do recaps and summaries.

Red Sox Lose Both Games, Double Header Recap

Santana goes 7 innings, Royals top Sox 4-2 Kansas City Royals v Boston Red Sox - Game Two

First Game: The Red Sox lost the first game 4-2. Dempster once again did not do bad, he pitched a quality start. He fanned 8 batters, walked 3, gave up 4 earned runs on 6 hits, including one home run he let up. He still remains winless with the Sox, having an 0-2 record. Also, some things to mention is that Ortiz went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. It was a mostly quiet game and there wasn't too much action.

Second Game: Prospect pitcher Allen Webster made his major league debut this game, and to me he wasn't bad. He got off to shaky start and his first major league pitch was driven off the monster for a double. After that Pedro Ciraco made an error and a run would score. Once he got to the 2nd inning he calmed down though and continued to mow down their lineup... UNTIL the 5th inning when the Royals would hit 2 solo home runs off Webster. Webster's final stats were, 6 innings pitched, 2 earned runs off 5 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Not bad, not bad... Anyways the Red Sox would lead 4-3 up until the 8th inning when Koji Uehara gave up a solo home run, and his first earned run of the season, and the Royals would tie it up 4-4. The Red Sox went to extra innings until the 10th inning. Andrew Miller came in for relief and walked in a run, and the Royals would take a 5-4 lead. The Red Sox would have Salty, Middlebrooks, and Carp in the bottom of the 10th but they would all strike out and the Red Sox would lose 5-4 in 10 innings.

So the Sox dropped 2 in a double header, these were both very tough losses. We had the second game for most of the game but Uehara who has done great this season decides to do bad and give up a home run in his most important game so far this season in relief. Anyways, the Red Sox will look to face Oakland in a 3 game series for the next few days. After that, the Houston Astros will come to Boston for the Red Sox to get 4 easy wins in a 4 game series, yeah I said it! Well, really, the Red Sox will be looking to get back on track tomorrow.

Bruins End Losing Streak Against Panthers

Hi,

(Rask made 28 saves for his 4th shutout of the year and 15th of his carrer)

The Bruins four game losing streak has come to an end against the last place Panthers. This game did feature some offense as the Bruins came up with 3 goals. The first game came at 3:03 into the game from a wrist shot by Jaromir Jagr, his second as a Bruin, and it was assisted by new Bruin Carl Soderburg, his first NHL point. In the second period, Dougie Hamilton scored on a slap shot from the blue line with a screen in front, his 5th of the year. And Brad Marchand got into the fun to score his team leading 18th goal with a back-hander into the empty net when Florida pulled their goalie. Touukka Rask made 28 saves and got his fourth shutout of the season as the Bruins won 3-0.

So, I'm not really sure what to make of this game cause, you know, it's the Panthers. I think it was important to show that we can beat them and that Rask bounced back after Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Penguins. So, all in all, this was a feel good win for the Bruins. Now let's see if we can keep it up against the Flyers.

Hello People

Hi there,
I'm Anthony and I'm joining the site (cue the sighs), and will be posting about the Boston Bruins. This site needs a third man since it seems like it could use the help. I will apparently not be starting my Bruins posting until after tomorrows game against the Panthers since SOMEONE already did today's. I will comment though, the Bruins aren't scoring and it's as simple as that. This has been a trend for the last month and a half or so and with the playoffs coming fast now is not the right time to be slumping. Second place in the Eastern Conference is still up for grabs because luckily the Canadiens have not been playing the best hockey lately either. A perfect time to get on track is a game against the last place Eastern Conference team, the Florida Panthers. Time to prove we can still score.

Celtics Fall To Knicks 85-78 In Game 1

(Carmelo and Paul adressing the crowd. #BostonStrong)

In the 1st quarter both teams went back and fourth but the Celtics went on a run and Green hit a 3 at buzzer to give Celtics a  29-26 lead. Same in the 2nd and the Celtics had a 4 point lead going in the half. In the 3rd both teams started playing better defense and it was a 3 point Celtic lead going to the 4th and thats when collapse happened. The Celtics would only score 8 puny points i the 8th and the Knicks went on to win 85-78. Lets look at the stats:

Brandon Bass: 4 points and 10 rebounds

Jeff Green: 26 points and 7 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 8 points and 9 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 15 points and 4 assists

Paul Pierce: 21 points and 7 assists

Bench: 4 points all from the free throw line and from Lee

Unexcusable. The Celtics had a chance to steal game 1 but the turnovers cost us. The bench was doing nothing our defense was doing pretty good but no offense. Which makes game 2 a MUST win if we want a chance.

Nava Lifts Sox Past Royals Again In Emotional Day

Kansas City Royals v Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox beat the Royals Saturday 4-3, in an emotional day for Boston. Boston went through a lot this week with the Boston marathon bombing, and one day after they catch suspect 2 the Red Sox came onto the field to win. Today was the return of David Ortiz finally coming back to the lineup, being healthy. Anyways, the game ran smoothly and when the Sox were down 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th, Daniel Nava came up to the plate and hit a 3 run home run to the Red Sox bull pen. Bailey would come in the 9th to close the game and he struggled. His first batter he faced hit a home run off him and then his next batters would reach base. Bailey would manage to get the third out and save the game for the Sox.

Buchholz continues to be dominant and he was great this game. Also with this win, he starts the season out 4-0. Something notable to mention was in the 8th inning when Neil Diamond came onto the field to sing Sweet Caroline with Fenway. This was also an emotional site. Anyways, with this win the Red Sox will look to get another 2 win or at least 1, in tomorrow's double header against the Royals.

Penguins Clinch First Seed As Bruins Lose 3-2

The Bruins lost to the Penguins Saturday afternoon 3-2. The Bruins got on top first by a goal from Marchand, his 17th of the season. Pittsburgh would score to tie it up, and then they would score again, and again, and by the third period the score was 3-1. The Bruins would pull Rask and Seguin would score his 16th of the season with 2.6 seconds left to make it 3-2. Despite, the 2 second rally, the Bruins would go on to lose 3-2.

Tuukka Rask: 21 out of 24 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal
Brad Marchand: 1 Goal
Zdeno Chara: 2 Assists

So yes, it is sad the Bruins lost 2 in a row since the Boston marathon bombings... Anyways, they caught both suspects, 1 dead, and the other in custody, the younger brother. Now with that, the Red Sox will honor Boston with a special ceremony before the game. Also, the Bruins will look to get back on track next game against the Panthers.

Bruins Clinch Playoff Spot But Fall To Sabres 3-2 In Shootout On A Emotional Night

The first major sporting event in Boston since the horrific incident they held a moment of silence put a tribute video to those that helped and finally the crowd sang the National Anthem and the game got underway. Daniel Paille started off the scoring early in the first but Thomas Vanek scored on the powerplay to tie it up. Chris Kelly scored in the second to make it 2-1 at the end of 2. Cody Hodgson would score on the powerplay under a minute left to tie it and head to a shootout as the Bruins clinched a spot. Drew Stafford would be the only one to score in the shootout and give the Sabres a much needed win. Both teams saluted the crowd after the game.

Anton Khudobin: 30 out of 32 shots saved
Chris Kelly: 1 goal and 1 assist
Daniel Paille: 1 goal and 1 assist

The Bruins are now tied with Montreal for the division but the Bruins have played one less game. The playoffs start on the 30th and our next game is against the Penguins.

Balance Scoring Gives Celtics 120-88 Win Over The Magic

It sure is nice to have those two back. 7 Celtics players were in double figures as they shot 59.3% the game and beat Orlando by 32. Lets look at the stats: (I'm going to name everyone that scored in double figures)

Jeff Green: 17 points and 8 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 14 points and 5 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 14 points 9 rebounds and shot 7-8

Paul Pierce: 12 points 8 assists and 6 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 14 points

Courtney Lee: 20 points 4 assists and shot 3-3 shooting 3's and 7-10 all together

Jordan Crawford: 16 points

Ahhh its nice to see these kinds of games and with that win the Celtics lock up the 7th seed, and if they play like that in the playoffs, watch out. 2 games left in the regular season against the Pacers and Raptors. Lets end off the season on a 3 game winning streak.

'Canes End Funk, Bruins Continue Funk As They Fall To Hurricanes 4-2

Milan Lucic starts off the scoring by a deflection but Jeff Skinner would score on the powerplay to tie it at the end of 1. Jiri Tlusty would score to give the 'Canes a lead but Seguin would score to tie it at the end of 2. Former Bruin Joe Corvo would score on the Powerplay to give 'Canes a 3-2 lead and Jiri Tlusty would score on a empty netter to seal the win, there 2nd in 16 games. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 34 out of 37 shots saved
Milan Lucic: 1 goal
Tyler Seguin: 1 goal

OK someone OTHER than Rask needs to start showing up the Bruins have been playing awful lately and there goalies is saving there asses. Lucic finally gets a goal yay another 20 games before he scores again. Seguins been heating up but cmon show up they fail to clinch the playoffs again and Habs lost yesterday so they couldve tool over the division but they blew it again. Remember when the Bruins were 14-2-2 and were on of the best teams in the league? Yea those days are gone now.

Red Sox Lose Series, Fall To O's 3-2

Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones (10) congratulates relief pitcher Jim Johnson after their 3-2 win against the Boston Red Sox in a baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston, Thursday, April 11, 2013
The Red Sox lost to the Orioles 3-2 on Thursday. They finished the series getting 1 out of 3 wins overall. Alfredo Aceves was on the mound last night to fill in for Lackey and I'm not gonna lie, he did good, or decent whatever you wanna call it.

So it was a close game but the O's were the ones who shined in this 1 run game, something they were very good at last year, winning 1 run games. Anyways, the Rays VS Red Sox game will be cancelled and postponed for another day considering the bad rain that has hit Boston, and will also hit tonight too.

Bruins Fall To Islanders 2-1

Josh Bailey started off the scoring with 20 seconds left in the first to make it 1-0. Tyler Seguin would score on a powerplay to tie it. Late in the second Bailey would score again and it proved to be the game winner as Evgeni Nabacov stopped 30 to seal the win. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 34 out of 36 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 goal

So the past 2 games we scored a total of 11 goals but we only score 1 this game? Why can't the Bruins beat a playoff team. Anyway the Celtics will face the Heat today and there resting Pierce and KG but the Heat are playing there stars.......... so how about them red sox?

Hanrahan Blows Leads, Sox Lose 8-5

The Red Sox lost to the Orioles Wednesday 8-5. This was a tough one to swallow for the Sox... Both teams were tied up until the 6th, when oh look who homers again, Daniel Nava put the Sox ahead with a solo home run. Salty would follow for a back to back home run. And in came new closer Joel Hanrahan in the 9th... He let up a home run to Chris Davis, which would make it 5-4. He then was one strike away from winning the whole game but let up a hit, and that started the rally in which the Orioles would tie it up on a wild pitch from Hanrahan. AND, guess what happened next? Manny Machado hit a deep one in the green monster to give the O's a 8-5 lead.

On a side note, Stephen Drew was ready to come back and Jose Iglesias was sent down to Triple A Pawtucket. Also, David Ortiz is close to coming back. And if you didn't know, Red Sox placed John Lackey on the 15 day DL, so Aceves will be filling in his job for now. I hate Aceves... By the way, he is starting tonight.
