Bruins Gets Destroyed As Defense is Nowhere To Be Seen 7-4

Just look at how empty the Garden is in the background

The Bruins got destroyed last night against Buffalo by a score of 7-4. Ugh, where do I start? Defense was nowhere, and the Bruins got a lot of penalties, including a 5 on 3 in which 2 goals were scored. The B's defense just kept letting up 2 on 1's and great passes. And Buffalo took advantage of that. Some may argue that Rask shouldn't take the blame for this loss but 6 goals is unacceptable, even though the defense was weak tonight. Hey! At least Brad Marchand scored 2 goals. Also, for now on I'm going to only post important stats.

Tuukka Rask: 25 out of 31 shots saved
Brad Marchand: 2 Goals
Rich Peverley: 1 Goal
David Krejci: 1 Goal, 1 Hit
Patrice Bergeron: 2 Assists

So yeah this was a bad game for some of the Bruins. By that, I mean the Bruins defense and goal tending. Defense was awful tonight. They let up too many odd player positions. Also, Happy Birthday Tyler Seguin who turns 21. Guess who will be drinking tonight? Another thing to point out is that Buffalo's Thomas Vanek got a hat trick against us. Yippe... The Bruins lost in regulation for the first time this season. Well, I don't have much to say about this game, so yeah, next up we face the Leafs in Toronto. This should be interesting.

Patriots Free Agents That Need To Be Resigned + Ed Reed

I thought I'd share some of the Patriots free agents who they should resign. Well, here it goes.

Wes Welker

Ask anyone, and they'll tell you Welker had a great season this year, unless your asking bandwagon fans who are still mad about Welker dropping passes in the playoffs. Anyways, Welker finished the season with 100+ receptions and 1300+ yards, and 6 touchdowns. Welker also had some nice kick returns for us during some games. If the Patriots don't resign him, they are going to be in a hole considering they don't have that many good wide receivers. If the Patriot DO resign him, they are going to have a great year and could franchise Welker into a Pats career. So my thought is, RESIGN HIM.

Aqib Talib

Aqib Talib was thought to be a mediocre signing when the Pats signed him. He proved everyone wrong. Talib did great for us in key games. He had a lot of tackles during the Patriots - Texans playoff game. Even though he got off to a slow start, he still did good with us later in the season. If the Patriots don't resign him, it might not be that big of deal but he can help. If the Patriots DO resign him, expect a great season from him. My thought, RESIGN HIM.

Kyle Arrington

Arrington did a great job this year too. He had 63 tackles this year and helped out a lot. He was a key player for the defense this year and he's only 26 years old. If the Patriots sign  him now, we could get him at the prime of his career. I think he will benefit us during this season. If the Patriots don't resign him we could have a hole in the defense. If the Patriots do resign him, he could help out a lot. My thought is to RESIGN HIM.

Ed Reed

Yes, I know Ed Reed is not a Patriots player but I'm putting him in here because he is going to be a free agent after this Super Bowl, and the Pats need him. Ed Reed is a safety for the Baltimore Ravens, for any of you who don't know, yes I'm talking to you Abudi and Anthony... just kidding. Anyways, Reed had 58 tackles this year, along with 4 interceptions. Not his best season but he helped Baltimore in key events such as the playoffs. Let's remind you that the Ravens were 10-6 this year and started at the first round of the playoffs and are now going to play in the Super Bowl. Reed might have been quiet during the first half of the season but towards later in the season, he sprouted and became better. The only thing that would hold the Patriots back from signing him is the kick/slide issue with Tom Brady during the 2013 AFC championship game. The NFL fined Brady for the kick/slide but Reed said he didn't think Brady was trying to kick him. Anyways, if the Patriots are brave enough to ignore that, then signing him will be a good idea. If the Patriots don't sign him, it might not affect them, but if they DO resign him, Reed could make a big impact on the defense. My thought is to SIGN HIM.

So yeah, the Patriots will have to resign some of these free agents or they could face some trouble down the road for next season. Welker should definitely be signed and so should Reed. I think Welker will get resigned but Reed, I'm not so sure about yet. Anyways, what do you think about all these free agents?

Patriots Resign Linebacker Dane Fletcher

The Patriots have resigned linebacker Dane Fletcher to a one year deal. Fletcher, who will be starting his 4th season, 55 tackles in 23 games. In 2012, he was expected to be the starting linebacker but he suffered an injury. He has never really put in much work for the Pats but he could be helpful at some point. The Pats had a choice of not signing him and letting him go, but they chose to resign him. Some other key players the Pats will have choices to resign or not are Wes Welker, Aqib Talib, and Patrick Chung. Anyways, hopefully Fletcher puts in some work next season.

Red Sox Sign Lyle Overbay To Minor League Deal

Arizona Diamondbacks v Philadelphia PhilliesThe Red Sox have signed first baseman, Lyle Overbay, to a minor league deal. Overbay is 36 years old and his best season was in 2006 with the Blue Jays when he had a .312 batting average and 22 home runs to go with that. This year he had 2 home runs and 10 RBI's in 65 games. Yeah, I know, not good. Anyways, Overbay is probably going to play as a backup first baseman and will most likely be a bench player. To be honest, I think this signing is pretty useless. Just the look of this guy gives me the wrong vibes... ehh...

Celtics easily defeat Kings 99-81

(You want the Truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!)

The Celtics win there 2nd straight without Rondo and are now 22-23. Paul Pierce came up big this game and was the main reason we won. Lets look at the stats: (Note: Sullinger left the game with an injury and he was a starter so we'll just pretend Bass started)

Paul Pierce: 16 points 10 rebounds 4 assists

Brandon Bass: 12 points 4 rebounds and shot 4-7. Know thats what I want from Bass

Kevin Garnett: 13 points 9 rebounds and 5 assists

Avery Bradley: 11 points 5 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 9 points 3 assists

Nice win for the Celtics but it was expected against a bad team. Next up Magic.

Tuukka Rask Saves Game In Shootout, Win 2-1

Bruins goalie, Tuukka Rask came up big this game, saving 25 shots. If it wasn't for Rask letting in only 1 goal and saving us in the shootout, we wouldn't have won because our offense was nowhere to be seen. Well, I can't say that for everyone because we had our chances at some point, but New Jersey's backup goalie also did a superb job in net. Anyways, the only goal was scored by Nathan Horton and it was again, a late goal in the 3rd period, and it was a nice one too! The Bruins headed into over time but could not capitalize on their chances and had to settle for the shoot out. Tyler Seguin came on the ice first and scored but was forced to redo because of a certain object that was thrown on the ice and apparently distracted New Jersey's goalie. So on his second chance, what does he do? MISS THE NET! JUST KIDDING! He scores again to make sure that he did not get ripped off of his first chance. Then, Ilya Kovalchuk would score for the Devils, the only person to score in the shootout for them. Brad Marchand would score in round 6 and, after, Rask would make the save and earn us the win. Let's look at the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 25 out of 26 shots saved
Milan Lucic: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal, 2 Hits
David Krejci: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Dennis Seidenberg: 5 Hits
Andrew Ference: 6 Hits

Player Of The Game: Tuukka Rask

The B's offense had trouble this game but Seguin, Marchand, and Rask saved us in the shootout. They remain undefeated in regulation so far. Anways, next up, we verse the Sabres, should be an easy win.

Bruins Get By Hurricane With David Krejci's Late Goal

Tyler Seguin scores an empty net goal to secure win

The Bruins goal scorers played a great game but defense was a little inconsistent. The Bruins got ahead early in the first period with a 2-1 lead. Then, towards the end of the 2nd period Nathan Horton would dangle out the Cane's defense and score a great goal. But then, all in a minute, backup goalie Anton Khudobin, who was in the whole game, would let up 2 goals. Defense was one to blame for one of the goals because we let them get a 2 on 1. The game would remain tied up at 3-3 until late in the third period when rookie, Dougie Hamilton set up David Krejci for a one timer pass, Krejci would end up scoring to give us the 4-3 lead. During the last minute of the game, the Cane's would pull their goalie, and Tyler Seguin would score the empty netter to secure the lead, 5-3. Also, during the middle of that, Patrice Bergeron threw a couple of punches at a Cane's player but the referees broke it up. Let's look at the stats.

Anton Khudobin: 29 out of 32 shots saved
Milan Lucic: 6 Hits
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 2 Hits
Dougie Hamilton: 1 Assist, 2 Hits
Zdeno Chara: 1 Goal, 2 Assists, 1 Hit
Patrice Bergeron: 1 Assist
David Krejci: 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Johnny Boychuk: 1 Assist, 2 Hits
Brad Marchand: 1 Goal, 1 Hit

Player Of The Game: Zdeno Chara 3 Points

Tyler Seguin got his first goal of the season on that empty net goal. Also, Zdeno Chara had 3 points, making this his 12th, three point game of his career. Anyways, the B's will be facing the Devils tonight. It could be a tough game with old timer, 40 year old, Martin Brodeur, in net. No, I'm not being sarcastic, or maybe I am... Anyways, let's not forget this game could also be tough facing those EVIL DEVILS!

Celtics BURN Heat 100-98 in 2OT

So the Celtics beat the Heat 100-98 in double OT behind Paul Pierce's triple double, just like Rondo used to do.... more on that later. So i'm sure every Celtics fan is happy since we beat Ray Allen and the Heat right? WRONG! The win was nice it was even better since Rondo wasn't playing who hurt his knee against the Hawks.... which.....which.... MADE HIM GET SURGERY AND IS FORCED TO MISS THE @@@@@ YEAR!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?! Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 17 points 13 rebounds 10 assists

Jared Sullinger(FINALLY): 7 points 4 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 24 points 11 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 9 points 4 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 4 points

So with Rondo gone Lee and Bradley need to step up big time if we want to make the playoffs. In case you were wondering Allen got a nice ovation in the beginning but since then got booed every time he touched the ball.

Key Game: Heat VS Celtics

Pretending the last game never happened... Sunday the Celtics face there rivals Miami Heat and hoping to snap a 6 game losing streak against the NBA Champions. (Thats not going to happen). This is a key or b
ig game for a couple reasons.

1. Its the Heat vs Celtics. No matter how bad the C's are doing these games are always good. Last year the Heat defeated us in 7 games in an exciting series. The first game of the year they beat us 120-107.

2. Some guy named Ray Allen is going to be there. Not a big deal I mean it's only his first game back to Boston since he left us for the Heat.

This should be a good game but the Heat will win 101-87.

Bruins Easily Defeat Islanders 4-2

Boston's Milan Lucic fighting with New York's Matt Carkner

The Bruins easily defeated the Islanders by a score of 4-2. Tuukka Rask did a great job in net letting up only 2 goals. Also, defense rookie, Dougie Hamilton, collected 2 assists on the night. THE NEXT BOBBY ORR? I'm just joking, it's a little too early to say that... Anyways, here's the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 24 out of 26 shots saved
Gregory Campbell: 1 Goal, 1 Hit (Haha, surprise he scored)
Milan Lucic: 1 Assist, 4 Hits
Nathan Horton: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Daniel Paille: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Shawn Thornton: 1 Goal, 1 Hit
Chris Kelly: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Dougie Hamilton: 2 Assist, 2 Hits
Zdeno Chara: 1 Goal, 3 Hits
Patrice Bergeron: 1 Goal, 3 Hits
Dennis Seidenberg: 6 Hits
David Krejci: 1 Assist
Brad Marchand: 1 Assist, 2 Hits

Player Of The Game: Dougie Hamilton

So, some of the unexpected scored for the Bruins tonight, but it helped us out. Hamilton has been playing great and he could be a great defender in the future. Anyways, with this win, we move to the top of the division. Next up, we verse the Hurricanes, but don't worry, the Bruins won't let up a storm during the game.

Red Sox Outfielder, Ryan Kalish To Have Surgery On Shoulder

Ryan KalishBoston Red Sox outfielder, Ryan Kalish, who has been plagued with injuries for the past 2 seasons will get surgery next week to hail his shoulder. Kalish's shoulder was a past injury for him and this time he is going to get surgery, to hopefully heal it. Kalish will be missing spring training and will most likely, start the season in the minors. He doesn't have a big impact on us except for speed. He's more of a bench player. Even though Kalish will not have a big impact on us, this surgery could help him and he might be able to get back to his old self, which was in 2010. Who knows, maybe he will get better in hitting?

Former Red Sox Great, Pitcher, Pedro Martinez Joins Red Sox As Assistant

This was late in the season, one of the final home games for us this season, when the Red Sox were reuniting their 2004 World Series team. (I WAS AT THIS GAME)

Former, Red Sox great, Pedro Martinez has joined the Red Sox club as an assistant to general manager, Ben Cherington. Martinez joins Jason Varitek, who also joined us earlier this off season. Martinez was a great pitcher for the Red Sox and won a world series with us in 2004. He is probably one of the best Red Sox pitchers in modern day era. What Martinez's job will be is to probably work with young players and help them develop to big league players, mainly pitchers. I am glad Martinez is rejoining us, I think he is going to help out young pitchers, such as Daniel Bard, who struggled in the 2012 season. Anyways, what do you think of Martinez rejoining us? Do you think it'll help us?

Celtics Fall to Knicks 89-86

Sorry I didnt post about the Cavs game I was busy. Basically Irving dropped 40 points and the Celtics lost 95-90. Know onto this game. The Celtics made a strong fourth quarter rally but in the end Paul Pierce's turnovers cost us and we lost. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 22 points and 6 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 4 points 2 rebounds. JUST START SULLINGER ALREADY!!!

Kevin Garnett: 8 points 12 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 5 points 4 assists

Rajon Rondo: 23 points 11 assists and 10 rebounds (4th triple double of the year)

5 straight losses. It's like the 6 game winning streak never even happened. Today we face a tough Hawks team.

Bruins Fall Down To Rangers In Overtime 4-3

This was a tough loss to the Bruins, on Wednesday night. New York aka The Blue Shirts got an early lead in the first period by 2 goals from Marian Gaborick. After that, the Bruins responded with 2 goals from Brad Marchand and Milan Lucic. The Rangers would score yet again, giving them the lead at 3-2. Then, Nathan Horton gets the puck and snipes, and scores! The game would be tied at 3-3. Towards the final minute of the game, New York was getting the puck A LOT, and the Bruins goalie, Tuukka Rask was making AMAZING saves. TUUKKA TIME! Rask would send this game into overtime. Sadly, as over time started, Marian Gaborick would get a break a way and score, giving him the over time winner goal and a hat trick. Even though Rask made the save, the puck popped up and Gaborick took another shot and hit the puck in. Let's look at the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 29 out of 33 Shots Saved
Gregory Campbell: 1 Assist
Milan Lucic: 1 Goal
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal
Dougie Hamilton: 1 Assist (First Point of NHL Career)
Zdeno Chara: 1 Assist, 3 Hits
David Krejci: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Rich Peverley: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Adam McQuaid: 4 Hits

Boston defense rookie Dougie Hamilton, got his first NHL point of his career this game off an assist from Marchand. He originally took the shot but Marchand tipped it and scored. Anyways, even if the Bruins lost, they played a great game, and so did Rask. Next up we face the Islanders. Will the Bruins use their backup goalie against the Islanders Friday? What do you think?

NFL Fines Tom Brady $10,000 For Slide/Kick

So, as you see in this picture, apparently, the NFL thinks that Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, was purposely trying to kick Baltimore's Ed Reed. Even though Brady apologized to Ed Reed on phone, they still decided to fine him. Filthy, money hungry, thieves! Here's what Ed Reed had to say.

From http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/21605245/report-tom-brady-fined-10k-for-kick-to-ed-reed
"You know, I understand Brady's point," Reed told WJF-FX earlier this week. "Him protecting himself. I know he's a great player. I respect Brady and his game for all it stands for, and I know he's not a dirty player. And emotions get going in the game.

I honestly think Brady was not trying to kick Ed Reed. We all know Brady SUCKS at running so he probably just had to stop short so that he could avoid the hit. Anyways, the NFL has made this illegal so they are fining him. Anyways, what do you guys think? Did Brady deserve the fine?

Bruins Get By Jets In Shoot Out 2-1

Johnny Boychuck
Goalie Tuukka Rask and teammate Johnny Boychuk congratulate each other after the shoot out win

The Bruins played a great game today, but the post was what killed them. The Bruins hit the post 5 times and  they couldn't capitalize on their scoring chances. The only goals that were scored in regulation were in the first period. First Winnipeg scored and then we scored, evening up the game at 1-1. For the remainder of regulation, the game was tied at 1-1. The Bruins headed into over time with a penalty they had to kill. Then towards the end of over time, an unfair call was made to Bruins defense men and captain, Zdeno Chara. Apparently, while a Winnipeg player was skating hard to the net, ending up not scoring and falling into the net, Chara was holding him. The Bruins survived the penalty and headed in over time. Forwards Tyler Seguin, and Patrice Bergeron scored for Boston in the shoot out. After rookie, Chris Bourque, couldn't score in the shoot out, it all came down to Tuukka Rask to save the final shot. Winnipeg's player took the shot and hit the post, and Rask was credited with save, and the Bruins won. Let's look at the stats.

Brad Marchand: 1 Goal, 1 Hit
Tyler Seguin: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Milan Lucic: 10 Hits
Zdeno Chara: 7 Hits
Chris Bourque: 5 Hits
Tuukka Rask: 26 out of 27 Shots Saved

So overall, once again, the Bruins played great. They got a lot of hits on the Jets and Lucic led the team in hits tonight. Next up, we face the Rangers on the road. I think that game is going to be intense with rivalry.

Patriots Lose To Ravens In AFC Championship Game 28-13

Hey Guys!

Brady Down.jpg

How do I get into this? I mean, I am still mad from this loss to the Ravens in the AFC Championship game. I mean, how can we score a puny 13 points? HOW?! DOES ANYONE WANT TO TELL ME?! This post is not going to be like a regular Patriots post. No stats, no grades, just talking about the game. So the Patriots got off to a good start in the first half, outplaying the Ravens. By the end of the first half, the score was 13-7. Our defense was doing good. THEN, during the second half, our team started to collapse. Not only did our defense collapse letting up 28 points but then Brady couldn't complete passes and Welker was dropping passes. Yes, Welker did lead our offense but he wasn't doing good towards the end. Then, Patriots running back, Stevan Ridley, took a hard hit and was out for the game. The hit was so hard, it looked like he had died for a minute. Also another thing to mention is, when Ridley took this hit, he fumbled the ball and that pretty much ruined our chances of winning. Brady out played Joe Flacco in yards wise. Our offense also did out play them but the thing that kept us from scoring was Baltimore's defense. Every time we had a good chance, it was ruined. Two times we had to settle for a field goal. In the middle of all this, Gronk was in the luxury box watching us from up top. Another thing to point out is Brady threw 2 interceptions, one of them being a tipped ball that a Ravens player dived for. The second one being a plain old interception in the end zone.

This game was an emotional game for Ray Lewis and his farewell tour will extend to the Super Bowl. Even though the Ravens beat us, I want them to win in the Super Bowl because of Ray Lewis and this will be his final game of his career, in the Super Bowl. This game is going to haunt Boston for a while. I'm still mad about this game. Now what I'm about to say is the most stupid thing anyone can think of. The person who thought of this is jealous of us always winning and probably saw this loss for us a chance to make fun of us. Anyways, football fans have dubbed a new nickname called Bradying.

Man, I feel bad for Tom Brady. After all he has done for New England and this is what people come up with. Anyways, there's probably a lot of questions surrounding this loss. Most fans can't get over this lsos and neither can I, but we'll have to eventually. The Patriots had a great season but not much of a playoff run. Best of luck to Ray Lewis during the Super Bowl. Well, there's always next year...

Celtics lose 3rd straight to Pistons 103-88

Man not a good day to be a Boston fan yesterday. Patriots lose in the AFC Championship, Celtics get crushed by a terrible team, yikes. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 10 points 8 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 0 points 2 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 16 points 7 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 6 points

Maybe the Bruins could lift our minds of the Pats loss.

Bruins Defeat Rangers In Season Home Opener 3-1

The Bruins defeated the Rangers in the season home opener by a score of 3-1. Let me tell you right now, this was a very exciting game for the season opener. Lots of things happened. Boston got ahead first by getting a goal by Milan Lucic. They then would score 2 more times by goals from Daniel Paille and Johnny Boychuk. By the way, it was Boychuk's birthday. Anyways, there was also 2 fights that were literally back to back. First it was Shawn Thornton against Mike Rupp. Thornton ultimately won the fight, his first of the season. Then, Gregory Campbell drops the gloves with Stu Bickel, that fight was sort of undetermined. Also, Boston goalie, Tuukka Rask did spectacular at the net tonight saving 20 out of 21 shots. Also, rookies like Dougie Hamilton and Chris Bourque made their Bruins debut tonight. While everyone was busy underestimating the Bruins, they ended up beating the Rangers. Let's look at the stats.

Milan Lucic: 1 Goal, 4 Hits

Daniel Paille: 1 Goal

Johnny Boychuk: 1 Goal, 1 Hit

Gregory Campbell: 1 Assist, 2 Hits

Andrew Ference: 1 Assist, 1 Hit

Patrice Bergeron: 1 Assist, 1 Hit

David Krejci: 1 Assist

Tuukka Rask: 20 out 21 Shots Saved

Player of the Game: Tuukka Rask

So this was a great game played by the Bruins and so far everything looks fine. Rask put up a great performance against the highly touted players, Rick Nash and Marian Gaborick. Anyways, next up we face the Winnipeg Jets who lost yesterday. We'll fly right by the Jets and get a win.

Celtics lose in an exciting game 100-99

(Beleneli hits the game winner in OT with 3.1 seconds left)

Here comes the losing streak. The Bulls led all the way to the 3rd quarter until Rondo tied it up with under 10 minutes to go in the 4th. Bulls tie it up with 2 seconds to go by a bad call by the ref calling a jumpball instead of a foul, KG misses the game winner. Meleneli takes the lead for the bulls with 3 seconds to go in OT we had no time outs Courtney Lee misses a deep 3 and we lose. Lets look at the stats: (Avery Bradely was out this game with an injury barbosa took his place:

Paul Pierce: 13 points 6 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 10 points 2 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 16 points 7 rebounds

Leandro Barbosa: 5 points 3 rebounds

Rajon Rondo: 30 points 7 assists and fouled out with a little over a minute to go in OT

Next up a team that crushed us earlier this year, Pistons.

Red Sox, Mike Napoli Agree On 1 Year Deal

Hey Guys!

After 6 plus weeks, the Red Sox and Mike Napoli have reached a 1 one year deal for $5 million. Reports said that his former team, the Texas Rangers, offered him more money, but he chose to stick with us so that he could get playing time because the Rangers already had, Lance Berkman, AJ Pierzynski, and Mitch Moreland for DH, First Base, and Catchers position. So finally they have reached a deal and we will have a first baseman for the 2013 season if all goes well and expected. One question is: What will the Red Sox do with Napoli after the 2013 season? Well most likely they are going to see if this hip is a problem and if it isn't, they are probably going to try to resign him if he does good in 2013 and lives up to his expectations in Boston. I think Napoli is going to do very good in 2013 if he does not get injured. I'm predicting he's going to hit AT LEAST 25 home runs and AT LEAST 75 RBI's if he does not get injured. Well, what do you guys think? Comment!

World Baseball Classic Rosters Announced

Hey Guys!

The World Baseball Classic rosters have finally been announced and 2 Red Sox major leaguer's have made it. One of them being Shane Victorino, who we signed during the off season and will be representing USA. The other? Do you really want to know? ALRIGHT FINE, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW... Alfredo Aceves, who will be representing Mexico. Also, 2 Red Sox prospects have made the rosters too. One being, Xander Bogaerts, our number 1 rated prospect, will be playing for the Netherlands. The other being, Jose De La Torre, who will be playing for Puerto Rico, never heard of this guy, but who cares, not a big deal. So here's the USA World Baseball Classic Roster

Let me tell you right now, our roster looks stacked. We got Joe Mauer, JP Arencibia, Mark Teixeira, Brandon Phillips, David Wright, Adam Jones, Giancarlo Stanton, Derek Holland, RA Dickey, Kris Medlen, and Ryan Vogelsong. The pitching may not look as good as the hitting. This is probably because most teams want to keep their pitchers safe and healthy for the 2013 season. The World Baseball Classic will last for a month in March and right now USA looks like the best team. Red Sox players like Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz have stayed away from playing in the WBC because they do not want to get injured and they are still healing from past injuries. Anyways, the World Baseball Classic will be starting in March 2013 and we will be seeing USA win! Do you think their roster is good? Comment! USA! USA! USA!

Patriots Beat Texans 41-28 - Next Up, Ravens

Hey Guys!

The Patriots take the field

The Patriots somewhat kind of destroyed the Texans. Na, I can't say that. I can say that they got a securing win against the Texans, 41-28. The defense played sort of good but they did let up a lot of yards and let up 2 fourth down conversions into first down conversions. Basically, once again the Texans could not do much. At this point, I think that they just cannot beat us. Anyways, Tom Brady made a lot of nice plays including a nice long pass to Shane Vereen for a touchdown. Here's the grades.

Quarterback A

Tom Brady

Tom Brady outplayed Matt Schaub in many aspects, touchdowns, Brady never threw an interception, and Brady beat him in yards by 1 yard. Schaub had 343 yards and Brady had 344 yards. Brady did great. His main man was Welker.

Offense A

Aaron Hernandez in action

Wes Welker lead the offense in receiving and Stevan Ridley led the offense in rushing. Welker had a lot of yards in the game. Aaron Hernandez had some nice catches too. Also, Shane Vereen shined through the offense with 2 touchdown passes and catching a nice long one.

Defense B+

Chandler Jones slows down Arian Foster

The defense is getting a B+ because they were inconsistent throughout the game. I would have game them an A- but I thought about it and said no. People like, Aqib Talib, Steve Gregory, and Devin McCourty had a lot of tackles and helped during key points.

Kicking A

Stephen Gostowski made in 2 field goals and all extra points in. Zoltan Mesko also had some nice punts during the game, including a long one that helped us.

Stats (On Important Players)

Quarterback
Tom Brady: 25/40 - 344 Yards - 3 Touchdowns - 0 Interceptions

Offense: Rushing
Stevan Ridley: 15 Attempts - 82 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Shane Vereen: 7 Attempts - 41 Yards - 1 Touchdown

Receiving
Wes Welker: 8 Receptions - 131 Yards
Aaron Hernandez: 6 Receptions - 85 Yards
Shane Vereen: 5 Receptions - 83 Yards - 2 Touchdowns
Brandon Lloyd: 5 Receptions - 32 Yards - 1 Touchdown

Defense
Aqib Talib: 9 Tackles
Steve Gregory: 6 Tackles
Devin McCourty: 6 Tackles
Jerod Mayo: 5 Tackles
Brandon Spikes: 4 Tackles
Rob Ninkovich: 2 Tackles - 1 Interception

Kicking
Stephen Gostkowski: 2/2 on Field Goals 5/5 on Extra Points

So overall the Patriots all together, played a great game. With this win, Tom Brady becomes the quarterback with the most playoff wins, 17 wins, passing Joe Montana at 16. Anyways, I'm glad we won and beat the Texans. Also, Rob Gronkowski took a fall in the game and ended up getting injured. He ended up breaking his forearm again and his season is over, including the playoffs. The Pats made sure that they would move on to the AFC Championship game against the Ravens. The Ravens have been a red hot team in the playoffs so far but will they be able to handle Tom Brady and the Patriots? With Gronk getting injured, will it effect the Pats? Well we'll see next Sunday!

LET'S GO PATRIOTS!

Celtics Win 5th Straight Beat Rockets 103-91

(Sullinger played a great game with 14 points and 11 rebounds)

Houston we have lift off. The Celtics are going on a season long tear winning 5 in a row pretty easily and now improve to 19-17. They are now 4 games behind for the division and 5 games behind for the conference but still a long way to go. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 23 points and 6 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 4 points and 3 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 17 points and 8 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 14 points and 3 assists

Rajon Rondo: 12 points 8 assists 5 rebounds

So with that win the Celtics get a well deserved 2 day break before they face an improved Bobcats team from last year. They have a great record (9-26). So yea... we should be able to beat them, anything less than 10 points is a dissapointing win.

Predicting the 2013 Red Sox Roster

Hey Guys!

I thought it'd be cool if I predicted the 2013 Red Sox roster EXCEPT for pitching relievers, so here it is...

Starting Pitchers: Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, John Lackey, Ryan Dempster, Felix Doubrant
Lackey will be coming off surgery and is expected to perform better than he did in 2011. The reason? Because during the 2011 season his arm was bothering him and was injured. He has done good in his career and could do good again this year. Doubrant pitched sort of good in his first major league season last year. He did good sometimes and other times he did bad. Anyways, he is a strikeout pitcher and that is going to benefit us. Dempster's performance for this year is kind of unknown. He pitched good and  then bad and then he pitched good again towards his final starts, so nobody knows. Now, Lester and Buchholz are expected to be our ace's of the staff, mainly Lester but Buchholz can pitch good too. Lester had a bad season in 2012 but with new manager John Farrel, he is expected to improve. Same thin with Buchholz, he did sort of good and is expected to be better this year.

Others who could start this season: Franklin Morales

First Base: Mike Napoli
Mike Napoli is also expected to be good this year but has still not struck a deal with the Red Sox. Even though they haven't landed a deal, he is probably going to end up signing with us because of 1 reason. Reason: Something is wrong with his hip and no other team is going to want him. This hip injury could be nothing and may not affect him considering he won't be on his knees all the time. He'll be standing at first base. If the Red Sox make this deal, he is going to impact our team in a very good way.

Others: Minor League Player

Second Base: Dustin Pedroia
Dustin Pedroia will be starting at second base, no surprise. Pedroia had a good season in 2012 but his numbers dropped from 2011. He is a very good athletic second baseman who is probably going to have a chance at the gold glove and silver slugger award at his position. Expect a lot from him this year.

Others: Pedro Ciraco

Short Stop: Stephen Drew
Stephen Drew will likely be starting short stop for us. We signed him to a 1 year deal which means he's probably going to have him play this year to give prospect, all glove, no bat, Jose Iglesias time to work on his hitting skills. Stephen Drew had a bad year this year but he could be a little better from last year because he's healthy now.

Others: Jose Iglesias or Pedro Ciraco

Third Base: Will Middlebrooks
Will Middlebrooks was a rookie coming in to the 2012 Red Sox season. He was possibly, the biggest surprise that season because nobody expected him to be that good. He ended up doing great until August where he lacked hitting. He then was then hit by a pitch on his wrist and broke his hand, ending his rookie season. He had power and he's going to have power this year too. I can't wait to see what we get out of him.

Others: Minor League Player

Outfield: Shane Victorino, Jacoby Ellsbury, Johnny Gomes
Jacoby Ellsbury was coming off an injury shortened season where his numbers dropped. This was because he suffered an injury early in the season and didn't come back until late July/early August. He didn't have much power and the only time I can remember him doing good was when he hit a walk off hit for us against the Yankees. Anyways, this could be his last season in Boston and he is going to play up to his expectations. Shane Victorino had a career worst season this year and is going to have to improve for the Red Sox. I think he is going to do good but not all star quality. Johnny Gomes had some power this year with Oakland and he did do kind of good. He didn't play in all 162 games or even 100 games, but still helped Oakland. I think he will be like Victorino, good, but not all star good.

Others: Ryan Kalish, Daniel Nava

Catcher: Jarrod Saltalamacchia, David Ross
Saltalamachhia and Ross will probably be switching the catchers job off and on. But for the most part I see Salty starting at the catchers position. Salty was a player who either hit home runs or struck out. He had major slumps throughout the season that affected us. He is probably going to be the same as he was in 2012 but with David Ross as our backup, we can put him in when Salty is doing bad.

Others: Ryan Lavarnway

Designated Hitter: David Ortiz
David Ortiz will obviously be our Designated hitter and he could do good this year. Last year he was doing very very good before the all star break. And then after the all star break he was still doing good. But then he suffered an injury that ended his season, except for 1 game he came back to play. If this injury is no problem to Ortiz, he is probably going to do really good.

Bench: Pedro Ciraco, Ryan Kalish
This isn't that big of a spot but I want to talk about it for a little. Ciriaco was a good player but he struck out a lot. He was good at hitting and getting key hits and he also was good at defense with his glove. He is also a speedy player who is probably going to pinch hit at key moments. Ryan Kalish was a player who struggled throughout the 2012 season but is also speedy and could improve on his hitting skills this season.

Closer: Joel Hanrahan
I don't count him as a reliever. Joel Hanrahan is going to be an elite closer for us who could make the all star game again this year for the 3rd straight year. He has posted a low ERA and has also been good at what he does, closing games. The only thing to have concern about is his walks. Last year he had a high walk ratio which means he walked quite a few players. But the Red Sox aren't too worried about that so neither should we be worried.

So yeah, that's what I expect the 2013 Red Sox roster to be. Some relievers will probably be Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara, Andrew Miller, Andrew Bailey, Franklin Morales, Craig Breslow, Clayton Mortenson, and Alfredo Aceves. Yes, sadly, Alfredo Aceves... I don't know which of these relievers will be on our 25 man roster but we will see on opening day. So to sum it all up, we are going to have a good roster. Some players will be great and others will lack greatness but for the most part I think we're going to be good. Our starting pitching will bounce back from 2012 and do better. And our offense will improve and do better than last year. Hope you liked my predictions! Comment!

Baseball Hall Of Fame, Nobody Gets

Hey Guys!

Barry Bonds (left) Roger Clemens (right)

So it's been a while since I posted because there hasn't been much news but today, the baseball hall of fame results came in. AND.................................. NOBODY GOT IN! This was the first time since 1996 that no player has been elected to the Baseball Hall Of Fame. So everyone struck out on getting in because well, it was a tough ballot this year. I mean there were tons of controversial arguments about steroids and how some players like Bonds, Clemens, Piazza, and McGwire, used them. Since there has been no proof of them using steroids, we cannot say they did, but steroids were a popular thing back in the 90's because the MLB never did that many drug tests, and these players were jacked up to the max. Anyways, my vote for a player to get in would probably be Bonds or Clemens because they still dominated when MLB started doing tests. So here's the top 10 finishers.

Embedded image permalink3

So as you see, people like Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds were at the bottom probably because of controversial steroid use. I like how Curt Schilling was number 7 because it means that people want him in. Mike Piazza was number 4 for the catcher with most home runs and Craig Biggio was number 1 with 388 votes. Biggio had 3,000 hits in his career and was never really in the steroid talks. Here's what MLB had to say about this:

“Major League Baseball recognizes that election to the Hall of Fame is our game’s most extraordinary individual honor.  Achieving enshrinement in Cooperstown is difficult, as it should be, and there have been seven other years when no one was elected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.  While this year did not produce an electee, there are many worthy candidates who will merit consideration in the future.  We respect both the longstanding process that the Hall of Fame has in place and the role of the BBWAA, whose members have voted in the Hall of Fame’s elections since 1936.”

And here's what Hall Of Fame president Jeff Idelson had to say about this.

"Writers have had a lot of consternation [this year] about who they decided to pick and this made it one of the most talked about classes in history," he said. "I think we have to remember that a snap shot in time is not one ballot, but 15, the most times a player can appear on the ballot. And for some of the people on this ballot that journey is just beginning."

So yeah, nobody made it in and not everyone expected this. Next year even more great players will be on the list and it'll be a more tough choice to make. Anyways, with the Hall Of Fame announcement made, we are nearing the baseball season. Spring Training will be here in February and then March, and here come's baseball in April! I can't wait. Also, the world baseball classic will be in March. Also, one more very important thing to say.

The Patriots will be facing the Houston Texans in the 2nd round of playoffs. The Patriots crushed the Texans in their Week 14 match up but this could be a different game. I think the Patriots are going to win, but not get a blowout win. Anyways, lets rout for the Patriots and hope they win! LET'S GO PATRIOTS!

Celtics Beat Knicks 102-96

(Knicks-Celtics rivarly is back)

Hahaha I love jinxing things. The Celtics win there 3rd in a row in an exciting game, lots to talk about here. Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony got into a little scrum as KG said some things to Anthony. Carmelo later waited near the Celtics bus and yelled some stuff at KG and police came in to break it out. We won even without Rondo. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 23 points and 6 assists

Brandon Bass: 6 points and 3 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 19 points and 10 assists

Avery Bradley: 13 points and 5 assists

Jason Terry: 2 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds

Great game by the Celtics without Rondo we still won.

Rajon Rondo suspended 1 game for bumping Ref

(Last year in the playoffs Rondo bumped the ref that got him suspended 1 game)

Ugh.... Rondo when will he learn. So for the second straight year Rondo gets suspended for bumping a ref at a Hawks game. I'm starting to lose respect for him, and it just so happens he'll miss a big game against the Knicks, I thought we had a chance before the game know..... blowout. I can't believe i'm saying this but is it time to let Rondo go? Comment!

Celtics make a strong second half comeback win 89-81

The Celtics where down as many as 19 points and 16 at halftime to comeback and get another great win over a great team.(Hawks are 3rd in the conference). We used a strong 3rd quarter only allowing 9 points!!!! Lets look at the stats:( Italics stand for player of the game)

Paul Pierce: 26 points 9 rebounds and 5 assists

Brandon Bass: 10 points and 4 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 14 points 5 rebounds.

Avery Bradley: 6 points 4 rebounds

So with that we win our second straight game. Next we face our biggest challenge yet the Knicks. Remember at the all star break last season and the Celtics where 15-17 and made a strong comeback to make it to the 3rd round and pushing the eventual champions to 7 games? Deja Vu?

NHL Lockout Is Over, Reach Tentative Deal

Hey Guys!

Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr (above) met Saturday for a daylong bargaining session.

There hasn't been that much sports news lately, but today there is, THE NHL LOCKOUT IS OVER. Ok, I got a little carried away, let me rephrase that. The NHL union have reached a tentative deal that is going to end the lockout. This means that, to officially end this lockout, the deal just has to be approved by 30 league owners and 740 players, which it will most likely. They had a lot of meetings and one that lasted for 16 hours. Both sides have reached a 10 year deal. This will end a 113 day lockout! Wow, just wow. They plan on having a 50-48 game schedule so far. Gary Bettman had some words to say to the media:

"I want to thank Don Fehr," Bettman said. "We went through a tough period, but it's good to be at this point."

So pretty much, once they all approve the deal, the lockout will be over and hockey will be back. Now that the lockout is over, the Bruins have to start training, which most are already playing in other leagues and will be coming back soon. A lot of damage has been done to this season, including wiping out the Winter Classic and the All Star Game. I think the Bruins are going to be great this year and Tuukka Rask will be good  as a starter. Anyways, let's just the games going so that all the fans can watch some hockey. What do you think about this lockout? Are you happy it's finally over? Do you think the Bruins are going to be good? Comment!

Brandon Bass: 4 points and 8 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 18 points and 7 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 6 points

Rajon Rondo: 18 points and 7 assists

Bradley's debut gets spoiled as the Celtics lose to Memphis 93-83

So once again the Celtics lost to the Grizzlies 93-83. Honestly I have nothing to say for this team... lets just look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 17 points and 7 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 7 rebounds

Jason Collins: 2 points and 1 rebound

Avery Bradely: 4 points.... give him a break it was his first game back

Rajon Rondo: 11 points and 10 assists

So the Celtics lost 4 straight and there next 3 games are against the Pacers, Hawks and Knicks who have a combined record of 60-33. But look on the bright side................... I got nothing
