Red Sox 25 Man Roster

Well, finally, Spring Training is over and we can get to the regular season of baseball. Before the opening day series starts between the Yankees, I'll show you what the Red Sox 25 man roster will look like.

2013 Red Sox Roster

Pitchers: Alfredo Aceves, Andrew Bailey, Clay Buchholz (starter) , Ryan Dempster (starter), Felix Doubrant (starter), Joel Hanrahan, John Lackey (starter), Jon Lester (starter), Andrew Miller, Clayton Mortensen, Junichi Tazawa, and Koji Uehara

Catchers: David Ross and Jarrod Saltalamacchia

Infielders: Mike Carp (bench), Pedro Ciraco (short stop/bench), Jose Iglesias (short stop/bench), Will Middlebrooks (third base), Mike Napoli (first base), and Dustin Pedroia (second base)

Outfielders: Jackie Bradley Jr. (left field), Jacoby Ellsbury (center field), Jonny Gomes (left field), Daniel Nava (right field/bench), and Shane Victorino (right field)

Players on DL: Craig Breslow (pitcher), Franklin Morales (pitcher), David Ortiz (DH), Stephen Drew (short stop)

So that's what the roster will be looking like. Some people like Jackie Bradley Jr, and Jose Iglesias, would not be making the opening day roster but because of injuries to Ortiz and Drew, those players will fill in for their spots. Anyways, the Red Sox roster looks very good this year. I can't wait to see the Red Sox sweep the Yankees in the opening day series!

Jackie Bradley Jr Makes Red Sox Roster

Boston Red Sox center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr.
Highly touted outfield prospect, Jackie Bradley Jr, has made the Red Sox opening day roster. Bradley will start in left field tomorrow in Mondays opening day game against the Yankees. Since, DH David Ortiz is injured, original left fielder Jonny Gomes will be put in the DH position, and Bradley will take the left field position for now. Bradley was also seen taking batting practice at the Yankees stadium today.

This Spring Training Bradley who is 22 years old, has hit 2 home runs, and 12 RBI's with a .419 batting average. He is known for getting on base a lot, and having patience at the plate, good plate discipline.

Bradley took the news well manager, John Farrel said. Actually, Bradley got the news while on the plane to New York. Here's what Farrel said.
"Like he's handled everything else, he didn't jump up and down." "He took it in stride. I think it speaks to the maturity of where he is as a person."

I think it is great to have Bradley start the season. Even though he could be moved down to the minors when Ortiz is healthy enough to play again, it'll still be nice to see him play. Anyways, I can't wait to see the Red Sox sweep the Yankees this week!

Bruins Fall To Flyers 3-1

The Bruins lost to the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday by a score of 3-1. The Flyers scored the first goal in the first period, and then would score the second goal in the second period, making the score 2-0. Then 5 minutes into the third period the Bruins got a goal, their only lone goal, from Nathan Horton. The Bruins would pull Rask but despite having a 6 on 5 advantage they could not score another goal, and the Flyers would score the empty netter to secure the win.

Tuukka Rask: 19 out of 21 shots saved
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal

I'm starting to think that when teams see us, including bad teams, they look at us and say, "This will be an easy win, the Bruins suck at offense." And I bet they all laugh at us in the locker room too, but, of course I'm only joking. Anyways, next up the Bruins face the Sabres.

Pierce, Terry, And Green Lift Celtics To A 118-107 Victory Over Hawks

Rondo was at the building for the first time since getting his season ending injury against the Hawks

The Celtics win a offensive match between the Hawks thanks to big performances by Green Pierce and Terry. The Hawks rested there starters in the 4th and thats when you know they gave up. Big win over a good team like the Hawks. Lets look at the stats:(Note: Wilcox originally started but he was doing bad so Doc made Randolph finish the game)

Jeff Green: 27 points and 4 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 13 points

Shavlik Randolph: 9 points and 13 rebounds(career high)

Paul Pierce: 20 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists( 3rd triple double this season and 10 on his career)

Avery Bradley: 8 points and 4 assists

Honerable Mention:

Jason Terry: 24 points and shot 5-7 at 3's and 7-10 all together

Pierce gets player of the game for stepping up in everything. So the Celtics win the season series 3-1 and are now 1.5 games back for 6th. Right now the Knicks are in 2nd and as a Celtics fan i'd rather face the Pacers than the Knicks, speaking of the Knicks we face them next!

Bruins Choke Again Lose To Habs 6-5 In Shootout

The Habs got the first 2 goals by Ryder and Subban to get a 2-0 lead. The Bruins would then score 4 straight goals from Hamilton Marchand Bergaron and Horton to make it a 4-2 lead heading to the third. Price would get pulled and Budaj came in in the third.Ryder would score again to make it a 1 goal game, Seguin would then deke out Budaj to make it back to a 2 goal game. Gallighar would score less tan a minute after the goal to make it 5-4. Then on the Power Play the Habs captain Markov would tie it with 9 seconds left. In the shootout Gallighar would score the winner in the 6th round to give the Habs the win and the division lead.

Tuukka Rask: 23 out of 28 shots saved
Patrice Bergaron: 1 goal and 3 assists
Tyler Seguin: 1 goal and 2 assists
Dougie Hamilton: 1 goal
Brad Marchand: 1 goal
Nathan Horton: 1 goal

The Bruins can't win big games. Rask smashed his stick and fell after the game(HA). Also Jarome Iginla, future Hall of Famer and ex-Flames captain was supposed to be traded to the Bruins but Iggy chose Pens instead and now the Pens are the favorites to win it all.

Greens Buzzer Beater Gives Celtics 93-92 Win Over Cavs

Doc Rivers doing what he does best: Drawing up plays. Green gets his second game winner of the season( first one was against the Pacers with 0.5 seconds left) Bass had a great game, so did Green and Pierce. The Celtics went on a run when they were down by 13 and Green got it to finish the comeback. Lets look at the stats:

Jeff Green: 21 points and 7 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 22 points and 5 rebounds

Chris Wilcox: 6 points and 6 rebounds

Paul Pierce: 19 points 10 rebounds and 8 assists

Avery Bradley: 3 points

Jeff Green man what can I say about the guy, he is gonna be a star. He's meant to be with the Celtics(s ince his last name is Green!) Know lets go around the league: Heats winning streak was broken by the Bulls, the Heat had the second longest streak in the NBA with 27 straight wins. The Hawks clinched a playoff berth as did the Bulls. Lakers lost Metta World Peace for 6 weeks and Dallas is back in the hunt for the 8th seed only 1 game back for it.

Bruins Rally Beat Leafs 3-2 In Shootout

The Bruins fell early again down 2-0 but 2 goals by Lucic and Bergaron tied it up. Both Rask and Reimer played great and it went to a shootout. Seguin and Bergaron scored in the shootout and Rask stopped 2 out of the 3. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 23 out of 25 shots saved
Milan Lucic: 1 goal
Patrice Bergaron: 1 goal

Player of the Game: Milan Lucic

Lucic gets player of the game for stepping up big time not only with a goal but his strength and was all over the place. We are tied with the Habs for the division but they own the tiebreaker since the Bruins won in shootout, Habs play today against Pens then tomorrow against the Bruins. LETS GO BRUINS!

Bruins Rally Late, But Fall Short To Leafs, Lose 3-2

The Bruins lost to the Maple Leafs Saturday night by a score of 3-2. The Bruins offense had a ton of shots, but as for the Leafs, they only had 13 shots... And 3 of them got by back up goalie, Anton Khudobin. The Leafs scored early in the third and Khudobin was pulled after that, and Rask came in to relieve. The Bruins would also score early in the third to make the game 3-1. And then, with under 2 minutes left in the third the Bruins scored again to make the score 3-2. Sadly, they could not come back, and they would go on to lose to the Leafs 3-2.

Anton Khudobin: 8 out of 11 shots saved
Tuukka Rask: 2 out of 2 shots saved

Andrew Ference: 1 Goal
Dennis Seidenberg: 1 Goal

So, this was the first time a Bruins goalie was pulled this season, I mean it's not anything to worry about, every goalie has a bad game, and besides, he is a backup. Anyways, next up we face the Leafs again at home, time to get revenge...

Celtics Rally Comes Up Short Fall To Grizzlies 110-106

The Celtics were down by 21 in the 4th and after Doc Rivers got a technical the Celtics went on a 25-6 run to bring it within 2 but in the end turnovers cost us and the Celtics lose there 4th straight. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 26 points and 5 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 6 points and 6 rebounds

Jeff Green: 12 points and 5 rebounds

Jason Terry: 10 points

Avery Bradley: 8 points

Courtney Lee and Kevin Garnett did not play this game due to injuries. Jordan Crawford scored 14 of his 21 points in the 4th and was a big part of the rally. We face the Knicks next but it doesnt matter we aren't winning the division lets just try to avoid the 8th seed.

Dallas Beats Boston 104-94

]]

I swear Dirk just loves playing the Celtics since out of current NBA players he averages the most against us, second being Lebron. These last few losses pretty much wipeout any chance for home court advantage, oh well. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 16 points and 5 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 16 points and 11 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 16 points and 12 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 5 points

Avery Bradley: 9 points

Courtney Lee got injured in the knee during the game and no updates on him yet, but is probably playing today's game against Grizzlies.... yay another loss.

Late Goal Gives Bruins 2-1 Win Over Sens

The Bruins continue there dominance in Ottawa winning there 11th straight at Ottawa and snapped there 2 game losing streak. Kaspars Daugavins got the scoring off with a nice wrister that beat Khudobin. Daniel Paille gets his 6th of his season with his own wrister. With 1:04 left Bergaron wins a faceoff and Chara sets up Dennis Seidenberg for his 1st of the year. Note: Peverly was scratched this game and the Bruins kinda only used 3 lines as Caron's and Pondolfo's time were limited. Lets look at stats:

Anton Khudobin: 27 out of 28 shots saved
Daniel Paille: 1 goal
Dennis Seidenberg: 1 goal

Player of the Game: Anton Khudobin

This one was a clear cut winner, Khudobin played great like usual making key saves, i'm not saying he's better than Rask though, Tuukka is still our main guy but its nice to have a good back up. So we face the Leafs on a back to back, 2 easy wins right there. Celtics play Dallas today in Terry's first game back there. Should be good.

Bruins Fall To Jets 3-1

Whats with the Bruins blowing leads? Marchand scored 8 seconds into the second for his 13th of the season, Blake Wheeler scored a PPG in the 3rd to tie it. Evander Kane would score on a bad rebound by Rask and Wheeler would add an empty netter to finish the Bruins off. Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec played good with 27 saves. Lets look at the stats:

Brad Marchand: 1 goal

Tuukka Rask: 22 out of 24 shots saved

I know this is late but I dont care. I'll be posting for the rest of the week. I know I know save your cheers. NO DJ FOR A WEEK WOOT!

Celtics Road Woes Continue, Fall To Hornets 87-86

The Celtics are bad on the road, fine not bad, HORRIBLE. The Celtics blew a 13 point lead to the Hornets and Anthony Davis got a tip in with 0.3 seconds left to win it. Blalalalalala lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 28 points and 5 assists

Brandon Bass: 11 points and 6 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 20 points and 6 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 5 points

Avery Bradley: 5 points and 5 rebounds

Not a good way to start a road trip. That loss really STUNG!!

Heat Win 23rd Straight Edge Celtics 105-103 In Thriller

What a dissapointing game this was. We blew a 17 point lead, we blew multiple leads after that , Jason Terry gets posterized by Lebron James, and Jeff Greens effort goes to waste. Lebron James who finished with 37 points, hit a clutch jumper with 10 seconds left and the Celtics used there final timeout. Green drove to the basket but the ball went out of bounds of Green but the officials said it was off a Heat and with 7 seconds left what do they do? They give it to Pierce who shoots it IMMEDIATELY for 3 and of course misses, I mean come on! Try to tie it. Damn. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 17 points 8 rebounds and 8 assists but had 7 turnovers

Jeff Green: 43 points 7 rebounds and shot 14-21

Brandon Bass: 6 points and 5 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 13 points and 4 assists

Avery Bradley: 7 points

So with that the Heat clinched there division and the Celtics are 3.5 games back for there, impossible? No. Unlikely? Yes. Next up Hornets/Pelicans.

Penguins Edge Bruins 2-1

(David Krejci leaving the game after getting hit by a shot from Boychuk)

It seems that the Penguins always have the Bruins number. The Penguins beat the Bruins 2-1 and take over the #1 seed for the East. In the 1st period after a mad scramble Chris Kunitz finds who else but Sidney Crosby for a one timer that Rask and got through some bodies. Seguin would tie it a few minutes later on a similar goal for his 10th of the season. With 30 seconds left in the 1st Rask let up a bad rebound and it came to Joe Vitale who roofed it on Rask and that proved to be the game winner as Vokoun would shut the door and make 31 saves. Lets look at the stats:

Tuuka Rask: 16 of 18 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal

As I mentioned earlier Krejci got hit by a shot, luckily no bones were broken but is questionable for tomorrow's game against the Jets. With the Bruins know only 1 game in hand and 1 point away it looks like the Habs might take over the division but still to early to tell. WE INTERRUPT THIS POST WITH SOME BREAKING CELTICS NEWS: The Celtics will be facing the red hot Heat who have won 22 in a row and EXACTLY 4 years ago the Celtics broke Rockets 22 game winning streak, coincidence? I think not! Kevin Garnett is questionable this game. I now return you to your daily NHL post. So with that we face the Jets next should be a good one.

Celtics Get There Revenge, Rout Bobcats 105-88

The Celtics win there 11th straight home game easily by beating the Bobcats 105-88. Kevin Garnett did NOT play this game due to a strain in his left leg and is day to day. Pierce played this game but Doc sat Pierce out the entire 4th quarter since we had a big lead. Randolph Shavilik had a team high 8 rebounds in just 15 minutes. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 14 points 8 assists and 6 rebounds

Jeff Green: 10 points and 5 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 10 points and 6 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 12 points and 5 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 13 points

Honerable Mention:

Jason Terry: 15 points shot 3-3 shooting 3's and 5-6 all together

Jason Terry gets player of the game for excellent shooting. Next up we face the red hot Heat who have won 21 in a row!

Patriots Resign Aqib Talib, But Release Brandon Lloyd... Idiots...

The Patriots resigned Aqib Talib Saturday for a one year deal. Aqib Talib came to the Patriots via trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right before the NFL trade deadline, was one of the few only trades this season.

Talib did good with us and recorded 19 tackles with the Patriots in his 6 games played with us. As the season went by, Talib looked as our best corner back. In the playoffs, he recorded 10 tackles before getting injured in the AFC championship game against the Ravens, let's not get into that game...

Anyways let's talk about Brandon Lloyd and what happened. The Patriots decided they did not need another wide receiver on the team because they released one our of top wide receivers from last season. Lloyd had 74 catches for 911 yards and 4 touchdowns this season with the Pats, one of his best. Why the Patriots released him? Well there can be many answers, one is that he is 31, but I don't know if they consider that too old. Another reason may be because he was set to make $1.9 million, but with all his bonuses, he was supposed to end up getting $5 million. So is there a chance the Pats could still resign Lloyd, just for cheaper money? Yes, of course, but it could also not happen, who knows.

The Patriots also resigned corner back Kyle Arrington to a 5 year deal, and veteran safety Adrian Wilson. So with the newly signings of those 2 cornerbacks, I think the Patriots defense will be better, just because of them. One problem they may have this season is their offense if they don't find a way to improve their offense. Anyways, there is more to happen in the future, so let's see.

Also before I end this post, I had to mention this. Tom Brady agreed to a extension deal that was cheap to help the Patriots with their money problems. Now, that the Patriots have more money, why aren't they going out of their way to resign or keep certain key players? It just doesn't make sense. I wonder what Brady thinks of all this...

BRUINS CRUSH CAPITALS 10-0... Just Kidding (read more)

THE BRUINS CRUSHED THE CAPITALS 10-0 SATURDAY!!!! Just kidding of course, because we'll probably never see games like that anymore. Ok so I was joking, they really won by a score of 4-1. Man, there was a lot that happened in this game, of course the games we all don't see, the most happens. For example, Nathan Horton got a Gordie Howe Hat Trick (1 goal, 1 assist, a fight). Brad Marchand also got into a fight, something you barely see because he's a forward, and Adam McQuaid also fought. David Krejci also earned his 300th NHL point in that game. Let's look the stats.

Anton Khudobin: 32 out of 33 shots saved
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal, 2 assists
Andrew Ference: 1 Goal
David Krejci: 1 Goal, 2 assists
Rich Peverly: 1 Goal
Milan Lucic: 3 assists

This was a tough one but...

Player Of The Game Goes To Nathan Horton
That was tough choice deciding between Horton, Kreji, Lucic, or Khudobin, but Horton deserved it after coming out of slump this game. If you want to look at it this way, Horton, Krejci, and Lucic combined for 9 points all together in the game. Anyways, next up the Bruins face the Penguins and they will be looking to beat them after the Penguins made a late game rally to comeback last game. This should be a very good one, too bad I won't be watching it...

Rask Saves The Day As Bruins Top Panthers 4-1

2 U's 2 K's 2 Points! Tuuka Rask comes up big today saving 29 shots as the Bruins were playing terrible with the turnovers but Rask bailed them out. Zdeno Chara started off the scoring with a slap shot that beat Panthers goalie Scott Clemmensen. Patrice Bergaron scored from a beutiful play by Marchand and Seguin, possibly one of the hottest lines in the NHL. Shawn Matthias would score a short handed goal(first shortie Bruins allowed this season) on a highlight reel goal as he got tripped up with Dougie Hamilton got up and scored. The Bruins had a lifeless second period and it looked like it was going to be another lead blown but Shawn Thorton got his own rebound and made it back a 2 goal game. Bergy would add an empty netter and that was that. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 29 out of 30 shots saved
Patrice Bergaron: 2 goals
Shawn Thorton: 1 goal
Zdeno Chara: 1 goal
Brad Marchand: 2 assists

A win is a win but we arent going to win if we play like this against good teams. Next up the struggling Washington Capitals.

The Celtics took out there anger on the Raptors as they pummeled the Raptors 112-88 as KG passed Jerry West for 15th in the NBA all time scoring list and Pierce passed Charles Barkely for 20th all time in the NBA all time scoring list AND passed Allen Iverson for 10th all time in free throws made. The Celtics scored 63 second half points and went on to beat the Raptors by 24. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 15 points and 4 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 11 points and 6 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 7 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 11 points and 4 assists

Avery Bradley: 5 points and 3 assists

Pierce and KG get the players of the game for there milestones. Next up they face the Bobcats, hopefully we beat them by 30.

Patriots Find Replacement, Sign Danny Amendola

The Patriots have found a replacement for ex-patriot wide receiver, Wes Welker, and that is Danny Amendola, who had an OK season with the St. Louis Rams this year. The deal for Amendola is worth $31 million and is a 5 year deal. There's something that's unique about this deal, and it's that Amendola will be paid close to the same amount of money per year as Wes Welker. Welker is expected to get $6 million a year while Amendola is expected to get $6.1 million a year. Is this a message to Wes Welker? Coincidence? I think not...

Anyways, Amendola is not as good as Welker but he's expected to help out the Pats in the receive role. This season, Amendola caught for 666 yards on 63 receptions, along with 3 touchdowns. Injuries limited his season and he missed 5 games in 2012, and almost the whole 2011 season.

Let's compare Amendola and Welker. Amendola has a bit more speed, but he can not compare to Tom Brady and Welker's match up. Amendola has also gotten more injuries over the past seasons. Welker only missed 3 games since 2005, which valued us a lot.

So, now the Patriots got Amendola, Lloyd, Hernandez, and Gronk on their receivers/tight end list. It has been known that a lot of players don't succeed after they leave the Patriots, most likely because we have Tom Brady and we are a great team. With Tom Brady throwing to Amendola this season, we might be able to turn him into a good receiver, but who really knows. We'll have to see when the season starts. All I know is that the Patriots will have some options and Amendola can really help fill the receiver spot. I'm happy Welker is gone, I'm glad he's gone, unloyal piece of shit. Na, I can't say that about him...

WES WELKER IS GONE, Signs With Broncos And Rival Quarterback Peyton Manning

Wes Welker has been catching passes for the last six years from Tom Brady, but has decided to leave as a free agent to join the Denver Broncos. (AP Photo/Elise Amendola)
WELL! There you have it! Newly Ex-Patriot wide receiver Wes Welker has signed with the Denver Broncos and rival quarterback Peyton Manning. I seriously do not know what to say... I mean, what an unloyal mother fu.... piece of sh..... son of a bit.... assho.... All in all, he is an unloyal player now.

Ok, so Welker was reported to get a deal from the Patriots earlier today but it was a deal that did not benefit him. Apparently, the deal was not enough money for Welker, once again earlier today, and but it was not talked about that much because it was not confirmed. Anyways, then about an hour and a half from 6 o clock on the east coast, there had been reports of Welker getting a deal from the Broncos. Then about 10-15 minutes later from that, you hear all over on ESPN, NFL.com, news channel, any football/sports related thing, that Welker had signed with the Broncos and was no longer a Patriot.

All over New England, they had gotten shocked. Ok, we knew there was a bigger chance of the Patriots not signing Welker, but to the Broncos?!?! Well, who knew where Welker would go. There were a lot of reasons why Welker did not want to sign with the Patriots, but the main reasons were because of disrespect, such as when the Patriots would play other players more in some games, or if Welker wasn't valued as much. And then money all tied into this. Welker did not think he was valued enough in New England because they did not offer him enough money that he wanted.

Anyways, Welker will now move from Tom Brady to Peyton Manning for a quarterback to throw to him. Welker had a good season in 2012 and good stats. Maybe the Patriots should have offered him more money since they lowered their salary cap from Tom Brady's extension deal. Still, I don't think the Patriots will be bad this season because they don't have Welker. A lot of stats show that Welker's catches were not of big yards, usually smaller yards per catch. Still, he had the ability to catch, except in the playoffs where he drops everything. The Pats still have Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd, and they still have the chance of signing Julian Edelman, to have good tight ends/wide receivers. Also, the Patriots could still convert Shane Vereen into a wide receiver instead of a running back, which seems like a better spot for him but it's the Patriots decision. Anyways, the Patriots could still be shopping around for free agents to add on the roster, we'll see what happens down the road.

Bruins Blow Lead, Lose To Pens 3-2

The Bruins lost to the Penguins Tuesday night 3-2. There is a lot to talk about, but I'll talk about the 2 main things that happened in this game.

1. The Bruins led all the way up until the final 6 minutes, when Pittsburgh had scored there first goal of the game. Ok, so no panic, Pittsburgh won't score again, Khudobin's got this, but wait, WHAT?! Suddenly, the Penguins scored ANOTHER goal and were rallying for the win. And once again, the Penguins would score another goal to complete the comeback and win the game. The Bruins had small chances in the final seconds, but could not score, and lost.

2. Ok the second thing is the ridiculous low amount of shots we had in the game. All together the Bruins had 16 shots, WOW. Just wow, I'm going to leave it at that.

Anton Khudobin: 31 out of 34 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal
Zdeno Chara: 1 Goal

The Bruins offense wasn't anywhere to be seen, to me, they got lucky goals because their only goals game on the first 5 shots of the game from them, and they never scored again. Backup, Khudobin played great especially against a team who has 3 great goal scorers this season (Crosby, Neal, Kunitz). Anyways, the whole team really collapsed and fell apart towards the end because the last goal was a 2 on 1, which our defense played great up until then. So, now that this is over with we face the Panthers next, who shouldn't be a problem considering they lead the league in most goals allowed with 101. And I can't help but mention this, the Bruins have the fewest goals let up this season so far with 53 goals let up.

No Pierce? BIG PROBLEM, Bobcats Rout Celtics 100-74

Man, Henderson went off last night scoring 35 points as the Bobcats destroyed the Celtics 100-74. I can't really think of an excuse for this one other than that Pierce didn't play last night but oh well at least we won't be seeing them in the playoffs. Lets look at the stats:

Jeff Green: 14 points and 3 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 10 points and 7 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 5 points and shot 2-10

Courtney Lee: 6 points and 4 assists

Avery Bradley: 10 points and 4 rebounds

DJ White played his first game with the Celtics and had 3 points and 4 rebounds and Randolph had 4 points and 4 rebounds. Next up the Raptors.

Bruins Edge Past Senators 3-2 In Shootout

The Bruins beat the Senators in a shootout 3-2 Monday night. The Senators were quick to score and grab the lead, with a 2-0 lead. But the Bruins would only comeback down 2-0, and tie it up from a breakaway goal by Daniel Paille. Both teams would get plenty of chances, but as the clock ran down, the game would go into over time. The Senators got some really nice chances in over time, and Gregory Campbell almost scored for the Bruins towards the end of over time. Then here comes the shootout, both teams would score in the second round, but would both fail in the third round. Then, came the fourth round when Senators K. Daugavins did a great shoot out attempt to score, a backhander too. But on David Krejci's 400th NHL game, he scored in the shootout to give the B's the win.

Tuukka Rask: 30 out of 32 shots saved
Shawn Thornton: 1 Goal
Daniel Paille: 1 Goal

Player Of The Game: Tuukka Rask

Rask is TU good (joke from Abudi). Also, Bruins Chris Kelly got injured on a knee collision, and is out for tonight's game, but nothing is heard about when he'll be back. Anyways, a number of milestones were set during this game, Zdeno Chara was playing in his 500th game with the Bruins, David Krejci was playing in his 400th NHL game all together (all with the Bruins), and Bruins head coach Claude Julien tied Milt Schmidt for all time Bruins win list as a coach, with 245 wins. Julien has a long way to go to become the Bruins all time win list coach, but he could get if he remains a Bruins coach for many years, because hey, he's only 52 years old. Anyways, tonight the Bruins face the Penguins in Pittsburgh. I think this will be a high scoring game for both teams considering Penguins goalie, Fluery has struggled lately, and really, do you think Khudobin will stop the Penguins, Sidney Crosby, James Neal, and Chris Kunitz from scoring? I didn't think so...

Celtics lose to Thunder 91-79

(Kevin Durant as usual had a great game for OKC with 23 points and 10 rebounds)

You can't win them all. Celtics put up a good fight against a great team like the Thunder but in the 4th they shot 4-22 and it cost them. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 20 points and 6 assists

Brandon Bass: 6 points and 13 rebounds( Career high)

Kevin Garnett: 10 points and 11 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 8 points and 4 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 12 points and 5 assists

This was Jeff Green's first game at OKC since being traded and he got a nice standing ovation. Next up we face a team that beat us earlier this season: Charlotte Bobcats.

Bruins Beat And Shutout Flyers 3-0

Boston Bruins left wing Daniel Paille (20) celebrated with teammates after his goal gave Boston a 3-0 lead in the first period.

The Bruins beat the Flyers on Saturday, 3-0. The Bruins got on top early, once again. They scored 3 straight goals in the first period and never scored again, but hey, the Flyers didn't score at all. This was a reenactment of the Capitals game, when we played them, except the one difference was that the Bruins did not blow their lead. Let's look at the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 23 out of 23 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal
Daniel Paille: 1 Goal
Chris Kelly: 1 Goal

Player Of The Game: Tuukka Rask

Chris Kelly reached a milestone today, getting his 200th career point. Rask didn't face that many shots but still, he stopped a team who can score. Shawn Thornton also fought this game, and has stepped it up in his fights lately. AND, Seguin has also stepped it up scoring more goals. Anyways, next up we face the Senators, I think we'll win.

Celtics Survive Hawks In OT Win 107-102

Enough with the close game Celtics, you're going to give your fans a heart attack. The Celtics won there 5th in a row and 9th in a row at home as they survived Hawks late rally. The Hawks came back after being down and tied it with 25 seconds. The Celtics had a chance for the win but Pierce missed the jumper and Hawks grabbed the rebound with 2 seconds left to win it, they went to Josh Smith but he missed the jumber and the Celtics headed to there 11th overtime of the season. After back and forth action and 3 points by Green, Smith, and Pierce we were all tied up with 30 seconds. Then Jason Terry hit a clutch 3 to give the Celtics a 3 point lead, Hawks would turn it over and Terry sealed the deal with 2 free throws. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 27 points 7 rebounds and 7 assists

Brandon Bass: 8 points and 2 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 17 points and 8 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 4 points and 4 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 5 points and 4 assists

Honorable Mention:

Jason Terry: 19 points 5 assists and went 3-4 shooting 3's

I was tempted to give Terry player of the game but Pierce played great and it was hard not to give it to him. I have been dissapointed in Courtney Lee lately, hasnt been doing good and hasn't been putting much points. Anyway with that win the Celtics are tied with the Hawks for 6th but own the tiebreaker, Bulls won so they won't be moving up. Next up we face the Thunder who are 27-4 at home. Should be a good one.

Bruins Beat Leafs 4-2

The Bruins broke their 2 game losing streak, and beat the Leafs 4-2. The Bruins got on top at first with a goal from Bergy. Then, Leafs new sniper, Nazem Kadri scored a tip in goal. Hey! Guess who scored next? Tyler Seguin! It's a miracle!! Just kidding... Anyways, Krejci would score the next goal and then in the third the Leafs would score next making the score 3-2 in the third. SEGUIN, yes Seguin, would score another goal, BUT, it was an empty netter. Ok I'll stop with the Seguin jokes.

Anton Khudobin: 25 out of 27 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 2 Goals, 1 Assist
Patrice Bergeron: 1 Goal, 2 Assists
David Krejci: 1 Goal

Player Of The Game: Tyler Seguin, 3 Points Total

So, 2 Bruins players got 3 points each on the night, Seguin and Bergeron, respectively. Ok, so back to Seguin, I don't think he is a bad player, he was just in slump, and it seems as if he is out of it now. Let's talk about the conferences for a minute. The west conference is looking at Dallas in the 8th seed, shocker, and St Louis struggling for a playoff spot. And then you got teams who were struggling earlier in the season, like the Kings, who are suddenly back in the playoff spots. And then you have Chicago who leads with 45 points, no words, just no words... Now let's talk about the eastern conference. You have teams in the final 8th seed spot like the Rangers and Flyers struggling to keep the playoff spot, who both are usually top teams in the conferences. THEN, you have New Jersey who has struggled lately losing great goalie, Martin Brodeur to an injury, and he is still not back. And what's this, now Carolina is in 3rd place in the conference, and they are behind the Penguins, who are in 2nd with 32 points. Then you got the Habs who are in first with 34 points. Now let's look at the 4th place spot, which are the Bruins. The Bruins could have took first in the conference if the Canadians lost, but sadly they haven't. Let's not forget that the Habs have a few more games played than us, so it's not entirely fair YET... BUT it will be when we catch up and play more games. Ok so once the Bruins take first in the division, they will take first in the conference, hopefully. Anyways, next up we face the Flyers, who lost 5-4 to the Penguins Thursday night, and will be trying to win to get to a struggling playoff spot.

Celtics Edge Pacers 83-81

The Celtics edged the Pacers 83-81 in there BEST win of the year. It was especially great cause it was against a great team like the Pacers in there home court on the 2nd day of a back to back. Celtics were down 9 with under 5 minutes left but went on a 9-0 run to tie it up. The Celtics had a chance to win it with 23 seconds left and Doc was at it again drawing up a great play. 2 Pacers defender was on Pierce who made a nice effort to block West and KG passed it to Green who hit the layup with 0.5 seconds left to take the lead. Pacers had one last chance they tried an alley oop but Pierce was there to block it. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 13 points and 8 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 4 points and 6 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 18 points 10 rebounds and shot 7-10 and even made a 3 pointer!

Courtney Lee: 6 points and 4 rebounds

Avery Bradley: 13 points and 4 assists

Kevin Garnett gets player of the game for his excellent performance and he is now 10th all time in rebounds. Congrats KG.The Celtics are now .5 games behind the Bulls and 1 game behind the Hawks. We have a big game against the Hawks tomorrow and a win would put is in 6th place and maybe in 5th if the Bulls lose. LETS GO CELTICS!

Bruins Blow Lead, Lose To Capitals

Where do I start? I guess I'll say that the Bruins lost 4-3 in OT... So the Bruins got ahead very early in the game, right in the first period, getting a 3-0 lead. I mean, they had great goals in the first period.  But then, they would let up 3 unanswered goals by the Capitals and send the game into overtime. And of course, OF COURSE, the Capitals sealed the deal by winning it. Let me explain, the defense played sloppy through the end of the game, and heading into over time, they let up sort of a breakaway. Capitals Eric Fehr broke through TWO Bruin defenders that were still sort of defending him and somehow STILL got a shot on net, which would be the game winning over time goal for the Capitals. They were covering him, but he took an awful weird shot and it somehow went top shelf and got by Rask...

Tuukka Rask: 22 out of 26 shots saved
Brad Marchand: 1 Goal
Zdeno Chara: 1 Goal
Dougie Hamilton: 1 Goal
David Krejci: 2 Assists

So, obviously, Rask didn't have his best night last night, and neither did the defense. Even though Rask has let up 8 goals in the past 2 games, there's no need to lose hope on Rask. I still think he is a great goalie, and he's just been struggling the past 2 games. Besides, the Bruins always have trouble with the Caps, even when Thomas was our goalie... Anyways, next up we face the Leafs.

Celtics Beat 76ers 109-101

76ers are done put a dent in them adios 76ers won't be seeing you guys in the playoffs have fun watching Celtics. Celtics got off to a slow start in the first quarter but they turned it around going on a little run and never looked back. 76ers came close to tying it several times but the Celtics held on to the lead(unlike the Bruins). Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 18 points 11 rebounds 7 assists and shot 4-4 shooting 3's

Brandon Bass: 5 points and 4 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 18 points and 6 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 5 points and 4 assists

Avery Bradley: 22 points 7 rebounds 5 assists and shot 10-15

Avery Bradley gets his first player of the game with an excellent performance at one point shooting 9-10. So this where the Celtics begin there playoff push, I know the Celtics are currently in a playoff spot and most likely will make the playoffs unless they make a historic collapse( like the Red Sox 2 seasons ago). The Celtics are only 1.5 games back of 4th seed which will grant them home court advantage. Celtics most likely won't win the division this year so they should be going for the 4th seed. If the Celtics stayed in the 7th seed though they'll be facing the defensive Pacers. Oh by the way we're facing them today. BIG GAME!

Red Sox Prospect Drake Britton Arrested For Drunk Driving

Boston Red Sox prospect, 23 year old Drake Bitton, was arrested for drunk driving in Florida, in Fort Myers. This was Britton's first spring training season, and his first time playing with the Red Sox, considering he's been in the minors. Britton was driving 111 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Here's what ESPN Boston Gordon Edes said.

The arrest occurred at 4:42 a.m. Saturday, on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway in Estero, which is adjacent to Fort Myers. According to the arrest report, Britton, who was driving a 2008 black Chevrolet Silverado (a pickup truck), was paced at a maximum speed of 111 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone. With a police car in pursuit, Britton's truck swerved in between other moving vehicles and jumped over a curb, continuing down a small decline and knocking down a barbed-wire fence, according to the police report. Britton then continued down a dirt road for a quarter of a mile and attempted to pull into a wooded area before coming to a stop. When the officer approached and asked for his license, Britton first handed him his debit card.

Britton is one of our best/top pitching prospects, but he is a reliever. So once again, another incident for a Red Sox prospect... Sigh... Anyways, this is not going to ruin his career, hopefully we'll see him in Spring Training soon.

Bruins Fall To Canadians In Close Game 4-3

The Bruins lost to the Canadians 4-3 Sunday night. They played a great game last night. Montreal scored first but the Bruins would respond to tie it 1-1, and by the end of the 1st period, the Habs took the 2-1 lead. Then into the 2nd period the Bruins tied it 2-2. And then the Bruins took their first lead of the game in the 2nd period, with a little help from a goal by Dougie Hamilton. Heading into the 3rd period the Bruins had the 3-2 lead but Montreal would score 2 unanswered goals in the 3rd, and that would give them the 4-3 lead. The Bruins had a couple of good chances in the final minutes when they pulled goalie Tuukka Rask, but they could not score. Let's look at the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 22 out of 26 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Dougie Hamilton: 1 Goal
Patrice Bergeron: 1 Goal, 2 Assists
Brad Marchand: 3 Assists

Also, some things to mention is, Seguin was hit and it kind of looked like a cheap shot, so big man captain Zdeno Chara stepped in and fought the guy who hit Seguin. Now that's what a captain is for, to stand up for your teammates. Seguin did not get to see the fight because he went into the locker room after getting hit, but he talked to Chara and thanked him after the game. Chara received a 10 game misconduct, and Seguin was not injured after the game. Also, Bergeron and Marchand both had 3 points on the night. Anyways, next up we face the Capitals, who knocked out the Bruins out of the playoffs last year in the first round, but have been strutting this year, should be a good match up.

Bruins Comeback To Beat Lightning 3-2

The Bruins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday by a score of 3-2. This was a good game for the Bruins and they made a nice comeback win after being down 2-0 in the first period. The Bruins tied it up 2-2 in the second period, and headed to the third period. Then with 2 minutes left in the third period, Bruins, Brad Marchand scored on a 2 on 1 man rush, on the power play to give the Bruins the lead with under 2 minutes left. Lets look at the stats.

Anton Khudobin: 20 out of 22 shots saved
Tyler Seguin: 1 Goal
Rich Peverly: 1 Goal
Brad Marchand: 1 Goal (Game Winning Goal)

Player Of The Game: Brad Marchand

This was a great game and the Bruins deserved the win. Brad Marchand has been on fire lately and like I said before I think he's going to be our best scorer this season. This win put the Bruins on top at first in the division now, and not only the division, but we are also in first in the eastern conference with 30 points. In 2nd is Pittsburgh with 26 points. Next up we face the Canadians, who have been playing really good lately, I think the Bruins will win though.

Celtics Contain Curry, Edge Warriors 94-86

No photos for this game sorry.

The Celtics defeated the Warriors 94-86. It was an up and down battle. Avery Bradley did a great job defending Curry and our offense came up clutch in the right time. We held the Warriors to 34% shooting and held Curry to 6-22 shooting and 25 points. Jeff Green got 18 points off the bench and Wilcox had his best game of the season with 8 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 4-4. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 26 points 8 rebounds but 7 turnovers

Brandon Bass: 8 points 4 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 7 points 13 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 8 points and 4 assists

Avery Bradley: 8 points 2 rebounds

Now lets talk about some signings the Celtics made. They signed DJ White to a 10 day contract who played with the Bobcats last year, and a signing that I really liked in which they signed Terence Williams to a 2 year deal, the rest of this year and the next year. So good signings for the Celtics lets hope the DJ White guy is good but when his first name is that...... I doubt it.

Bruins Edge Senators 2-1 in OT

I know I know, your all happy i'm doing a Bruins post instead of DJ. Anyway, Nathan Horton started off the scoring with a slow shot that snuck by Sen's goalie Robin Lehner who played amazing that game making 44 saves. Jim O' Brien scores after Rask made a breakaway save but the sens snuck it by Rask, a power play goal, which was the first power play goal the Bruins allowed since Feb 6th. Amazing streak. Both teams got a well deserved point, Rask made some key saves in OT early on and in the end Patrice Bergaron got a OT goal that literally just stopped past the red line, they took a look at it in the review booth and it counted so the Bruins won there 5th straight. Lets look at the stats:

Patrice Bergaron: 1 goal

Nathan Horton: 1 goal

Tuuka Rask: 30 out of 31 shots saved

So the Bruins will play the Lightning on Saturday, Khudobin will probably play that game since Sunday we face the Habs. Lets hope he can stop Stamkos. Prediction: 5-3 Bruins
