My NFL Wild Card Predictions

The NFL regular season is over and the playoffs are ready to begin. Lets take a look at the Wild Card games and see who I think will come out on top.

AFC:

For the second consecutive year the Texans will host the Bengals in the Wild Card game. Last year they easily dealt with the Bengals 31-10. But the Texans have struggled lately losing there last 3 out of 4 games that cost them the first seed. This year will be a much closer game but I think the outcome will stay the same. Texans will win no more than a touchdown and travel to New England.

#ChuckStrong

Th Ravens will host the Colts in the playoffs in what I think will be the game of the week. Chuck Pagano in his first game back led the Colts over the Texans. This game I think he'll do the same. Colts will upset the Ravens and head to Denver

NFC:

The Vikings beat the Packers at home yesterday to clinch a playoff berth and this time they'll face the Packers at there stadium. I dont think the Vikings will stand a chance and the Packers will win and head to San Francisco.

The Redskins won beat the Cowboys yesterday and clinched there division as the red hot Redskins face the red hot Seahawks. The battle of the rookie quarterbacks. This will be a great game they both have great qb's  great running backs and great defense but I think the Seahawks will be to much for the Redskins and Seattle will win and head to Atlanta.

Celtics Go 0-3 On West Coast Road Trip Fall To 14-16

(Sums up the entire road trip)

Hey guys! So the Celtics go 0-3 on there California road trip and are now 2 games under .500. They lost to the Clippers, Warriors, and Kings by a combined score of 325-256!!! THATS TERRIBLE!!! Heres a list of Celtics players that need to step up if we want to make the playoffs:

Jeff Green
Brandon Bass
Jason Collins
Avery Bradely ( Bradely should be back in our game against Memphis)

So we're still in 8th in the conference... shows how weak the conference is....

Patriots Shut Out Dolphins 28-0, Get First Round Bye

Hey Guys!

The Patriots won and shut out the Dolphins last night by a score of 28-0. With this win, it means we get the first round bye and fall to the 2nd seed because the Houston Texans lost to the Indianapolis Colts yesterday. Let me say here, yesterday was a crazy day for football. A lot of things happened, including Adrian Peterson falling 9 yards short of the most rushing yards in a season. Another thing that happened was the Washington Redskins beat the Dallas Cowboys to go into the playoffs. That's right, rookie Robert Griffen the third and the Washington Redskins will be going to the playoffs. Ok, enough with that. So yesterday was a great game by the Patriots. Defense didn't let up any points, which is good for us going into the playoffs. Tom Brady threw 2 touchdowns and Rob Gronkowski came back up this game too. He didn't contribute much which is good because we need him to rest before the playoffs. Anyways, here's the grades.

Quarterback A

Tom Brady did a good job last night deserved the A. He worked hard and threw 2 touchdown passes. Wes Welker was his main man yesterday.

Offense A

Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead, and Stevan Ridley were the main ones who shined in our offense yesterday. Welker caught a touchdown pass and so did Rob Gronkowski. Ridley ran for 2 touchdowns.

Defense A+

The first time I'm giving an A+ because the defense let up 0 points, a shut out! Defense did great all night, including when the Dolphins were in the end zone for a couple times. They stopped plays and had sacks. It was just great.

Kicking A

Stephen Gostkowski did not have to go for any field goals and made in all extra points.

Stats (on important players)

Quarterback
Tom Brady: 22/36 - 284 Yards - 2 Touchdowns - 0 Interceptions

Offense: Receiving
Wes Welker: 8 Receptions - 94 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Danny Woodhead: 5 Receptions - 79 Yards
Aaron Hernandez: 5 Receptions 44 Yards
Rob Gronkowski: 2 Receptions - 42 Yards - 1 Touchdown

Rushing
Stevan Ridley: 20 Rushes - 74 Yards - 2 Touchdowns

Defense
Kyle Arrington: 5 Tackles
Patrick Chung: 5 Tackles
Devin McCourty: 4 Tackles
Justin Francis: 3 Tackles - 3 Sacks
Chandler Jones: 3 Tackles
Jerod Mayo: 3 Tackles
Brandon Deaderick: 2 Tackles - 1 Sack
Vince Wilfork: 2 Tackles - 1 Sack
Steve Gregory: 1 Tackle - 1 Interception
Derrick Martin: 1 Tackle - 1 Sack
Trevor Scott: 1 Tackle - 1 Sack

Kicking
Stephen Gostkowski: 4/4 on Extra Points

Player Of The Game: Tom Brady

The Pats played a great game heading into the playoffs. Now they'll have a week off to let all the other teams play. I think the Patriots are going to step it up with Rob Gronkowski and he's going to benefit us in the playoffs. Overall, the Patriots had a great season and finished 12-4. Tom Brady did great and so did the rest of our team, great season. Anyways, what do you think about this win? How do you think the Patriots will play in the playoffs? Comment!

Red Sox Get Joel Hanrahan in 6 Player Deal With Pirates

Hey Guys!

Joel Hanrahan records 36 saves while pitching to a 2.72 ERA for Pittsburgh last season.

The Boston Red Sox have gotten all star closer Joel Hanrahan from the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 6 player deal. We also got a minor league infielder named Brock Holt. The Red Sox sent pitchers Mark Melancon and Stolmy Pimental, and second and first baseman, Ivan DeJesus Jr and Jerry Sands. I think we got the better part of the deal because we sent 1 bad pitcher and 1 OK pitcher to the Pirates and Ivan DeJesus Jr and Jerry Sands are not good prospects. Joel Hanrahan is a 2 time all star closer and has been an excellent pitcher over the last 2 years racking up 76 saves with a 2.24 ERA. Over this season he has posted a record of 5-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 36 saves. He has been a great closer and the Red Sox announced him our new closer which means he will be taking Andrew Bailey's spot. Bailey will have a different role in the bullpen. I think Hanrahan is a better decision for the closer role because he hasn't been injured and has been dominant the past 2 years and he could continue this dominance.

I didn't put this in my title but I wanted to mention it: The Red Sox are starting to talk with free agent first baseman Adam LaRoche because of the Mike Napoli incident. Apparently, LaRoche is their backup plan if they don't sign Napoli to a deal soon. The Red Sox will not speak about the Napoli problem and nobody knows anything yet. Now if we get LaRoche and not Napoli, it won't be a big deal because LaRoche had a very good season this year and hit 30 home runs. And, better yet, he had an average higher than .270, unlike Napoli having an average around .220.

Anyways what do you guys think about the Red Sox signing Joel Hanrahan? Do you think he'll be good at the closer role? Should the Red Sox sign Adam LaRoche instead of Mike Napoli? Comment!

Celtics Spoil Nets Christmas Win 93-76

(Jared Sullinger played a great game for us with 16 points and 7 rebounds)

The Celtics dominated the Nets 93-76. They outscored the Nets 34-18 in the second quarter! Great performance by them and a great way to start a tough road trip. Lets look at the stats.

Paul Pierce: 8 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 8 points and 10 rebounds

Jason Collins: 4 points and 4 rebounds

Jason Terry: 11 points 4 assists and went 3-4 shooting 3's

Player of the Game, Rajon Rondo: 19 points 5 assists 6 rebounds and went 2-2 shooting 3's

So with that win the Celtics are now 14-13 and face the red hot Clippers who are on a 13 game winning streak!! They face the Nuggets today, a game  thats a must watch, Thunder vs Heat rematch of the NBA finals. Well hope you guys are having a good holiday and...

Patriots Beat Jaguars 23-16

 Hey Guys!

Tom Brady threw for 267 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Jaguars.

The Patriots beat the Jaguars on Sunday by a score of 23-16. This was a low scoring game but we topped the Jaguars. Tom Brady had 2 interceptions, which before this game he never threw an interception against the Jaguars. Brady also had 2 touchdown passes and him and Wes Welker teamed up for 10 passes on the night! That makes Welker to have the most 10 reception games of all time, the 18th of his career today. On other news, Stephen Gostkowski stepped it up today with 11 points and 3 field goals made. This wasn't the best game for the Patriots, but what can you say, at least they won. Jacksonville did have a chance to tie it up with a touchdown when they were near the end zone but Patrick Chung sealed the win with a last second interception. Here's the grades.

Quarterback A-

Tom Brady

Tom Brady did a good job somewhat. I mean, the other quarterback may have did better than him in yards wise but Brady threw 2 touchdowns. Now, those 2 interceptions, let's forget about those 2 interceptions. I mean, did they really benefit Jacksonville? Probably not.

Offense A

Wes Welker

Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, and Stevan Ridley were the stars of the offense. Some other players had nice catches for a lot of yards but Welker and Lloyd had more catches and yards, including Welker with 10 receptions. Ridley ran for a lot of yards today and it did benefit us during the game.

Defense A

Rob Ninkovich gets the tackle

Our defense did great letting up only 16 points. They started to fall apart a little towards the end but Patrick Chung would not take any more of this. He intercepted the ball to seal the win for us. They limited Jacksonville to only 1 touchdown the whole game.

Kicking A

Stephen Gostkowski awaits the snap

Stephen Gostowski made in all 3 of his field goal attempts and all of his extra point attempts. He had 11 points for us today and benefited us a lot.

Stats (on important players)

Quarterback
Tom Brady: 24/41 - 267 Yards - 2 Touchdowns - 2 Interceptions

Offense: Receiving
Wes Welker: 10 Receptions - 88 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Brandon Lloyd: 6 Receptions - 62 Yards
Michael Hoomanawanui: 2 Receptions - 46 Yards
Danny Woodhead: 2 Receptions - 38 Yards - 1 Touchdown

Rushing
Stevan Ridley: 18 Attempts - 84 Yards

Defense
Kyle Arrington: 7 Tackles
Marquice Cole: 5 Tackles - 1 Interception
Jerod Mayo: 5 Tackles
Dont'a Hightower: 4 Tackles - 1 Sack
Tavon Wilson: 4 Tackles
Patrick Chung: 3 Tackles - 2 Interceptions

Kicking
Stephen Gostkowski: 3/3 on Field Goals 2/2 on Extra Points - Total: 11 Points

Player Of The Game: Wes Welker

So overall we played good it was just Brady that couldn't shine at certain points, but that's ok because we still won. The Denver Broncos won so they are probably getting the first round bye, but Texans lost and if we win next week and they lose we'll get the 2nd seed, Broncos will get 1st seed and Texans will fall to the 3rd seed . Anyways, so what do you think about this win? Do you think the Patriots will get pass the first round or do they need a bye? Comment!

Celtics amazing comeback falls short as they lose to Bucks 99-94

Down by 8 with less than a minute to go, everyone thinks it's over. Paul Pierce comes in and says enough is enough! A minute later the 2 teams are heading to overtime. Down by 4 with a little over a minute left Kevin Garnett ties it little did they know that would be there last point of the game. Monte Ellis went to the free throw line got 1 in missed the other but the Bucks get the rebound while Jeff Green got hurt as he took a elbow and he made both free throws Pierce misses the 3 point tie and we lose. Lets look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 35 points 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Kevin  Garnett: 12 points 7 rebounds and shot 6-22 not good.

Jason Collins: 2 points and 2 rebounds.... just start Bass again...

Jason Terry: 4 points and shot 1-15, terrible game for him and KG

Rajon Rondo: 6 points 11 assists and 5 rebounds

Celtics ran out of gas in OT and thats what cost us. Age is creeping up on them.

Pierce's big game lifts Celtics over Cavs 103-91

The Celtics finally stopped the bleeding after a 103-91 victory over the Cavaliers. Am I satisfied with this win? No. We had a 20 point lead and the Cavs nearly came came going on a 17-0 run. But "The Truth" bought his "A" game last night to give us a much needed win. Lets look at the stats.(From know on im going to name the player of the game for us each win we get, this one was obvious.)

Player of the Game, Paul Pierce: 40 points, shot 6-7 shooting 3's 8-8 on the free throw line, 13-16 shooting, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists!

Jason Collins: 1 point, 2 rebounds and fouled out after 23:16 of playing time. Okay when I said bench Bass I was hoping we'd start someone you know THAT CAN SCORE MORE THAN 1 POINT!!!!!!!!!

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Jason Terry: 15 points and shot 3-5 shooting 3's.

Rajon Rondo: 20 points and 8 assists.

So pretty good stats especially Jason Collins I mean just amazing, even the fans where chanting MVP. All jokes aside, with Paul Pierce getting 40 points he becomes the ninth player in NBA history to score 40 points after turning 35. Anyway with that win we improve to 13-12 and face the Bucks next.

Tom Brady Shoulder Injury - Misses Practice

Hey Guys!

Tom Brady threw the ball 65 times against the 49ers, a career high.

The Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady missed his first practice of all season and it's because of a shoulder injury. Nobody knows what exactly the cause of his shoulder injury is but most likely it's because he threw the ball 65 times, Sunday night, against the 49ers. Now, could this just be a minor injury? Yes, but it can also be a big injury in which we'd have to sit him out for the rest of the season so that he could heal for the playoffs. 65 passing attempts were a career high for him and Brady is 35 years old, which is kind of old for a quarterback so this could be why he got the injury. His shoulder just might feel sore and he might need to rest Sunday's game against the Jaguars but nobody knows yet. If he does sit out Sunday's game, our backup quarterback, Ryan Mallet will probably fill in for Brady. Mallet isn't that good but we haven't seen him play a full game this season so maybe he'll shine against the horrible Jaguars Sunday. I mean who can't beat the Jaguars? They suck! We'll beat them though... So what do you think about Brady's shoulder injury? Do you think it's serious or just a minor injury? Comment!

Celtics lose 3rd straight as they fall to Bulls 100-89

No players in this picture because after the way they've been playing they don't deserve it. The last 3 games the Celtics has been outscored 304-266!!!!  Thats terrible our offense is nowhere to be seen we just suck right now. Lets just look at the stats:

Paul Pierce: 16 points and 4 assists

Brandon Bass: 7 points and 8 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 10 points and 8 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 14 points

Rajon Rondo: 26 points and 8 assists

Yea those stats where decent but good? No, except for Rondo. Next we face the Cavaliers who has a whopping record of 5-21! You know what? I still think we're gonna lose I dont care if they only won 5 games thats how bad we are! Joakim Noah had a triple double for the Bulls with 11 points 10 assists and 13 rebound. Yea thats right I actually named a stat thats not from our team. If we go on a 5 game losing street I quit! Na i'm Joakim!  Aha bad puns everywhere....

Red Sox Sign Free Agent SS Stephen Drew + More On Mike Napoli Situation

Hey Guys!

The Red Sox have signed free agent short stop Stephen Drew to a 1 one year contract that is worth $9.5 million. Stephen Drew apparently is going to be our short stop for 2013 until Jose Iglesias improves his batting and steps it up in the 2013 season. Stephen Drew is the brother of J.D. Drew. Stephen Drew had an injury in the 2011 season that ended that season. He came back this year in the second half of the season and was with the Diamondbacks who he hit .193 with them in 40 games.. He then was traded to the Oakland Athletics in August. With the Athletics he hit .250 with five home runs and 16 RBI's in 39 games. Here's his and Jose Iglesias's stats.

J.D. Drew: 7 Home Runs, 28 RBI's, .223 Batting Average, 79 Games
Jose Iglesias: 1 Home Run, 2 RBI's, .118 Batting Average, 25 Games

So neither of those stats look nice but Iglesias only played in 25 games in the majors and is still developing into a major league player. J.D. Drew is coming off injuries so he could have still been healing in the 2012 season and will probably get back in the hang of things in 2013. J.D. Drew has had good seasons before so we shouldn't expect him to do bad, but who knows.

Now, there's updates with the Mike Napoli situation. Napoli failed his physical because of a hip problem. Now, the Red Sox want to shorten his contract to 2 years now because of injuries but nothing is heard on Mike Napoli's side. So far they have not been able to work out a deal and there doesn't seem to be that many possible resolutions to fix this other than to agree to a 2 year contract or 3 year contract. There is a possible chance of us not signing Napoli now and he could become a free agent. What do you think about all this? Do you think Stephen Drew is going to take the spot at shortstop or is he going to fill in until Jose Iglesias is ready to be in the majors? Also, do you think the Red Sox will work out a deal with Mike Napoli?

Patriots Lose To 49ers In Dramatic Fashion 41-34

Hey Guys!

Tom Brady

The Patriots had a tough loss last night against a tough team whose defense ranks number 1 in the league. The 49ers beat them by a score of 41-34. The interesting thing in this game was when the score was 31-3 at one point. The Patriots went on to almost make an inspirational comeback but they sadly let down a game winning touchdown in the last minutes of the 4th quarter. This game involved A LOT of fumbles. It also involved a lot of yards for Tom Brady, 443 yards. It was raining and sleeting all over the place last night and the ball was slippery. Stevan Ridley sadly ruined a potential touchdown on one of our last plays by fumbling the football. This would give San Fran the ball and ruin our chance of coming back because they would make a field goal in to secure the win and make it a 10 point lead. We would then get the ball back again but couldn't convert a 4th down into a first down because Danny Woodhead could not catch the football. San Fran had a lot of nice plays in the game, including a fake punt in which they converted a first down but I think we had the best plays of the game in which we tied it up 31-31 in the 4th quarter but like I said, we let up a game winning touchdown. Here's the grades.

Quarterback A

Tom Brady deserved this A for many reasons. One reason is for having 443 yards in the whole game and helping us tie it up 31-31 in the 4th quarter. Another reason is for saving a potential touchdown in which our defense stopped them from scoring on all their other plays. Tom Brady sort of shoved into the guy and kind of tackled him. Brady also had 1 touchdown pass on the night. Yes, I know that's not a lot BUT he made a lot of nice passes towards the end of the game and he also rushed a touchdown himself right near the end zone. Just to mention, Brady had 11 yards at rushing.

Offense B+

Yep, offense is getting a B+ because of Brandon Lloyd and Aaron Hernandez. Lloyd is a great fast wide receiver who caught for 190 yards! Hernandez caught a touchdown pass from Brady and helped us score there. Danny Woodhead also did a great job at rushing tonight, doing better than Ridley. He made 2 touchdowns also by rushing which helped us.

Defense C

The sloppy defense... oh boy. They got this C because the way they played this whole game. They were inconsistent this whole game. I mean sometimes they'd do a good job at stopping them from scoring and forcing them to turn it over but other times they would leave men wide open. Including a touchdown RIGHT after we scored to prove the outcome of the game. For the most part, they weren't that good this game letting up 41 points.

Kicking A

Stephen Gostowski got the A here for making 2 out 2 field goals in and all extra points in. He wasn't really a big player in the game.

Stats (On Important Players)

Quarterback
Tom Brady: 36/65 - 443 Yards - 1 Touchdown - 2 Interceptions

Offense: Receiving
Brandon Lloyd: 10 Receptions - 190 Yards
Aaron Hernandez: 10 Receptions - 92 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Wes Welker: 5 Receptions - 56 Yards
Michael Hoomanawanui: 1 Reception - 41 Yards
Deion Branch: 4 Receptions - 37 Yards
Danny Woodhead: 5 Receptions - 23 Yards

Rushing
Danny Woodhead: 61 Yards - 2 Touchdowns

Defense:
Dont'a Hightower: 5 Tackles
Jerod Mayo: 5 Tackles
Brandon Spikes: 3 Tackles
Devin McCourty: 1 Tackle - 1 Sack

Kicking:
Stephen Gostowski: 2/2 on Field Goals 4/4 on Extra Points

So overall a lot of blame of this loss should go to our defense. To be honest, I think the rest of our team played much better than the 49ers. I mean Brady did much better than Colin Kaepernick in yards wise. Even though Brady threw 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions he rushed a touchdown himself and got us near the end zone a lot too. Also, Brady's 2nd interception was Hernandez's fault for bobbling the ball, not Brady's. Let's not forget Kaepernick fumbling the ball 4 times and some of his fumbles were on the snaps too. Our offense in receiving wise did much better than their offense who's highest amount of yards for one player was 107 yards and 7 receptions by Michael Crabtree. The only reason they scored  a lot of points was because our defense played bad and they always went for short passes. If they did go for long passes it would be when we left someone wide open. Like I mentioned above, the best part of the game was when we tied it up 31-31. Sadly our defense let up the winning touchdown in which we could not score again except a field goal. Anyways, the Pats played a tough game last night and played their best in the 4th quarter. They fought their way out of not scoring that quarter. What do you think? Did the Patriots play good this game? Will the Patriots get the first round bye or will Denver? Comment below!

Celtics get crushed(again) lose to Spurs(again) 103-88

The Celtics fall to Spurs 103-88 and lose there 2nd straight game. The Spurs shot 5 3's in the 4th to pull away from the Celtics. Lets look at the stats.

Paul Pierce: 18 points and 5 rebounds

Brandon Bass: 2 points and 3 rebounds? Seriously can we just bench him already and start Jeff Green?

Kevin Garnett: 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Courtney Lee: 11 points and 5 rebounds

Rajon Rondo: 6 points and 9 assists

Jason Terry(came of bench) 18 points and 4 assists

So the Celtics are now 12-11, they face the Bulls next. So do you think the Celtics will get out of this funk? Comment!

Celtics Fall To Rockets 101-89

(An emotional night for everyone, Rockets coach Kevin Mchale loses his daughter and is hugging KG the guy he drafted while he was the GM for Minnesota)

Before I start talking about the game lets take this moment to pay our respects to the families that lost there children in the Connecticut incident.

The Rockets played a great game tonight as they defeated the C's 101-89. They shot well timed 3's and the Celtics offense had no answer. Lets look at the stats.

Paul Pierce: 18 points and 7 rebounds.

Brandon Bass: 2 points and 4 rebounds...... no comment

Kevin Garnett: 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Courtney Lee: Lee got the starting job over Jason Terry this game. Lee had 8 points and 3 assists.

Rajon Rondo: 15 points and 13 assists.

So once again a double double for Rondo but the Celtics still lost. Today they'll vs the Spurs.

Red Sox Sign Ryan Dempster To 2 Year Deal + Mike Napoli Situation

Hey Guys!

The Red Sox have signed Ryan Dempster to a 2 year deal worth $26 million dollars. Ryan Dempster was a good pitcher this year, somewhat. He pitched good for the Cubs but when he got traded to the Rangers he didn't pitch that good. But then again, towards the end of the season in his final starts he went 5-0 with a 1.91 ERA. Here's his stats with the Cubs, Rangers, and all together.

Cubs: 5-5, 2.25 ERA, 83 Strikeouts, 16 Games Started
Rangers: 7-3, 5.09 ERA, 70 Strikeouts, 12 Games Started
All Together: 12-8, 3.38 ERA, 153 Strikeouts, 28 Games Started

So yeah, those were his stats for the 2012 season. His total stats look good but his stats with the Rangers don't look too good. Dempster has struggled against American League teams in his career and he struggled this year with the Rangers being in the American League. Dempster was never really a great pitcher and his best record was 17-6 in his career. That was his only season with an ERA under 3.00. He has also only made 2 all star appearances in his 15 year career and he is 35 years old. I don't think he's that good of a pitcher but he may be able to pitch good these next 2 years. He might be able to be an effective quality starter in our rotation, but who knows.

Now, let's talk about the Mike Napoli situation. Recently, Shane Victorino was introduced to the Red Sox on Thursday and we gave him a number and a jersey and officially announced and agreed to his signing. Now why wasn't Mike Napoli officially signed to our team? Well, a lot of sources have been saying that it has something to do with a medical condition. Nobody knows what exactly it is because our general manager Ben Cherington is not saying anything. Nobody really knows what's going on except that Mike Napoli has not been introduced or officially signed yet to Boston. Why do things like this happen to us? This never happens to any other team. Anyways what do you think about the Red Sox signing Ryan  Dempster? More importantly, what do you think about this Mike Napoli situation?

Paul Pierce's 34 points lifts Celtics over Dallas 117-115 in 2OT

The Celtics (12-9) edge Dallas 117-115 in double OT yesterday behind Pierce's 34 points. With a big game from our defense forcing 28 turnovers! Lets look at the stats.

Paul Pierce: 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Brandon Bass: 9 points and 7 rebounds

Kevin Garnett: 16 points and 5 rebounds

Jason Terry: 10 points and 3 steals

Rajon Rondo: 16 points, 15 assists, and 9 rebounds

So overall good game for the Celtics improving them to 12-9 and 4 games behind the Knicks for the division. Next up Houston Rockets. Houston we have a problem.

Patriots Destroy Texans 42-14

Hey Guys!

2012-12-11T042935Z_285569102_GM1E8CB0YMU01_RTRMADP_3_NFL.JPG

The Patriots (10-3) beat the Texans (11-2) on Monday night by a score of 42-14! Wow, just wow. I cannot believe this happened. I mean I believe we could win, but I can't believe they only scored 2 touchdowns the whole game and their second touchdown happened because our backup quarterback Ryan Mallet threw an interception late in the game when we were up by a ton. Tom Brady threw 4 touchdown passes, Stevan Ridley ran for 1 touchdown, and Brandon Lloyd scored a weird touchdown. Brady threw to Danny Woodhead who fumbled it into the end zone which then Lloyd recovered the football in the end zone to score a touchdown. Aaron Hernandez caught 2 touchdown passes from Brady, and Brandon Lloyd and Donte Stallworth both caught 1 touchdown pass from Brady. Arian Foster, Matt Schaub, JJ Watt, and the rest of Texans did not play their best. Here's the grades.

Quarterback A

2012-12-11T022346Z_2086555352_GM1E8CB0SUJ01_RTRMADP_3_NFL.JPG

Tom Brady did a great job all night throwing for 4 touchdowns. He made long passes too during this game. Lloyd and Hernandez seemed to be Brady's favorite receivers during the game because he threw to them the most. He also threw for a lot of yards.

Offense A

2012-12-11T024607Z_1048552247_GM1E8CB0TVX01_RTRMADP_3_NFL.JPG

Aaron Hernandez and Brandon Lloyd were the best of our offense. Hernandez had 2 touchdowns, and Lloyd had 1 touchdown. Hernandez had 58 yards, and Lloyd had 89 yards. They did a great job. Stevan Ridley ran for 72 yards did a great job last night.

Defense A

2012-12-11T022009Z_1261573708_GM1E8CB0SNV01_RTRMADP_3_NFL.JPG

Our defense did a great job only letting up 14 points against the Texans who were 5th overall in the league in offense. They also got a lot of tackles during last nights game. They ruined a lot of chances for the Texans and Devin McCourty had a nice interception in the end zone to ruin their chance of a touchdown. We also had a sack on the night.

Kicking A

Stephen Gostowski also did a great job last night. Even though he didn't have to go for a field goal he made all 6 extra points in, which isn't a big deal but whatever.

So this was a big game for the Patriots in which they won. Tom Brady had his 24th career game with 4 touchdown passes and 0 interceptions. The Patriots are now 10-3, they haven't got a loss in the second half of the season since 2010. I think the Pats are going to keep playing like this for the rest of the season. They verse the 49ers next week and if they can beat the Texans, they can beat them. So what do you guys think about this win over the Texans? Do you think they're going to win their next 3 final games of the regular season? Comment!

Monday Night Football: Texans VS Patriots: BIG Game For the Pats

Hey Guys!

The Patriots will be hosting the Houston Texans Monday night (or tonight) at Gillette Stadium. This is a big game for a number of reasons for the Pats. Here's some key points to notice before this game.

1. JJ Watt, on the Texans, is a very athletic player and plays defense. He can jump pretty high and is going to be a pest during this game. Tom Brady is going to have to throw a little higher and is going to have to get used to Watt. He also has a league leading 17 sacks on the season, just pointing out. Do a good job offensive line.

2. The Texans are 11-1 on the season and can clinch a playoff seed. They are overall a great team and their offense is 5th overall in the league.

3. Matt Schaub, their quarterback, has 21 touchdowns and 3,062 yards on the season. He is doing good right now and is going to put up a performance this game.

So pretty much overall the Texans are a better team than the Patriots right now. Can the Pats beat them? Of course, I mean the Falcons lost to the Panthers last night and there not nearly as good as the Falcons. I think the Patriots are going to put up their best game of the season tonight. What do you think? Comment!

Red Sox Claim Pitcher Sandy Rosario Off Waivers

Hey Guys!

The Red Sox have claimed pitcher Sandy Rosario off waivers. The Red Sox sent Rosario to the Athletics for another pitcher but since the Athletics did not take him we reclaimed him. Rosario has only been in 10 games over the last 3 seasons for the Marlins with a 15.26 ERA in 7 2/3 innings of relief. He is also 27 years old. So he's not a great pitcher or even a good pitcher.

Red Sox Offer Ryan Dempster 2 Year Deal, Dempster Turns Down Deal

Hey Guys!

12-7-12-ryan-dempster

The Red Sox offered Ryan Dempster a 2 year deal that was worth $25 million. Earlier in the season Dempster was with the Cubs. He was then traded to the Rangers at the trade deadline. Dempster struggled throughout the season but performed much better in his last starts of the season. The Red Sox want him, Dempster doesn't want to have any part with the Red Sox. There is no apparent reason why he doesn't want to sign with the Red Sox but most likely it's because he wants to be signed for 3 years. I don't really want Dempster because he's not a great pitcher.

Here's who the Red Sox should be going after for:

Kyle Lohse

He had a 16-3 record this year with a 2.86 ERA. He did great this year and this was one of his best years. He is 34 years old and even though he isn't young, I think he can still be a very good pitcher for the next couple of years. The only thing keeping the Red Sox from signing him is that he wants a long term deal too. The Red Sox are looking to sign new players like him to 2 year deals. If we do sign him to a 2 year deal that'll be great but we have to see if he will sign to a 2 year deal.

Anyways, what do you think? Do you want Ryan Dempster on the Red Sox? Would you like the Red Sox to sign Kyle Lohse to a 2 year deal? Comment!

Celtics Chris Wilcox Fined $25K

Celtics Chris Wilcox has been fined $25K for his gestures in a 94-95 loss to the 76ers. Its been reported that he  made an obscene gesture directed towards fans during a game. I know it's not that important but still whatever "gesture" he made is probably inappropriate.

Celtics Split Back To Back Games, Improve to 11-9

GAME 1: Celtics VS 76ers: Loss 94-95 OT

What a great game by the Celtics. Even though they lost they played great from beginning to end. Rondo missed the game winner in regulation and in OT. Rajon Rondo also had a Triple-Double, his 24th of his career. Pierce had a season high 28 points. But the turnovers cost them overall and dropped them to 11-9.

GAME 2: 76ers vs Celtics: WIN 92-79

The Celtics never trailed in this game as they cruised past Philly but most importantly they won while I was there. Which improves me to 4-0 and Celtics games. What a fun game that was with there defense allowing only 28 points at halftime.
Kevin Garnett and Jeff Green combined for 35 points.
Kevin Garnett went 9-11 shooting.
Rajon Rondo had 7 points 9 rebounds and 11 assists.
Overall great performance. Next Game for the Celtics, Jason Terry's old team Dallas Mavericks.

Red Sox Get RHP Godfrey

Hey Guys!

This is going to be a small post. The Red Sox have gotten right hand pitcher Graham Godfrey to complete the small trade we had with the Oakland Athletics. On November 28th we sent Sandy Rosario to Oakland to for a player to be named, which was Graham Godfrey. Godfrey was 9-2 in the minors with a 3.29 ERA but in the majors we has 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA. So basically he's a crap player who we will probably trade to another team.

Winter Meetings Over - Red Sox Sign Koji Uehara

Hey Guys!

Koji Uehara                                   Junichi Tazawa

The Red Sox have signed another free agent whose name is Koji Uehara to a 1 year deal that is pending a physical. So yes the name isn't popular but he's sort of like Junichi Tazawa except an age difference. He and Tazawa were great relievers last season but  they were never really mentioned. They are also both Japanese! I  just to want to compare Uehara and Tazawa's stats because they both did really good.

Koji Uehara
1.75 ERA - 0-0 Record - 37 Games - 36 Innings - 43 Strikeouts

Junichi Tazawa
1.43 ERA - 1-1 Record - 37 Games - 44 Innings Pitched - 45 Strikeouts

So yeah Tazawa had a better ERA and more innings pitched but they are similar pitches. ERA's both in the 1's, same amount of games pitched, around the same amount of innings pitched, and almost the same amount of strikeouts. It's going to be great having 2 great Japanese relievers who have are expected to perform very good this year. I think they are going to be to the core of our bullpen. Tazawa was always good at getting out of situations with men on base and Uehara, I can't say much because I never saw him pitch since he was on the Rangers this year.

Now let's talk about the Winter Meetings and it's recap. The Winter Meetings were a big event for the Red Sox. They signed Mike Napoli, Shane Victorino, and Koji Uehara. They also met with free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton and discussed possible signings. They also had to deal with the Jacoby Ellsbury rumors about him being traded. Well luckily, Cherington made it clear that they did not want to trade Ellsbury. Anyways, a lot happened for the Red Sox. What do you think about the Winter Meetings and how was it for the Red Sox? Do you think signing Koji Uehara is a good idea?

Celtics "Claw" There Way To Victory Beat The Wolves 104-94

(Garnett was a major factor of the Celtics win against his old team)

The bad puns continue. 2 games after Rondo's suspension he comes back strong with 17 points and 11 assists. Kevin Garnett also had a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. All 5 starters for the Celtics had double figure in points. Jason Terry went 3-5 shooting 3's, Pierce went 5-6 shooting free throws and even Bass went 6-9. Overall good game for the Celtics but this is the start of 3 games in 4 days so its gonna be tough. So what do you think about this game? Comment?

Jacoby Ellsbury Situation UPDATES

Hey Guys!

"No, that's not our intent," Cherington said. "We're expecting Jacoby to have a really good year in 2013 and be a huge part of what we're doing."

I wanted to keep you up to date about the winter meetings and Ellsbury's name has been in talk lately. Since signing Shane Victorino a lot of assumptions have been made about Ellsbury being traded since we would have Victorino to replace him... NO! As General Manager Ben Cherington says, "No, that's not our intent," Cherington said. "We're expecting Jacoby to have a really good year in 2013 and be a huge part of what we're doing." Cherington plans on keeping Ellsbury for the 2013 season. He believes that this year he will be able to show who he really is considering he was injured throughout most of the 2012 season. A lot of trade rumors have been going on like Ellsbury for Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee, who is an excellent pitcher. Other talks have been about just trading Ellsbury, period, because we got Victorino. Well Cherington has put those rumors to sleep because it's all in his intent to keep Ellsbury in Boston. I think this is a great decision. Ellsbury is a great player and he was injured this year so he couldn't play a full season. He only got to play 74 games and he was still getting back into the rhythm of himself. This year he will be able to show who he really is and will have a great season and an impact on the Boston Red Sox. I have faith in him, he's not a bad player, he's one of our best. I mean if we traded Ellsbury and got Cliff Lee I wouldn't be extremely mad because we would have a great starting pitcher in our rotation but what do you think? Do you want Ellsbury to be traded? Comment!

NHL Lockout Gains A Lot Of Progress

Hey Guys!

The NHL Lockout has made a lot of progress this week. As Toronto Maple Leafs owner said, "We'll continue to talk up until we a get a deal." He has a big role in the lockout because he's one of the six owners in the lockout talking with the players. They are working on a deal that could end this lockout and start the hockey season. So far, they have made good progress and a lot of the officials that are involved in the talks feel good about these meetings. This could mean that a deal could be reached soon. The players on the other hands have different feelings. They think that there is more work to do. They want to take things slow and be patient so that there are no mistakes made. Anyways, right now, officials feel better and feel more positiveness in the air. They feel better about the lockout. Hopefully, the lockout will be over soon.

Josh Hamilton Updates: The Good and The Bad

Hey Guys!

Josh Hamilton has met with Ben Cherington (Our General Manager) and John Farrell (our manager). They have discussed possible signings for him to be on our team. Hamilton wants a long term contract ranging from 5-7 years and the Red Sox want to sign him for a shorter contract. Hamilton is a 31 year old free agent who has had troubles in his past. He has had his slumps but he has also has his streaks.

The Good: Josh Hamilton hit a career high 43 home runs with 128 RBI's and a .285 batting average in 148 games. His batting average has dropped since 2010 when it was .359, and in 2011 when it was .298, but he has hit his career high home runs this year and that is a lot. His RBI's are also a big thing considering he hit 128 and hit a lot more in his career. He also has been in the all star game from 2008 - 2012. He also won the silver slugger this year. So mainly, his biggest part is hitting.

The Bad: Josh Hamilton has had a bad drug problem and a bag drinking problem dating back to 2003. In 2005 he decided to straighten his life out and play baseball again. It took him 2 years until he played again which was in 2007. Ever since then he has been clean and healthy BUT he has been in some incidents with drinking. Before the 2012 season started Hamilton apparently went out for a few drinks with his teammate Ian Kinsler and the press found out and all hell broke loose. He apologized for the incident and hasn't had a drink since then. He has also has attracted the media by the way he plays. For example, he has had slumps in which he has played really bad and for the most part he has just not hit good at some points. And because of this, he has attracted the media. Hamilton has also played poorly sometimes, like when he dropped an easy pop up in a wild card game decision game, which was game 162, the last game. Apparently, Hamilton couldn't see anything because it was sunny but his play could have been questioned. His worst problems is his past drug use and his slumps.

So yeah, Hamilton is a so-so player. In hitting wise he can be good sometimes. In attitude wise he can be rude at some points. I really don't know if the Red Sox should sign him or not. He might not be a good fit in Boston. Anyway, what do you think? Do you want the Red Sox to sign Hamilton?

Red Sox Sign Shane Victorino To 3 Year Deal Worth $39 Million

Hey Guys!

Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shane...

The Red Sox have signed Shane Victorino to a 3 year deal worth $39 million as a free agent. The Flyin Hawaiian (his nickname) spent 101 games of the 2012 season with the Phillies and was then traded to the Dodgers for 2 other players in which he played 53 games for them. Here are his stats.

Philadelphia Phillies 101 Games Stats
9 Home Runs, 40 RBI's, 24 Stolen Bases, .261 Batting Average

Los Angeles Dodgers 53 Games Stats
2 Home Runs, 15 RBI's, 15 Stolen Bases, .245 Batting Average

Full Season Stats
11 Home Runs, 55 RBI's, 39 Stolen Bases, .255 Batting Average

So his stats aren't amazingly good but his speed showed something. This year he stole 39 bases, a career high for him, and was only caught 6 times. That's pretty good for speed factors but his hitting stats weren't the best. His speed could also help out in outfield when he is chasing for balls. He won 3 gold gloves in his career, in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He was an all star in 2009 and in 2011. The only other team that was interested in Victorino were the Indians, who offered him a 4 year deal worth $40 million, but he decided to sign with us instead. I don't really know what to say about this deal. I don't think it's a big deal and some believe he is being signed if Jacoby Ellsbury gets traded or signs to a different team when the 2013 season is over. Well, hopefully he'll help the Red Sox out with making the playoffs this year. What do you think? Do you think signing Shane Victorino was a good idea? Comment!

Julian Edelman placed on IR + New Signing

Hey Guys!

cd22jim17_r.jpg

The Patriots have placed wide receiver/punt returner Julian Edelman on the injured reserve or IR. He has suffered a broken foot. Edelman faced a hard hit during the Patriots VS Jets game and was out for the rest of that game with a head concussion. He would later get this foot injury during the Patriots VS Dolphins game. He had scored 2 touchdowns during the Patriots vs Jets Thanksgiving game and has been doing great overall. During the Miami game he only caught for one pass, 13 yards because he had gotten injured. It's sad to see him injured because he will most likely miss the rest of the season and the postseason also. He had contributed greatly and with the absence of Gronkowski and now him, the Patriots will have to face the problem. They verse the Texans next week and then the 49ers, 2 great teams right now. Anyways to replace Edelman and Gronkowski the Patriots signed Donte Stallworth who is a wide receiver. Stallworth was released by us on August 27th, 2012 but because of our 2 missing wide receivers we have resigned him to fill in and help us out for the remainder of the season. Hopefully he'll help us out because we're going to need it. I mean, Aaron Hernandez and Wes Welker can't carry our offense. Anyways, do you think Edelman getting injured is going to effect us? Is signing Donte Stallworth a good decision? Comment!

Red Sox Sign Mike Napoli To 3 Year Deal

Hey Guys!

Catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli has agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with the Red Sox.

Guess what?! The Red Sox have signed Mike Napoli to a 3 year deal that is worth $39 million! I REPEAT THE RED SOX HAVE SIGNED MIKE NAPOLI!  Ok so yeah this is great, I mean it's not a HUGE deal like us signing Hamilton or something but still it's going to help our team out a lot. They signed him during the winter meetings at Nashville, Tennessee. Here's some stats to consider.

In 2012:
25 Home Runs, 56 RBI's, .227 Batting Average, 108 games

Lifetime stats at Fenway Park:
9 Home Runs, 20 RBI's, .307 Batting Average, 75 At Bats

So yes his 2012 stats don't look too pretty considering his batting average was .227, but he did manage to hit 25 home runs and 56 RBI's. He also only played in 108 games so he didn't have all the chances to hit more home runs and RBI's. BUT, the reason he only played in 108 games was because of injuries and that could be a question of concern, BUT once again, catching could have injured him throughout the seasons and we'll be using him at first base most likely which could keep him more healthy. Also he has had great stats at Fenway Park. I mean just take a look up there. That's pretty good in only 75 at bats. Maybe the green monster will benefit him by getting more home runs and extra base hits? I think it's great we signed him, he's really going to help out. At least we've finally signed a good free agent now. Now we should work on signing Cody Ross and maybe one more free agent. What do you think? Comment!

Patriots get by the Dolphins, Win 23-16

Hey Guys!

dolphinsfinalwin.jpg
(Ya know you like that)

The Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins Sunday by a score of 23-16. The Patriots have clinched the AFC East title and will be going to the playoffs this year, once again, no surprise. Now let me say right now that this was definitely not the best game the Patriots have played. Coming off high scoring games they're last 4 games, the Patriots only scored 23 points. Did I expect them to score a ton of points again? No. They couldn't keep it up for so long. Everyone was off their game today, except the defense. The defense actually did a great job. Tom Brady did not complete a lot of passes and he only threw 1 touchdown, keeping his touchdown pass streak to 44. The offense didn't get a lot of rushing yards and Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez were the ones who shined. We first scored in the first quarter with Stevan Ridley running it to the end zone. Miami would then get a field goal to make it 7-3. After that Tom Brady and Wes Welker would work together to score a touchdown by having Brady throw to Welker, who ran a little for a touchdown. The score would then be 14-3. Stephen Gostowski would then kick it for a field goal to make it 17-3. The Dolphins would score a touchdown off of their rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill running it for a touchdown. At the end of the first half the score would be 17-10. The 3rd quarter was scoreless and the 4th quarter we would get a field goal to make it 20-10. Then Miami would get a field goal to make it 20-13. And once again we would get a field goal to make it 23-13. ONE MORE TIME, the Dolphins would get a field goal to make it 23-16. We would then have possession of the ball and would hold let the clock run to the end of the game. This was a close game for the Pats and at some points it was nerve wrecking. Brady was not on his A game and neither was the offense at some points. Let's break down the grades now.

Quarterback B
Tom Brady
I'm sorry but Brady is getting a B. He only completed 24 out of 40 passes. He threw for 238 yards and had an interception. He also only threw for one touchdown. He should have done better and should be getting A's. Some of his throws weren't good either, some being overthrown to our offense. Still, he did help us on the last drive of the game.

Offense B
Wes Welker during first half action in Miami
Offense is getting a B because of Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez. Welker got 11 passes and Hernandez caught 8 passes, very good. Both caught for a lot of yards too. Now for the rest of the offense... Ehh... I don't have much to say. I mean, Ridley did run for 71 yards and got a touchdown but it wasn't his best performance we've seen. Other than that the rest of our offense did not do a great job and it wasn't their best performances either.

Defense A-
Vince Wilfork picks up the Tannehill fumble
Our defense did a great job, only letting up 16 points. Our offensive line did let up 4 sacks. Our defense had 3 sacks today and 2 came from one player, Trevor Scott. Some of our players had a lot of tackles too including 6 tackles from Kyle Arrington. Hopefully he won't test positive for a performance enhancing substance like Jermaine Cunningham.

Kicking B+
The B+ all goes to Stephen Gostowski for making 3 out 4 field goals and 2 out of 2 extra points. Once again he missed one field goal which has been an ongoing problem for him. I think after he missed that first field goal he performed better.

Stats (On Important Players)

Quarterback:
Tom Brady: 24/40 - 238 Yards - 1 Touchdown - 1 Interception

Offense: Receiving:
Wes Welker: 12 Receptions - 103 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Aaron Hernandez: 8 Receptions - 97 Yards

Rushing:
Stevan Ridley: 71 Yards - 1 Touchdown

Defense:
Kyle Arrington: 6 Tackles
Alfonzo Dennard: 5 Tackles
Jerod Mayo: 5 Tackles - 1 Sack
Brandon Spikes: 4 Tackles
Brandon Deaderick: 3 Tackles
Rob Ninkovich: 3 Tackles
Trevor Scott: 3 Tackles - 2 Sacks
Vince Wilfork: 2 Tackles - 1 Fumble Recovery

Kicking:
Stephen Gostowski: 3/4 on Field Goals 2/2 on Extra Points

Throughout most of the game the Patriots looked intimidated to the Dolphins. Brady struggled to make passes, our offense dropped passes, and our running backs were pushed back sometimes. I think the Patriots our going to perform better throughout the rest of the season and in the playoffs, they just had an off game today, that's all. Anyway, what do you think? Do you think they struggled in this game? Comment!
