(Torey Krug once again made a case to stay on the team with his second goal in as many games)
The Bruins were looking to build off of Sunday's overtime win, and thank you to Abudi for posting it, with another solid effort. And....well, that's exactly what they did. The Bruins took a 1-0 lead when new sensation Torey Krug got another goal. He made a great move with a puck that was on edge, slick handling it through his legs and was able to beat Lundqvist, who didn't have his best night. The Rangers would tie it up 1-1 when Brad Marchand made a turnover to Ryan Callahan, who skated in and made a great move to deke out Rask. In the second period, once again it was Torey Krug who kept the puck in the zone by another fancy stick handle, shot it on net and the rebound was picked up by Gregory Campbell who scored on a backhand. Less than a minute later though, Rick Nash would score to tie the game at 2. Surprisingly, it was Nash's first playoff goal this year. The B's would take a 3-2 lead when Boychuk scored on a wrist shot with Bergeron screening. Then they would go up 4-2 with a goal that was almost exactly the same as game 1's overtime goal. Bergeron passed it to Marchand right in front and he was able to tap it in. Then they would finish it off when Milan Lucic got his own rebound to scored the 5th goal of the night for Boston. And that's that, Bruins win 5-2 and take a 2-0 seried lead heading from one garden to another. The other one is of course Madison Square Garden where these two teams will play again tomorrow night.
