WES WELKER IS GONE, Signs With Broncos And Rival Quarterback Peyton Manning
WELL! There you have it! Newly Ex-Patriot wide receiver Wes Welker has signed with the Denver Broncos and rival quarterback Peyton Manning. I seriously do not know what to say... I mean, what an unloyal mother fu.... piece of sh..... son of a bit.... assho.... All in all, he is an unloyal player now.
Ok, so Welker was reported to get a deal from the Patriots earlier today but it was a deal that did not benefit him. Apparently, the deal was not enough money for Welker, once again earlier today, and but it was not talked about that much because it was not confirmed. Anyways, then about an hour and a half from 6 o clock on the east coast, there had been reports of Welker getting a deal from the Broncos. Then about 10-15 minutes later from that, you hear all over on ESPN, NFL.com, news channel, any football/sports related thing, that Welker had signed with the Broncos and was no longer a Patriot.
All over New England, they had gotten shocked. Ok, we knew there was a bigger chance of the Patriots not signing Welker, but to the Broncos?!?! Well, who knew where Welker would go. There were a lot of reasons why Welker did not want to sign with the Patriots, but the main reasons were because of disrespect, such as when the Patriots would play other players more in some games, or if Welker wasn't valued as much. And then money all tied into this. Welker did not think he was valued enough in New England because they did not offer him enough money that he wanted.
Anyways, Welker will now move from Tom Brady to Peyton Manning for a quarterback to throw to him. Welker had a good season in 2012 and good stats. Maybe the Patriots should have offered him more money since they lowered their salary cap from Tom Brady's extension deal. Still, I don't think the Patriots will be bad this season because they don't have Welker. A lot of stats show that Welker's catches were not of big yards, usually smaller yards per catch. Still, he had the ability to catch, except in the playoffs where he drops everything. The Pats still have Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd, and they still have the chance of signing Julian Edelman, to have good tight ends/wide receivers. Also, the Patriots could still convert Shane Vereen into a wide receiver instead of a running back, which seems like a better spot for him but it's the Patriots decision. Anyways, the Patriots could still be shopping around for free agents to add on the roster, we'll see what happens down the road.
