Jackie Bradley Jr Makes Red Sox Roster
Highly touted outfield prospect, Jackie Bradley Jr, has made the Red Sox opening day roster. Bradley will start in left field tomorrow in Mondays opening day game against the Yankees. Since, DH David Ortiz is injured, original left fielder Jonny Gomes will be put in the DH position, and Bradley will take the left field position for now. Bradley was also seen taking batting practice at the Yankees stadium today.
This Spring Training Bradley who is 22 years old, has hit 2 home runs, and 12 RBI's with a .419 batting average. He is known for getting on base a lot, and having patience at the plate, good plate discipline.
Bradley took the news well manager, John Farrel said. Actually, Bradley got the news while on the plane to New York. Here's what Farrel said.
"Like he's handled everything else, he didn't jump up and down." "He took it in stride. I think it speaks to the maturity of where he is as a person."
I think it is great to have Bradley start the season. Even though he could be moved down to the minors when Ortiz is healthy enough to play again, it'll still be nice to see him play. Anyways, I can't wait to see the Red Sox sweep the Yankees this week!
