The Red Sox have traded a player to be named or cash considerations for Seattle's, Mike Carp. Carp plays first base and outfield.
Carp had 12 home runs and 46 RBI's in 2011. This year his season was cut short because of injuries, and he ended up getting 5 home runs and 11 RBI's.
So, this player isn't that big of a deal and he will probably be in competition to make it onto the 25 man roster. He will most likely be in competition with Daniel Nava, and some other minor leaguer's/bench players we have.
