Jared Sullinger gets lumbar disk injury, out for YEAR

As if Rondo's injury wasn't bad enough. The Celtics lose another key player, rookie Jared Sullinger injured his back during the Kings game and WILL miss the rest of the season but is expected to return by training camp. With Sullinger gone, Brandon Bass will need to step up BIG time. This sucks, know Sullinger will have to be watching from the stands when we win the championship........

Bruins Gets Destroyed As Defense is Nowhere To Be Seen 7-4

Just look at how empty the Garden is in the background

The Bruins got destroyed last night against Buffalo by a score of 7-4. Ugh, where do I start? Defense was nowhere, and the Bruins got a lot of penalties, including a 5 on 3 in which 2 goals were scored. The B's defense just kept letting up 2 on 1's and great passes. And Buffalo took advantage of that. Some may argue that Rask shouldn't take the blame for this loss but 6 goals is unacceptable, even though the defense was weak tonight. Hey! At least Brad Marchand scored 2 goals. Also, for now on I'm going to only post important stats.

Tuukka Rask: 25 out of 31 shots saved
Brad Marchand: 2 Goals
Rich Peverley: 1 Goal
David Krejci: 1 Goal, 1 Hit
Patrice Bergeron: 2 Assists

So yeah this was a bad game for some of the Bruins. By that, I mean the Bruins defense and goal tending. Defense was awful tonight. They let up too many odd player positions. Also, Happy Birthday Tyler Seguin who turns 21. Guess who will be drinking tonight? Another thing to point out is that Buffalo's Thomas Vanek got a hat trick against us. Yippe... The Bruins lost in regulation for the first time this season. Well, I don't have much to say about this game, so yeah, next up we face the Leafs in Toronto. This should be interesting.

Patriots Free Agents That Need To Be Resigned + Ed Reed

I thought I'd share some of the Patriots free agents who they should resign. Well, here it goes.

Wes Welker

Ask anyone, and they'll tell you Welker had a great season this year, unless your asking bandwagon fans who are still mad about Welker dropping passes in the playoffs. Anyways, Welker finished the season with 100+ receptions and 1300+ yards, and 6 touchdowns. Welker also had some nice kick returns for us during some games. If the Patriots don't resign him, they are going to be in a hole considering they don't have that many good wide receivers. If the Patriot DO resign him, they are going to have a great year and could franchise Welker into a Pats career. So my thought is, RESIGN HIM.

Aqib Talib

Aqib Talib was thought to be a mediocre signing when the Pats signed him. He proved everyone wrong. Talib did great for us in key games. He had a lot of tackles during the Patriots - Texans playoff game. Even though he got off to a slow start, he still did good with us later in the season. If the Patriots don't resign him, it might not be that big of deal but he can help. If the Patriots DO resign him, expect a great season from him. My thought, RESIGN HIM.

Kyle Arrington

Arrington did a great job this year too. He had 63 tackles this year and helped out a lot. He was a key player for the defense this year and he's only 26 years old. If the Patriots sign  him now, we could get him at the prime of his career. I think he will benefit us during this season. If the Patriots don't resign him we could have a hole in the defense. If the Patriots do resign him, he could help out a lot. My thought is to RESIGN HIM.

Ed Reed

Yes, I know Ed Reed is not a Patriots player but I'm putting him in here because he is going to be a free agent after this Super Bowl, and the Pats need him. Ed Reed is a safety for the Baltimore Ravens, for any of you who don't know, yes I'm talking to you Abudi and Anthony... just kidding. Anyways, Reed had 58 tackles this year, along with 4 interceptions. Not his best season but he helped Baltimore in key events such as the playoffs. Let's remind you that the Ravens were 10-6 this year and started at the first round of the playoffs and are now going to play in the Super Bowl. Reed might have been quiet during the first half of the season but towards later in the season, he sprouted and became better. The only thing that would hold the Patriots back from signing him is the kick/slide issue with Tom Brady during the 2013 AFC championship game. The NFL fined Brady for the kick/slide but Reed said he didn't think Brady was trying to kick him. Anyways, if the Patriots are brave enough to ignore that, then signing him will be a good idea. If the Patriots don't sign him, it might not affect them, but if they DO resign him, Reed could make a big impact on the defense. My thought is to SIGN HIM.

So yeah, the Patriots will have to resign some of these free agents or they could face some trouble down the road for next season. Welker should definitely be signed and so should Reed. I think Welker will get resigned but Reed, I'm not so sure about yet. Anyways, what do you think about all these free agents?

Patriots Resign Linebacker Dane Fletcher

The Patriots have resigned linebacker Dane Fletcher to a one year deal. Fletcher, who will be starting his 4th season, 55 tackles in 23 games. In 2012, he was expected to be the starting linebacker but he suffered an injury. He has never really put in much work for the Pats but he could be helpful at some point. The Pats had a choice of not signing him and letting him go, but they chose to resign him. Some other key players the Pats will have choices to resign or not are Wes Welker, Aqib Talib, and Patrick Chung. Anyways, hopefully Fletcher puts in some work next season.

Red Sox Sign Lyle Overbay To Minor League Deal

Arizona Diamondbacks v Philadelphia PhilliesThe Red Sox have signed first baseman, Lyle Overbay, to a minor league deal. Overbay is 36 years old and his best season was in 2006 with the Blue Jays when he had a .312 batting average and 22 home runs to go with that. This year he had 2 home runs and 10 RBI's in 65 games. Yeah, I know, not good. Anyways, Overbay is probably going to play as a backup first baseman and will most likely be a bench player. To be honest, I think this signing is pretty useless. Just the look of this guy gives me the wrong vibes... ehh...

Celtics easily defeat Kings 99-81

(You want the Truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!)

The Celtics win there 2nd straight without Rondo and are now 22-23. Paul Pierce came up big this game and was the main reason we won. Lets look at the stats: (Note: Sullinger left the game with an injury and he was a starter so we'll just pretend Bass started)

Paul Pierce: 16 points 10 rebounds 4 assists

Brandon Bass: 12 points 4 rebounds and shot 4-7. Know thats what I want from Bass

Kevin Garnett: 13 points 9 rebounds and 5 assists

Avery Bradley: 11 points 5 rebounds

Courtney Lee: 9 points 3 assists

Nice win for the Celtics but it was expected against a bad team. Next up Magic.

Tuukka Rask Saves Game In Shootout, Win 2-1

Bruins goalie, Tuukka Rask came up big this game, saving 25 shots. If it wasn't for Rask letting in only 1 goal and saving us in the shootout, we wouldn't have won because our offense was nowhere to be seen. Well, I can't say that for everyone because we had our chances at some point, but New Jersey's backup goalie also did a superb job in net. Anyways, the only goal was scored by Nathan Horton and it was again, a late goal in the 3rd period, and it was a nice one too! The Bruins headed into over time but could not capitalize on their chances and had to settle for the shoot out. Tyler Seguin came on the ice first and scored but was forced to redo because of a certain object that was thrown on the ice and apparently distracted New Jersey's goalie. So on his second chance, what does he do? MISS THE NET! JUST KIDDING! He scores again to make sure that he did not get ripped off of his first chance. Then, Ilya Kovalchuk would score for the Devils, the only person to score in the shootout for them. Brad Marchand would score in round 6 and, after, Rask would make the save and earn us the win. Let's look at the stats.

Tuukka Rask: 25 out of 26 shots saved
Milan Lucic: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Nathan Horton: 1 Goal, 2 Hits
David Krejci: 1 Assist, 1 Hit
Dennis Seidenberg: 5 Hits
Andrew Ference: 6 Hits

Player Of The Game: Tuukka Rask

The B's offense had trouble this game but Seguin, Marchand, and Rask saved us in the shootout. They remain undefeated in regulation so far. Anways, next up, we verse the Sabres, should be an easy win.
