Bruins Survive Devils Rally Beat New Jersey 5-4

Gregory Campbell started off the scoring from a nice pass by Jagr, Daniell Paille would score a shorthanded goal a few minutes later to make it 2-0. Cambell would also score a shorty for his second of the game. Zdeno Chara would score on a powerplay to make it 4-0 and just when it seemed like the Bruins would blow them out Patrick Ellias and Travis Zajac(shorthanded) would score to make it 4-2 at the end of 2. Andy Greene would score to make it 4-3 but Seguin would score to make it back to a 2 goal game BUT Matt D'Agostini would score with 37 seconds to make it 5-4 but the Bruins would shut them out the rest of the way to secure the two points. Lets look at the stats:

Anton Khudobin: 24 out of 28 shots saved
Gregory Campbell: 2 goals
Daniel Paille: 1 goal and 1 assist
Zdeno Chara: 1 goal
Tyler Seguin: 1 goal
Jaromir Jagr: 2 assists

Player of the Game: Gregory Campbell

So the Bruins got a lucky win(like usual) and they take over 1st spot in the division for now though. Also, Marchand left the game from an injury after a cheap shot by Volchenkov who jumped up and elbowed him, Volchenkov was suspended 4 games. They face the Islanders today who are in 7th and can make the playoffs for the first time since 2006-2007. They need 1 point to clinch a playoff spot and I hope this game goes to OT because I really want  the Islanders to make the playoffs.

Celtics Fall To Nets 101-93

In a game where the Celtics can make a statement, they blew it. Deron Williams lead the Nets with 29 points and 12 assists in probably the last time these two teams will meet since the only time they can meet will be in the Conference Finals and well lets be honest.... thats not going to happen(for the Nets!) Lets look at the stats:

Jeff Green: 11 points

Brandon Bass: 10 points

Kevin Garnett: 11 points and 8 rebounds

Paul Pierce: 23 points

Avery Bradley: 2 points

If we want any chance of beating the Knicks in the first round people like Bradley and Green need to step up Green hasnt been doing good and neither is Bradley right now the Knicks could beat us easily. The Celtics have another big test to prove themselves next time against the Heat.

Offence FINALLY shows up As Bruins Beat Hurricanes 6-2

Claude made some line changes before the game and it worked out pretty good. Rich Peverly started off the scoring 3 minutes into the game, a few minutes later Brad Marchand would score and Hurricanes goalie Justin Peters gets pulled as Dan Ellis comes in. Didn't matter though as Marchand would score again to make it 3-0. Ference and Caron would score in the second to make it 5-0. After a review that turned aside a Canes goal the Canes would score shortly after from Dwyer and less than a minute after from Bowman. But Horton would get a tip in to put it away. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 40 out of 42 shots saved
Brad Marchand: 2 goals
Rich Peverly: 1 goal and assist
Andrew Ference: 1 goal and assist
Jordan Caron: 1 goal
Nathan Horon: 1 goal
Dennis Seidenberg: 3 assists

Player of the Game: Tuukka Rask

Although the offence showed up the defense didn't as Rask had to make 40 saves and some great ones to. The Bruins allowed 40 or more shots on goal 3 out of the last 4 games. Yikes. Rask is bailing them out. Anyway the Bruins face the Devils tomorrow.

Nava's Homer Leads Sox Past O's In Home Opener 3-1

Nava, Buchholz lead Red Sox over Orioles 3-1
Welcome to Fenway Park! The Red Sox beat the Orioles Monday 3-1, in the home opener. The game was scoreless, and was a pitchers battle, up until the bottom of the 7th, when Daniel Nava homered in his 2nd straight game, sending a deep 3 run home run over the green monster. Joel Hanrahan came into the 9th to close out the game and earn his save. He did have trouble though, giving up a home run to his first batter, Adam Jones.

Pierce And Garnett Return As Celtics Beat Wizards 107-96

(Celtics Paul Pierce getting the Auerbach award for the second time in his career)

Sorry I haven't been updating the Celtics. KG and Pierce return and give the Celtics a nice win over the Wizards. Lets look at the stats:

Jeff Green: 8 points

Brandon Bass: 20 points 6 rebounds and shot 9-12

Kevin Garnett: 12 points and 6 rebounds

Paul Pierce: 15 points and 5 assists

Avery Bradley: 10 points

Since I haven't been posting Celtics lately i'm gonna make this a bit longer than usual. First off Bass gets the Player of the Game, he's been playing great basketball lately. Green is officialy going to be a starter from now on. Now on to the playoff picture. In the West Lakers, Mavericks, and Jazz are fighting for the 8th spot. Now onto the East. All the teams clinched the playoffs heres the standings:

1. Heat(Clinched East)
2. Knicks(Just about clinched division)
3. Pacers(Clinched division)
4. Nets
5. Bulls
6. Hawks
7. Celtics
8.Bucks

So it looks like the Celtics are going to face the Knicks who are on a 12 game winning streak. C's are 1.5 games back of 6th though. But I wouldn't mind facing New York it would be a great series.

Red Sox Crush Blue Jays 13-0

Will Middlebrooks has his first career three-HR game, adding a double and four RBI to lead the Boston offense. (Getty Images)
The Red Sox mangled the Blue Jays Sunday afternoon. 13-0. They closed the series out by taking 2 out of 3 games, no sweep yet boys. Anyways, a lot of homers were hit in this game, 6 total, and 3 of them were hit by Will Middlebrooks. Middlebrooks, nearly got his 4th home run of the game but sadly hit a deep fly ball to the warning track. Anyways, the offense did great and so did the pitching. Lester was dominant in this game, and the Blue Jays are looking like the old Blue Jays that we all know. The Red Sox? The Red Sox have a new fresh look that is turning out to be great!

Pitching

So as you see the offense was definitely here today, tallying 15 hits and 13 runs. I mean everyone was doing good, well I can't say everyone... cough cough... Salty... Bradley... ANYWAYS, the Red Sox will open up their home opener tomorrow at 2 against the Baltimore Orioles. The Red Sox will be looking to win their home opener at Fenway Park tomorrow, this should be a great game! LET'S GO RED SOX!

Bruins Fall To Habs AGAIN Lose 2-1

Micheal Ryder loves to play the Bruins. Alex Galchenyuk started of the scoring after a scramble in the Bruins net. Micheal Ryder would score on the powerplay to make it 2-0. Paille would score on a tip to make it 2-1. And in the final minute the Bruins got a powerplay and Rask was pulled so it was 6 against 4 and what happened? We get 0 shots on goal!! More on that later. Lets look at the stats:

Tuukka Rask: 27 out of 29 shots saved
Daniel Paille: 1 goal

The whole team played awful, other than Rask. Now back to the powerplay, HOW DO WE GET 0 SHOTS ON GOAL ON A 6 ON 4!!! David Krechi was asked that question and he answered by saying the quality on the ice was bad... You've got to be kidding me. Its stuff like this that makes me embarrased to be a Bruins fan. And another dumb move was putting Jagr on a line with Cambell and Paillle WHY?! Ugh. Celtics play the Wizards today and KG and Pierce are expected to play. Oh and the Red Sox are playing.
