Rondo's Streak Comes To An End, As Celtics Fall To Nets 95-83
(Brawl that got Rondo Ejected and ruined his streak)
This is mostly going to be a negative post since barely anything was positive coming out of this game. Where do I start? The game our defense does good, our offence is nowhere to be seen. Our team high was 16 points! This time there is no excuses when we had Rondo we where down by like 20 and he only had 3 assists. Now let's talk about the "brawl". Kevin Garnett was driving hard to the basket and got fouled hard and Rondo didn't approve so he got in a pushing fight with Nets foward, Kris Humphries and both got ejected along with Gerald Wallace. Rondo will most likely get suspended and I'll update you when I hear about it. Even Doc Rivers called out the Celtics saying there "weak", and i agree 100%. They need to drive to the basket and Pierce needs to stop hogging and give it more to Jason Terry. One positive note is that we face Portland(6-9) next. So what do you think about this game, comment!
(UPDATE: RONDO HAS BEEN SUSPENDED 2 GAMES AND KG HAS BEEN FINED 25,000)

BJ Upton signs with Braves, what's next for the Red Sox?
Hey Guys!
Before:
After:
BJ Upton signing his contract with the Braves
Before:
After:
BJ Upton signing his contract with the Braves
Free agent outfielder BJ Upton has signed with the Atlanta Braves for a 5 year $75 million dollar deal! Man that's a lot of money but anyways BJ Upton has signed with the Braves for a reason. The reason is that their former all star outfielder Michael Bourn is probably not going to sign with them because he's a free agent now. Michael Bourn is 29 years old and is exploring free agency. Now that the Braves acquired BJ Upton they will have a long term outfielder for 5 years. So what does this have to do with the Red Sox? Absolutely nothing in money wise but in player wise it could matter. See, this could have been a free agent the Red Sox could have signed and WE could have this long term great outfielder but NOOO. There is still free agents out there but they're starting to explore free agency by discussing with other teams. Some rumors have been about Giancarlo Stanton. Now most likely, Stanton will not be leaving the Marlins but let's talk a possible deal. One possible deal that could happen is trading Jacoby Ellsbury, and 2-3 young prospects to the Marlins for just one player: Giancarlo Stanton. This might seem like a stupid deal to some of you but Stanton is a powerful home run hitter and he is just something the Red Sox would need. Also, getting Stanton to replace Ellsbury would be a better deal and those prospects that we would trade away could never even be good when they get to the majors. Anyways, a deal like this probably wouldn't happen but I would sure like it to happen. So what do you think? Do you think BJ Upton signing away to the Braves effects us? Is getting Giancarlo Stanton a good idea? Comment!

MLB Hall of Fame Ballots
Hey Guys!
Yes I know this isn't fully Boston Sports related but I will also be posting important sports news if there is any. So the MLB Hall of Fame Ballots were released yesterday and there is a lot of first time candidates on there. Now this Hall of Fame Ballot is interesting because a lot of the players on here have been questioned to steroid use. For example, Mark McGwire who admitted using steroids, and Barry Bonds who wasn't proven but was linked to steroid cases and was in the steroid scandal called Balco. If you looked at Barry Bonds when he first joined the league he was skinny. Towards later in his career he was big and bulgy and had huge muscles. The truth will never be known unless he confesses. Also another player would be Roger Clemens who pitched for the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Astros, and Yankees throughout his career. Roger Clemens was involved in a steroid case where we was proven innocent and not guilty on June 18th, 2012. So he may be a player who wasn't on them but the others can be questioned. Anyway, here is who on the ballot.
2013 Candidates
Jeff Bagwell
Craig Biggio
Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Edgar Martinez
Don Mattingly
Fred McGriff
Mark McGwire
Jack Morris
Dale Murphy
Rafael Palmeiro
Mike Piazza
Tim Raines
Curt Schilling
Lee Smith
Sammy Sosa
Alan Trammel
Larry Walker
Bernie Williams
So yeah those were the 2013 Hall of Fame candidates and I saw 2 Red Sox players on there that I know, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling. Ah yes, 2 of the greatest pitchers in MLB and they were both on the Red Sox at one point. Roger Clemens was on the Red Sox during the 80's when he was a dominant pitcher and Curt Schilling was on the Red Sox when we won the 2004 and 2007 World Series. Curt Schilling pitched a memorable game in the 2004 NLCS comeback called the Bloody Sock game. His ankle was injured but he still pitched a great game and helped us complete the comeback down 3-0. He wasn't just know for that even though that was on of his biggest games, he still pitched great throughout his 20 year career. Anyways what do you think? Do you think alleged steroid users Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds should even be on this ballot? Comment!

Key Game: Nets VS Celtics
From now on when ever there is a big game for the Celtics im gonna do a pre-game post. This game the Celtics will face the Nets who came off a big win over the Knicks. All divisional games are important (except when you face the Raptors). Here is a couple reasons why this game is a "key game".
1. Its a divisional game! The Celtics are 1.5 games behind the divison leader Nets(9-4) and look to make a statement. Everyone is counting out the Celtics for the division when they lost in Brooklyn. But there the 5 time in a row Atlantic Division winners. Never count them out.
2. Rondo could pass John Skelton for 2nd all time with 10 or more assists. Enough said.
So what do you think the outcome of the game will be? Comment(or not)

Red Sox Trade 3 Players
Hey Guys!
Danny Valencia Zach Stewart
The Red Sox have traded 3 players in 3 different deals. One of the deals being: Danny Valencia to the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations and Zach Stewart to the Pirates for a player to be named. Danny Valencia and Zach Stewart were not really good players for the Red Sox this year. Danny Valencia had 1 home run, 4 RBIs, and a .143 batting average in 10 games. He was never really helpful. And Zach Stewart was even worst, he had a 22.24 ERA in 2 games in which he started. Anyways, so were getting cash and a player. The player has not been named yet. Also we traded another guy named Sandy Rosario to the Oakland Athletics for a player to be named but he did not play for us this year. We got him from the Marlins over the off season. Anyways this trade means nothing to us because all we did was lose horrible players and so far we have gotten players but they are not named yet. I will update this if I hear who we got.

Red Sox Name Greg Colbrunn Hitting Coach
Hey Guys!
Greg Colbrunn
The Red Sox have named Greg Colbrunn their new hitting coach. Greg Colbrunn never really had a great career except for when he won the 2001 World Series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is 43 and he retired from being an MLB player in 2004 when he was age 34. For the past 6 years he has been with the New York Yankees Single A minor league team. He has been their hitting coach and their manager. Now, the Red Sox have hired him to be our hitting coach. This isn't that big of a deal but what do you think?

Patriots Jermaine Cunningham Suspended for 4 Games
Hey Guys!
Sadly, another Patriots player has been suspended for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. That person is Jermaine Cunningham. He will not be payed and is being suspended for 4 games. He will be eligible to come back on December 24th. Also, the reason I said another player is because our running back Brandon Bolden was suspended in November. He will be back on December 3rd. Anyway, Jermaine Cunningham had a great game and a lot of tackles the other night versing the Jets but that all came to end when Boston found out that he is using a performance enhancing substance. Anyway, what do you think about this? Isn't this pathetic?

Celtics Survive Orlando In OT Win 116-110
(Rondo ties John Skelton for 2nd most consecutive streak with at least 10 assists)
For the 6th consecutive time the Celtics(8-6) beat the Magic (5-8) and have now won 2 in a row. Lets take a quick look at the stats:
Paul Pierce: 23 points 5 rebounds and went 3-5 shooting 3's.
Brandon Bass: 13 points 12 rebounds and went 3-4 at the free throw line.
Kevin Garnett: 24 points(game high) 10 rebounds and shot 10-17.
Jason Terry: 5 points 3 assists and had a +/- of 16? Ugh as soon as I start complementing him and that we don't need allen....
Rajon Rondo: 15 points 16 assists and 9 rebounds.
Pretty good stats for the starters other than Terry, but who knows it's just one game maybe he'll do better next game. Anyway for the 4th straight game our defense allowed more than 100 points, not good. Our next game is against the Nets and this time with Rondo we should be able to beat them. So what do you think? Comment!

Celtics "Shock" Thunder Win 108-100
(Celtics Kevin Garnett hugging old teammate Kendrick Perkins)
See what I did there in the title? All jokes aside, the Celtics 2 days after a dissapointing loss to the Spurs they come back big with a huge win over the Thunder. I never lost faith on the C's. Our whole team played great it. Although the Thunder where making a comeback the Celtics never gave up and Jason Terry put the dagger with a 3 with a little over a minute to go. Anyway lets look at the grades.
Rajon Rondo: A
Rondo played great again as always with 6 points 8 rebounds and 16 assists, continuing his streak and is now 1 behind Skelton for 2nd most.
Paul Pierce: A
Pierce, wow I thought he was off his game but did he prove me wrong tonight. He had thet team high 27 points, 4 rebounds 3 steals and he went 7-7 at the free throw line. He was a big part of the win.
Kevin Garnett: A
KG played 32 minutes and had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Not bad for a 36 year old.
Jason Terry: A-
Terry got 16 points and went 4-6 shooting 3's and one of them was the dagger. Who needs Ray Allen?
Brandon Bass: C
Bass had 6 points for us, had 6 rebounds and shot 3-12, not good.
Bench: A+
The main reason we won was because of the bench. They outscored the Thunders bench 35-13. What more could you ask for?
Defense: B+
I know allowing 100 points isn't good but it was against one of the best offensive team in the league and the Western Conference Champions from last year, that's pretty good.
Anyway with that win we improve to 7-6 but with 3 winnable games coming up against, Magic (5-7) Nets (7-4) and Portland (6-6) we could improve to 10-6. Who knows maybe with this win it could be the start of something. So what do you think? Comment!

Red Sox Offering Mike Napoli 3 Year Deal
Hey Guys!
According to reports and the media the Red Sox have offered Mike Napoli a 3 year deal but he is looking for a 4 year deal. As of today Mike Napoli wants to meet with the Seattle Mariners because they could be offering him a 4 year deal. The reason they could be offering him a 4 year deal because Seattle does not have any good catchers and the Red Sox want to use him as a first baseman most likely. Mike Napoli's choice of play is at his original spot, the catchers position, but maybe Mike Napoli doesn't want to go on a team that is so bad like Seattle. Maybe he wants to go on a team that has a chance of going to the playoffs or he might just want to go the team that's offering him the most. Either way, I think he should sign with the Red Sox because he could fill the hole at first base but who knows what he'll do. Anyways, what do you think? Comment!

NHL Cancels 2 More Weeks and All Star Game
Hey Guys!
The NHL has cancelled 2 more weeks of the season and a special event, the all star game. So far the lockout has been 69 days and cancelling the whole season is getting closer. Now I'm not saying that they will cancel the whole season but it is getting closer. A lot of people are mad about this season and cancelling the all star game is just making fans even more unhappy. Even if this season doesn't get cancelled it's not going to be enjoyable unless your team makes it to the playoffs because then you'll have more games to watch. Anyways, hopefully their is a season...

Patriots destroy Jets 49-19 on Thanksgiving night game!
Hey Guys!
Tom Brady eating a turkey wing after this great win over the Jets.
I'm sorry but I had to show this.
So the Patriots destroyed the Jets 49-19 at THEIR field on this Thanksgiving night game. They even fed Tom Brady and a couple of other teammates a turkey after the game. This was pretty much a blowout game for the Jets. During the first quarter Tom Brady's first play was intentional grounding and it started to look like this game wasn't going to be good. So when the first quarter ended it was 0-0. But then towards the beginning of the 2nd quarter Tom Brady hit up Wes Welker with a short pass for a touchdown! We would then score another touchdown to make it 14-0 by having a 83 yard touchdown from Shane Vereen. We would then score 2 more touchdowns making it 28-0. We scored one on a Steve Gregory fumble recovery who ran it 32 yards while recovering the ball for a touchdown. The next touchdown was when Julian Edelman picked up a fumble and ran it for 22 yards for a touchdown. We scored these 3 touchdowns in 52 seconds. With 3 minutes left in the first half of the game, we would score another touchdown from a 56 yard pass from Tom Brady to Julian Edelman. Then, Tim Tebow chants were starting to be heard because their fans weren't happy at all. At the end of the second half the score was 35-3. The Jets would later score a touchdown in the 3rd quarter and then getting a safety for 2 points. Tom Brady would then run a few yards for a touchdown in the 4th quarter to make it 42-12. The Jets would score another touchdown making it 42-19 but we would also score another touchdown to then make it 49-19. Ok now here's the grades.
Quarterback A:
Tom Brady did a great job once again. He threw for 3 touchdowns and ran a few yards for a touchdown himself. He made great passes and overall he was just great. Towards the end of the game he was benched for Ryan Mallet so that he could get rest because we had a big lead, again.
Offense A:
Our offense also did a great job because they caught a lot of passes for a lot of yards. They also ran for a lot of yards too. Stevan Ridley did a great job at rushing, because he ran for 97 yards. Also Shane Vereen and Wes Welker had a lot of great catches and a lot of yards too. They definitely deserved the A.
Defense A:
Just like the rest of our team, they also did great. Our Offensive Line did a good job blocking Tom Brady last night. Also we had some big hits too and one of the hits even led to a fumble. Tom Brady never got sacked last night and our defense had 2 sacks on the night. Plus, the only let up 19 points and our defense is finally stepping it up.
Kicking B+:
Once again, Stephen Gostkowski missed a field goal. It was around 30 yards and there should have been no excuses. Our kicker might be having some troubles with kicking but he's doing good on extra points and went 7 for 7 on the night for extra points.
Now here are the stats.
Stats (On important players)
Quarterback:
Tom Brady: 18/28 - 323 Yards - 3 Touchdowns - 0 Interceptions
Offense: Receiving:
Shane Vereen: 2 Receptions - 91 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Wes Welker: 7 Receptions - 71 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Julian Edelman: 2 Receptions - 64 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Rushing:
Stevan Ridley: 97 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Shane Vereen: 42 Yards - 0 Touchdowns
Tom Brady: 5 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Defense:
Jerod Mayo: 8 Tackles - 1 Sack
Brandon Spikes: 7 Tackles
Alfonzo Dennard: 5 Tackles
Steve Gregory: 5 Tackles - 1 Interception
Jermaine Cunningham: 4 Tackles
Devin McCourty: 4 Tackles
Dont'a Hightower: 3 Tackles - 1 Sack
Kicking:
Stephen Gostowski: 0 for 1 on Field Goals 7 for 7 on Extra Points
So this was a big game for the Patriots. Defense has been stepping it up, we've been having high scoring games. After this game we verse the Dolphin, another easy win. Also, after that game we verse the Texans and 49ers. Now those games I'm not sure about yet. Anyways, what do you think about this game? How do you think the rest of the Patriots season will look like? Comment!

Red Sox Sign Jonny Gomes to 2 Year Deal
Hey Guys!
A couple days ago the Red Sox signed outfielder Jonny Gomes to a 2 year deal that is worth $10 million. Jonny Gomes was never an outstanding player. He never had more than 21 home runs. His best season was when he had 18 Home Runs and 86 RBI's in 2010 with the Cincinnati Reds. This year he was with the Oakland Athletics, here are his stats from this year.
Home Runs: 18
RBIs: 47
Batting Average: .262
Games: 99
So this year he only played in 99 games and that's not too bad for 99 games. Now the question is: What are the Red Sox going to do with Cody Ross? Now that they are signing Jonny Gomes, Cody Ross could be gone in Boston. Many people are wondering what's going on but nothing has been heard yet. I personally want Cody Ross to stay. I don't want this Jonny Gomes guy, I want Cody Ross. But it's their decision and we'll see what happens. So what do you think about this trade? Comment!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Guys!
Just came on to say Happy Thanksgiving! There's not much to say except that the Patriots and Jets will be playing tonight at 8:20 PM. I think the Patriots got this win in the bag already. We're simply just a better team. Also, if our defense continues to be good then we'll finally know how the rest of the season is going to be like. I think our defense is going to become better. Even though we're missing Gronkowski, we can still win because we have other players on offense and better yet, we still have our great quarterback, Tom Brady! Well, I guess that's it, have a great Thanksgiving! Bye!

Defence Struggle Continues As Celtics Fall To Spurs 112-100
Another day another loss for the Celtics(6-6) as they fall to .500 for the first time since November 9th. The Spurs(9-3) where no doubt the dominant team from begining to end. The last 2 games the Celtics where outscored 215-183. Rondo had 22 points, Pierce had 19 and Bass had 16. The only bright side of the game was that Rondo continued his double digit assist streak with 15 assists and now has 35 consecutive games with double digit assists and is behind John Skelton (37) and Magic Johnson (46). The offence isnt the problem as the starters all got double digit points but the defence needs to step it up. Next game is definately gonna be a problem as they face the offensive power house OKC Thunder (9-3) can somebody say BLOWOUT. There is no chance we could beat Thunder with our defence but stranger things have happened, like the Bobcats(6-4) being 4th in the East, after having 7 wins the whole season last year. So what do you think the Celtics need to do to win this game? Comment!

Red Sox Name Arnie Beyeler First Base Coach
Hey Guys!
Credits to ESPN.com
Arnie Beyeler celebrating the Governor's Cup with his Pawtucket team.
So the Red Sox named Arnie Beyeler their first base coach. Arnie Beyeler has been in the minors for 26 years. He has been a player, coach, and manager in the minors for 26 years. He has been a manager for Pawtucket for the last two seasons. This year, he led Pawtucket to the Governor's Cup and had a great year. He is finally joining the majors after 26 years and is the Red Sox's first base coach. He will probably not have that much effect for us but it's great for him joining the majors for once. One effect he will probably have is our minor league players. He will probably be able to work with them better and he will know them more, but it's not that big of a deal. So anyway, does this even matter to you? Comment!

One effect he will probably have is our minor league players. He will probably be able to work with them better and he will know them more, but it's not that big of a deal. So anyway, does this even matter to you? Comment!

Rob Gronkowski Injured But Got Surgery Today
Hey Guys!
So during last nights game when the Patriots killed the Colts by a score of 59-24, Gronkowski got injured. He had 2 touchdowns in that game but had to leave the game due to injury, a broken left forearm. Unfortunately this is bad for the Patriots and their fans because he will be out 4-6 weeks and will probably miss the rest of the regular season. This isn't the worst thing to happen to us because we still have Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez to fill in for Gronkowski. It's not certain who will be filling in for Gronkowski but so far the only one that seems reasonable is Aaron Hernandez. So anyways, he got surgery and is healing but will be out 4-6 weeks. Listen, I still have plenty of hope for the Patriots and I know they'll be making the playoffs. What do you think? Comment!

Patriots killed the Colts!
Hey Guys!
Teammates Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski congratulate each other after a touchdown.
Man, what a game for the Patriots last Sunday night. They killed the Colts 59-24 tying the most points scored in a game for their franchise. Even though they couldn't achieve the goal of scoring the most points in their franchise it was still a great game. It started off bad with the Colts getting the first touchdown of the game taking an early 7-0 lead. But then Gronkowski and Brady teamed up for a touchdown to tie it up 7-7. After that the Colts got yet another touchdown with a good pass from Colts quarterback, Andrew Luck. We finally came back with another touchdown from a punt return that Julian Edelman got and ran it for 68 yards for the touchdown, all on a punt return. We would then score yet another touchdown from Aqib Talib on his Patriots debut. Talib intercepted the football and then ran it 59 yards for a touchdown. There was big highlights of this game but I think the two biggest touchdowns were Julian Edelman's punt return touchdown and Aqib Talib interception touchdown. Let's talk about this game. Here are their grades.
Quarterback A :
Tom Brady did a great job. He passed for 3 touchdown's and had 331 yards total in the game. With the Colts taking an early lead, he quickly responded with a touchdown for his team. Towards the end of the game he was benched because we had a big lead and he could have the rest for Thursday's game.
Offense A- :
For the most part the offense did a great job but the reason they got the A- for dropping a FEW passes and a fumble. But that was not even a problem, they did a good job by intercepting, rushing, and catching.
Talib had a nice interception and Gronkowski had 2 touchdowns and Welker had some nice catches. On our rushing, Stevan Ridley had 28 yards and a touchdown, Shane Vereen had 40 yards and a touchdown and Julian Edelman had 47 yards but no touchdown on RUSHING. He had a touchdown on a punt return.
Defense B+ :
Our defense was good also, but they let up 24 points. Now, I'm not saying that is bad because it's better than last time versing the Bills when they let up 31 points. The defense wasn't bad, I do have to admit it but they had their ups and downs when Talib did a bad job letting up the second touchdown for the Colts and they did let up a lot of rushing yards. But they were able to stop them from scoring, that was their main objective and they succeeded it.
Kicking: B+
Kicking got a B+ because of the 30 something yard missed field goal. Stephen Gostkowski should have made it but anyways he went 1/2 on the night with field goals and completed all extra points going 8 for 8.
Stats (on important players in the game):
Quarterback:
Tom Brady: 24/35 - 331 Yards - 3 Touchdowns - 0 Interceptions
Offense: Receiving:
Rob Gronkowski - 7 Receptions - 137 Yards - 2 Touchdowns
Wes Welker: 7 Receptions - 80 Yards - 0 Touchdowns
Julian Edelman: 5 Receptions - 58 Yards - 1 Touchdown
Rushing:
Julian Edelman: 47 Yards 0 Touchdowns
Shane Vereen: 40 Yards 1 Touchdown
Stevan Ridley: 28 Yards 1 Touchdown
Defense:
Aqib Talib: 1 Interception 5 Tackles
Rob Ninkovich: 1 Sack 4 Tackles
Devin McCourty: 4 Tackles
Kicking:
Stephen Gostkowski: 1 for 2 on Field Goals 8 for 8 on Extra Points
So, yes, this was a big post but I hope you enjoyed it. I tried to put as much information as I could. I didn't put all stats because some didn't matter to the game. The Patriots are 28-0 after the second half starting back from 2010. What do you think about this game? Do you think the Patriots will not get a loss in this second half of the season? Comment!

Celtics lose bigtime..... to the Pistons?!?!?!
For the 2nd time this week the Celtics(6-5) played back to back and again winning the first game but losing the second. This time they lost to the Pistons(2-9) by a whopping 83-103! To the Pistons of all teams. At 6-5 they could easily go 6-7 as there next 2 games are against the Spurs (8-2) and the Thunder (8-3). Rondo has been outstanding for us averaging 12.5 assists per game, his double digit assist record is now at 34 straight,3rd most in NBA history. Kevin Garnett is getting back to rythym, while Pierce hasnt been good as of late, he's on pace to have his worst season since his rookie season. If the Celtics want to be legitimate contenders they need to step up big time and avoind injuries.

Quick Post/Update
Hey Guys!
This is a quick post/update. I'm going to be having a new member join. He's my friend and I know him. He's going to be doing the Celtics games recaps and highlights. He will also talk about their team itself and the Patriots too. So yeah that's all you really need to know, a Patriots recap might either come tonight or tomorrow, I'm not sure yet. So yeah, a new member is joining, my friend, bye!

MVP! MVP! MVP!
Hey Guys!
So, the MVP winners were announced and they are... MIGUEL CABRERA FOR AMERICAN LEAGUE AND BUSTER POSEY FOR NATIONAL LEAGUE! Lets get down to the details...
Miguel Cabrera
That's when Miguel Cabrera received an ovation for winning the Triple Crown. Anyways, his stats were amazing this year.
Home Runs: 44
RBI's: 139
Batting Average: .330
Games: 161
Last year he had a .344 average, just to notice. So yeah, these were his amazing stats. He had a great year but sadly could not produce much offense during the postseason. He was the first Triple Crown winner since 1967 when Carl Yastrzemski won it on the Red Sox. It was a tough race because many people also wanted Mike Trout to win it but Cabrera out beat Trout. I personally never liked Miguel Cabrera, I don't know, I just don't like him. So yeah, he had a great year for the Tigers, and will probably keep it up in his future seasons.
Buster Posey
This is Buster Posey during the Giants victory parade. He also had a great year, obviously. He helped the Giants win the world series and had a grand slam during one of the postseason games. This is his second World Series championship and he now has 2 rings. Here's his stats.
Home Runs: 24
RBI's: 103
Batting Average: .336
Games: 148
Buster Posey is only 25 and already has an MVP award. Last season he only played 45 games because of injuries. In 2010, he was rookie of the year with 18 home runs, 67 RBI's, and .305 batting average in 108 games. This year he proved that he has power and can consistently hit. He's a great player and deserved it at a young age. He's also a great catcher too. I wonder what the future will look like for him.
So what do you guys think? Do you think Miguel Cabrera and Buster Posey deserved the MVP awards? I think they did. Comment!

Time is running out for the Red Sox
Hey guys!
So, as of today, the Blue Jays are reportedly close to a 2 year deal with all star Melky Cabrera who was suspended for steroids for the rest of the 2012 season this year. Things just aren't looking good for the Red Sox, with the Blue Jays signing so many new and good players it's going to be tough for the Red Sox in the 2013 season. Plus, more and more free agents keep getting signed and that leaves nothing but trash players for us to sign. Now, I'm not saying I would like Melky Cabrera to sign with us, I mean he was horrible all his other seasons and he was only good this season because he took steroids. But, there's another free agent who is exploring and that's BJ Upton. According to the media, BJ Upton met with the Atlanta Braves and they're talking. It doesn't exactly mean he's going to sign with them but it could happen and that would be another free agent we can't get. Maybe I'm just worrying because there still is a ton of more good free agents out there. Anyways, what do you think? Comment!

Celtics lost Thursdays game but won Saturday's game
Hey guys!
Credits to ESPN.com
So yeah, Celtics lost 102-97 to the Brooklyn Nets Thursday night but won Saturday's game against the Toronto Raptors by a whopping score of 107-89! Yes, they did lose Thursday's night game but they were missing Rajon Rondo, so it wasn't the same. Now, on Saturday they defeated the Raptors because Rondo had 20 assists, Jason Terry had 20 points, Paul Piece scored 19 points, and Kevin Garnett scored 15 points with 17 minutes in the game. This was a great game for the Celtics but they were versing the Raptors, a bad team. Anyways, Rondo right now is their star player and he was always my favorite player on the Celtics so hopefully he keeps scoring like this. So what do you think about this win? Comment!

Red Sox Taking It Slow
Hey Guys!
As of today, the Miami Marlins and the Toronto Blue Jays completed a mega deal which sent Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, and Mark Buehrle to the Toronto Blue Jays for other players who aren't that good as the players they traded. Now, the Blue Jays are creating a bigger and newer team and this could just be another tough competitor in the American League East. It seems that if the Marlins are willing to trade away their best players, I mean they traded Hanley Ramirez and now their All Star shortstop. But who cares because I'm waiting to see who the Red Sox are going to sign. With Torri Hunter signing to the Detroit Tigers for 2 years, that's one player were not getting but I wouldn't want him, hes 38 years old and he's not what the Red Sox need. They need a good player who we can keep for a while. So anyways, the Red Sox have been taking it slow and being patient. There is no rush until the end of this year because then other teams are going to start making offers. If we're going to make a deal I think it should happen soon so that these players don't sign to other teams. Here's potential players who could sign with the Red Sox.
Mike Napoli (credits to ESPN.com)
Mike Napoli had 24 home runs and 56 RBI's this year with a .227 average. Yes, those numbers aren't good but he had injuries this year and only played 108 games. This could also be a bad thing for him having injuries but it's the risk they'll have to take. He never had a 30 home run season except for 2011 and he showed power that year but was limited to 113 games. He could be a catcher or first baseman for us. Nobody really knows yet, all we know is that he's a rumor.
Adam LaRoche
Adam LaRoche was a great player this year. He hit 30 home runs and had 100 RBI's with a .271 average. He helped the Nationals make it to the playoffs and he declined the Nationals offer for a contract so he's a free agent right now. Nobody has signed him yet, and he won't be on the market for long so this is where the Red Sox should step in. It's unclear whether the Red Sox are interested in him or not.
Josh Hamilton
Yet, another free agent, and another power hitter: Josh Hamilton. He hit 43 home runs with 128 RBI's and a .285 batting average. Even though he had his slumps, he still hit a lot of home runs, a lot of RBI's and kept his average at .285. He's a possible player who could be on the Red Sox but again, nobody knows yet. Hopefully the Red Sox sign him because he could be help the Red Sox but then again he might not even want to sign with us so who knows.
BJ Upton
BJ Upton hit 28 home runs and 78 RBI's with a .246 batting average. He also stole 31 bases. Now there's a reason I chose this picture, take a close look of that third baseman to see who they're versing and then take a close look at the stadium behind them. I mean, it's so empty. By the way, if you didn't notice, this picture is him hitting a walk home run against the Boston Red Sox. I remember this game, we were up by a lot and Andrew Bailey blew it. It was close to the end of the season. Now, a player like BJ Upton needs to be on a team with a better park and we could be that team. Also, he says he wants to explore free agency so that's good. Hopefully he signs with us because he could REALLY help us out, but then again he could also want to sign with another team so AGAIN, who knows what will happen.
Cody Ross
Surprised I put him here? He hit 22 home runs and 81 RBI's with a .267 batting average. He was one of the few star players on the Red Sox last year and he needs to be resigned. I don't understand why they aren't signing him yet UNLESS they're trying to trade him for someone better but I just think it's best to resign Cody Ross. He said that he'd like to stay in Boston, so why don't we sign him? He proved himself to us, so what's the big deal here? Well, I don't really know and hopefully they resign him soon.
So yeah, I named a lot of free agents and there is a lot more but I am not naming them all. The Red Sox are taking it slow but sooner or later these free agents are going to get signed by other teams and we won't have anyone to sign. Anyway, who do you think the Red Sox should resign? Comment and tell me!

Cy Young Award Winners!
Hey guys, did you hear David Price won the American League Cy Young Award, and RA Dickey won the National League Cy Young Award! Ok, so who expected David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays. I mean their park gets like 20 visitors a night, SHEESH! Just kidding, they get people but not that much and everyone knows Tampa Bay just isn't a place for baseball. Anyways, David Price won and he pitched very good this season. Just to let you know, David Price was the number one overall pick in the 2007 draft and this wasn't his breakout year. In 2010 he went 19-6 with a 2.72 ERA. Here's his stats...
David Price (Age 27)
Record: 20-5
ERA: 2.56
Strikeouts: 205
Now, let's talk about RA Dickey for a little bit. RA Dickey was never really a great pitcher, he was more of an average pitcher and only had one other season with a ERA below 3.00. He always had this pitch called the "fork ball" which would later be called a knuckle ball. Anyway this was RA Dickey's breakout year at age 38. Let me repeat, 38 YEARS OLD. Man, that is old to have a breakout year but it was quite a thing Dickey put up this year. Also, Dickey was 1st round 18th overall pick in the 1996 draft. So anyways here's his stats this year.
RA Dickey (Age 38)
Record: 20-6
ERA: 2.73
Strikeouts: 230
So anyways lets break down the Cy Young Award winners. They both certainly deserved it, they pitched very good for their teams and were the aces of their pitching staff. Dickey had 3 shutouts this year. Also, Dickey had two, ONE hitters this year. David Price had 1 shutout this year and during the second to last Red Sox home game (which I went to, it was a disgrace), he struck out 10+ batters and pitched a complete game, but not a shutout. It was an amazing performance by him and I knew the Red Sox couldn't handle him. Ok so yeah, they both pitched good but lets look at some of the other good pitchers this year. I'll name 1 from each league. Gio Gonzalez of the Washington Nationals had a 21-8 record with a 2.89 ERA. Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers had a 17-8 record with a 2.64 ERA. Yes, they pitched good also but Verlander couldn't top over David Price. Despite having one more win than RA Dickey, Gonzalez also had 2 more losses than Dickey and a slightly higher ERA. It was a tough one this year but the Cy Young Award winners deserved it.
So, do you think David Price and RA Dickey earned it? Comment and tell me!

DEFENSE!
Hey guys, I have something to point out that most people have noticed lately: the patriots defense is bad. Ok, fine it's not bad, ITS HORRIBLE, IT SUCKS! Ok, now I'm pushing it because sometimes their defense is good and other times it's not. I mean they only blew a lead to the Bills last Sunday, only to luckily win it on a Devin McCourty interception. Anyways, that's just one example. Let me show you the past Patriots games...
Patriots VS Titans Win 34-13
Patriots VS Cardinals Loss 20-18
Patriots VS Ravens Loss 31-30
Patriots VS Bills Win 52-28
Patriots VS Denver Broncos Win 31-21
Patriots VS Seahawks Loss 24-23
Patriots VS Jets Win 29-26
Patriots VS Rams Win 45-7
Patriots VS Bills 37-31 (Our defense was the worst that game)
So, it might not seem that our defense sucks but some of those losses were leads blown by our defense, and if we did win the games where our defense was bad, they were lucky wins. Also, during the Bills game our defense let up 35 first downs, the most this season. So yes, some might be scared to admit it but it's true, the Patriots defense is not at its best and it needs to improve if were going into the playoffs, or if we even make the playoffs. I still think well make the playoffs because of Tom Brady and our offense has improved. It's just our defense that is slacking.
I have one more thing to add, the Patriots defense isn't the only defense slacking, the Celtics have let up a lot of points compared to their average around 80 points let up a game last year. It's still the beginning of the season, maybe it's just a fluke. Hopefully it is...

Welcome to Boston Sports!
Hey! My name is DJ, we'll say. That's my nickname. This website is going to be about Boston Sports. Everything you need to know about Boston Sports, right here. I've made some blogs in the past but they never lasted that long, so I quit them. Just recently, about a month ago the Red Sox season ended and the Bruins season was supposed to start BUT the NHL is in a lockout. But that still leaves the Patriots who are 6-3 and the Celtics who are 5-3 as of right now. Actually, its 7:20 PM where I live and the Celtics are going to start playing at 8:00 PM against the Brooklyn Nets. I will say right now that the least sport I'm into is basketball/Celtics but I've been trying to watch them more. Anyways, so mainly this website is going to be about game recaps/highlights and other Boston sport news. I will also be posting about some other important sport news. So yeah, that's all you really need to know. Bye!
